The Sabbath Day
The summer is winding down. We don’t have as many visitors this week. We can actually fit in the chapel. Trisha and Buck came up yesterday afternoon with Saydee & Boston and had dinner with us. They left this morning it was a quick trip. They should be in their new home in about two more weeks. It is a lovely home- so excited for them. Enjoying this sabbath day. I’m feeling much better and able to make it to all my church meeting this week.
High Counselors are speaking today. Brother Roberts and Zack Mckee is from our ward: they both have great and inspiring talks. Their Message was about the atonement of Jesus Christ/ who loves each of us. - Are we doing enough to teach our children and grandchildren the gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth today. Abraham 3:25 And we will prove them herewith, to see if they will do all things whatsoever the Lord their God shall command them; we are being tested to see if we will keep our second estate?
Atonement by - Jesus The Christ- Christ was sinless and the only one as a mortal son of God- Christ was fore-ordained before he came to earth to full his mission. The atonement / thru the Savior is a gift to us all. At one- ment - are we matching up one with the Savior. Alma 36:3 - quote -conference talk at priesthood session April 2029 - We Can Do Better and Be Better/ By President Russell M. Nelson- “Make your focus on daily repentance so integral to your life that you can exercise the priesthood with greater power than ever before.
The Savior, the divine sonship- reading in the gospel of Luke the birth of the Savior from the Highest - god the eternal father and Mary is his morality mother- The Savior meet the demands of Justice. He atone for our sins. So important to follow the come follow me lessons weekly, are we studying as a family and individuals? We will be blessed for our efforts.
Relief Society Lesson/ Feasting upon the Words of Christ By Elder Takashi Wada Of the Seventy Our Relief society lesson today. It is a great conference talk to review. I read it this morning before church. I got a text first thing this morning about 7:30 am. Tammy was asking me to help teach the lesson today. Come to find out Pat Argyle is teaching the lesson as a sub. So I’m prepared to participate in the lesson discussion. Some of my favorite quotes for the talk are: “ Our Heavenly Father loves us. He has provided a perfect plan for us to enjoy His blessings. In this life, we are all invited to come unto Christ and receive the restored gospel of Jesus Christ through baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and faithfully living the gospel.”... Nephi describes our commitment to be baptized as entering a “strait and narrow path,” and he reminds us to continue to “press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, … feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end....

It Is Friday/ Working In The Yard
August 23rd the month of August is going by all to fast. Want to enjoy this beautiful weather while it last. Suppose to be in the 80’s the rest of the month which is good. I can feel a touch of fall in the air, the nights are cooling off like clock work every late August the weather starts to cool off. I’m enjoying working out in the yard today. Taming the upper highway section of our yard from all the weeds. I planted strawberries on the slope area and they are doing really good. I want to plant some perianal flowers this fall in this area. The raspberries are doing ok this year. Eating some I picked in my oatmeal this morning. Reaping my hard labor of weeding the area. They are not producing as well as I would have liked this year so I read up in what to do to get a better Harvest so try it next year. Pruning is the trick in the fall for a better harvest next year. Now that I’ve got all the weeds out they will be easy to prune for next year.
GrandKid’s Back To School
Our grandkids all started back to school this week. Michael & Alec our two oldest have graduated. Cole is a senior this year hard to believe- the years go by all to fast for me. Shar posted a darling picture of all her kids. Cole will be 18 in October this year, Our Aubrey girl is going into10th grade a sophomore. Austin is 14 going into 9 grade and Jacob is going into 4 grade. Jacob was really excited to be back in school he likes school. When we were there on Saturday Shar had two computer screens on their kitchen counter. She said they just bought them. They now have the screen and computer board all in one, instead of this separate computer tower board, screen and wires going everywhere. They have improve so much over the years with computers. Shar was telling me that their school work is now all done on a computer. So to do their Homework they needed to have two computers at home so they can get their homework done. Sharing one computer was too hard with 4 kids needing to do homework at the same time. Wow! things have really changed from my school days. I’m so proud of Shar and Dave and the good kids they are raising. They invest a lot of time in raising their children and teaching them correct principles and it shows.

Sabbath Day / Enzo 3rd Birthday
This has been a nice Sabbath day. The morning was quiet I was able to get dressed and enjoy my morning- our meetings don’t start till 1 PM, Craig left at about 9 o’clock -he had early meetings to attend to. I taught relief society today so I spent time preparing our lesson from the conference talk by Becky Craven - casual versus careful -how am I living the gospel of Jesus Christ? am I careful or am I living casual, it was a great lesson and I receive lots of compliments on my teaching abilities, which is reassuring to me in building my confidence because I’ve been very nervous about teaching Gospel doctrine coming up this fall for me. Our sacrament meeting was very uplifting and spiritual today.
Andy Stokes and also brother Dale Baauer spoke, they both did such a great job inviting the Holy Spirit with the words that they shared. I really enjoyed our personal finance class tonight too, having a great experience in teaching this 12 week course, it is going by very quickly. It is our little Enzo Towner’s 3rd Birthday today. He is such a sweet little boy, just want to squeeze the little guy, love him so much .
Stacy sent a darling video of Enzo opening his birthday present from us. She got him a scooter with the money we sent. He is really good on his scooter. He zooms around the sidewalk like a pro for as small as he is, Fun to watch him.

