Valentine's Day 2015

Craig and I are both sick with the stomach flu today it has been a long day.  I came down sick Thursday night and stayed in bed all day yesterday and today. Craig started throwing up last night and has felt terrible all day today.  Our plans were changed drastically for the weekend.   When you don't have your health life is sure dreary!!  I'm so mad to be sick again.  I had signed up for Roots Tech family History conference this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  I only got one day in and loved it!!  I was too sick to attend the rest of the conference.  So disappointed!!  I really wanted to hear Laura Busch, President Busch Wife speak and Saturday was Donny Osmond.  It was the world's largest family history conference ever held over 22,000 in  attendance.  So sad I had to miss out!!  This darn stomach bug was very contagious!  It went thru Shannon's entire family over the weekend too!!

Michael bless the sacrament for the first time

February 8, 2015 We had a beautiful Sabbath day our oldest grandson Michael was able to bless the sacrament for the first time with his grandpa Symes, we are so proud of him,  it was a special day, we were even able to get Ryan and Shannon there for the sacrament meeting.  Craig had taken Michael shopping two weeks ago and also paid for Ryan. to buy a new suit, they were both dressed in their nice new suits this Sunday.  "Agency has been given to all of us to make important decisions that will have bearing on our salvation. Those decisions affect our happiness in eternity.”

Fast Sunday

Your personal testimony of light and truth will not only bless you and your posterity here in mortality, but it will also accompany you throughout all eternity.
Receiving a Testimony of Light and Truth.  I love this quote from a conference talk this last fall.  In knowing that if I am faithful  in my testimony of Jesus Christ in this life,  also will blessed myself and my posterity in the life after, this is very comforting to me.  Michael was ordained a priest in church today I was very touched and so proud of him and his efforts.  Craig and I had to get up early in order to be out there and get the boys to church by 8:30 AM.   The testimonies shared in the boys ward was very uplifting today.  I enjoyed my Sunday school and relief society lesson.  Relief Society president sister Faulkerton spoke.  She did a great job!  She talked about the sisters in Zion and the need to set the standard for the world.  By our mannerisms and dress the Lord will strengthen us as we strive to live his will.   I wish that Shannon and Ryan could've been there for Michael's priest ordination today.  Shannon was very sick with a bad cold and Ryan was sleeping so I felt bad they were not able to make it but we didn't want to hold Michael back in his progression with his priest duties.  His birthday was January 5th  and we needed to get him ordained.  Pray that Shannon and Ryan will someday be able to join us.   They are missing so much as the kids grow up.  Pray that Shannon can get her health better as well!!   I'm so grateful that I was able to attend church and to renew my baptism covenants.   After church we came home and I fixed the boys a snack so that I can go to my relief society in my ward.  I was glad that I was in attendance today it was a very good lesson as well. The theme for this month is to strengthen our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ- our faith needs action- we need to make things happen in our lives so that the Lord can help increase our faith.  Pray that I can be more mindful this month about the importance of faith in my own life and the actions that I need to take place in order to increase my faith.   I fixed a very nice dinner for all of us today we had salmon, broccoli and a baked potato it was yummy!!  Today is Super Bowl Sunday,  the boys wanted to come over and watch the Super Bowl with Craig.  They ate all the Twinkies that I bought at Costco this week, filling up their tummies they're growing boys and love to eat!!  Today I have taken the time to read several articles in the general conference issue they are also very uplifting to me and encourage me in my faith to live the gospel more fully.