Test Results
The doctor called today to let me know about my test results. I do not have any cancer cells which is good. My uterus lining is too thick and they did find a small pallet that needs to be removed which can turn to cancer over time. They scheduled me to have a D&C surgery Sept 17th where she goes in and cleans out the uterus from the thickening of the blood lining, this is what’s causing the bleeding and cramping, my body trying to release it from the abnormal amount. So guess this is good news it could be worse. Not looking forward to being put under. It takes time for my body to adjust to the anesthetic. I’m scheduled for a complete physical on September 4th. My blood pressure was high at my doctors apportionment last week. 133/90 it should be 120/80 do need to work on getting a lower blood pressure levels. Guess September is going to be the month to take care of myself physically. I’m bleeding heavy today again and cramping. I’ve already gone thru a box of tampons, so sad to say I had to get the diapers out don’t want to bleed all over my bedding. I had to wash it all on Sunday from bleeding out on my sheets suddenly. Not a fun thing to do. I have been so tired and sleepy today. No energy, extremely fatigued. I managed to get the kitchen cleaned up from our breakfast and clean out the freezer section of our fridge. We got it fixed last Monday a week ago and I’m just getting around to cleaning it out and restocking our kitchen fridge. We have been using the one in the garage we bought in 2000, it is 18 years old and still working and our old fridge in the basement we bought in 1990 for our home on Field Point Circle. Our new fridge we bought in 2012 is the one that went out. We had a an extended warranty for it which expired last summer and wouldn’t you know it it goes out this summer. We had to do without for three week before the repair man to get it repaired. Had to order a new computer board for it. It seems to be working great now. It only lasted 7 years to the date we installed it. Hopefully it last longer this time. Never seems to be a break from the repairs- our water pump went out today, Craig uses it to pump water from the lake to water our yard which is a huge savings for us. With just the minimum allowance it cost us $75 a month on our water bill, so when we water the yard it goes up. Craig was able to find a new pump online and order a new one for us- cost about $105.00. Which we save that much in two months of just using culinary water. The lake water is free, just paying electricity for running the pump. Our lawn is large to water so nice we can use the lake water to offset the expense.
Enjoying Our New Home
I was able to stay in our new Draper home from Wednesday till Saturday morning. Three nights. I went shopping Thursday after my doctor appointment. Fun to look around and get a feel of décor ideas. Which is not easy for me. There is so much gray and blue which is not my favorite colors. They are just boring to me, I need more color. I do like a lot of white. l just need to get our things moved in and I will get more a feel of what we need to decorate. This is the fun part over time. I did buy some new towels and white sheets for our bed at Costco. I went to Walmart and bought things we needed to start setting up house. It does cost a lot. I spent $200.00 at Walmart and didn’t buy that much. I found a bed spread I liked for $60.00 but when I got it home it was to gray for me. So took it back. That lowered my spending at Walmart to $140. Trying to keep our expenses down. It is going to be lean for us till the end of the year. We are trying to keep our income down so we don’t have to pay taxes and save on our health insurance cost. If we keep our income down we qualify for the health care discount which is huge. If not it would cost us about $2500 a month just for health insurance instead of $100 monthly. That is a $24,000.. yearly saving for us. Playing the game so to speak as long as we can to save us money. So we are being very mindful about our spending the rest of the year. It’s hard when I do want to spend money setting up our new home. Just have to be Patient. Theresa Collins my dear friend called me Thursday morning to visit and so surprised I was in town. She hurried over to see our new place and we went to breakfast. I had a two hour pocket of time before my doctor appointment. We talked the entire time. It was so nice to visit with my best friend. I have missed seeing her. Craig came down Thursday afternoon. We enjoyed getting out walking each morning and Craig rode his mountain bike too. We live right by the mountain bike trail access. Friday we had a fun day. Went to lunch and went to 3 parade of homes. Visited with the Tasha and kids. Shannon brought little Ashtyn and Landon over to swim in our community pool. We had the pool to ourselves. This was the first time Ashtyn was in a swimming a pool. She was timid at first getting in. Then when it was time to leave she did not want to get out, she kicked and screamed. So nice to have Shannon come visit us at our new place. I look forward to many more visits over the years. Saturday morning we hurried out to watch little Winston play in his first football game. He is going into first grade and playing football. Bridger has to hurry Lincoln to his football game in Herriman so we were able to watch Annie and help out until Tasha could arrive. It was nice to be there and see the grandkids. We headed back to the lake Saturday evening.
My Doctor appointment
Sarah Zarek in my Gynecologist Doctor. I haven’t been in for three years. She remember me. She thinks I look like the actress Linda Carter who acted as wonder women in the 80,s. I do look a little like her but have never had any one tell me I do. My appointment was quick. She said my. Uterus does have a thicker lining from the ultrasound. She did a biopsy to send in to the lab to make sure I don’t have cancer in the cervix area. So just waiting to hear the results. I have had a lot of bleeding. I got back to the lake Saturday evening and started bleeding again Sunday morning. I was cramping and just not feeling well. I got rowdy for church but didn’t make it there I was not feeling well enough. I was cramping so badly again. I’m leaked all over our bedding and Inhad to stripped the bedding down and wash it all before the blood is hard to get out. It hit me so suddenly again. I’m so sleepy and just rested for the afternoon until I had to attend the personal finance class I teach on Sunday evening. Going lesson 9. It is a 12 week course so we will be wrapping up in three more weeks.

Ultra Sound Today
I have had more Vaginal bleeding the past few months which is very unusual for me. I have not had a period in over 15 years. I’ve gone through menopause and should not be having any bleeding. So today I’m having an ultra sound to make sure things are ok. I meet with the doctor tomorrow. To review the ultrasound.

Model Annie
Our little Annie is so adorable. She is quite the model for Ivy City.co. Tasha can take her on her photo shoots with her I love these poises that were posted on her website.
Baby Bump
Natasha is about 4 1/2 months long- her little baby bump is popping out ,she’s so darling pregnant, so excited for our 20th grandchild to arrive. Is it a boy or a girl? I think it is another little girl!
A Day To Myself
Craig woke up early this morning- 6am to meet at the church for a youth activity. They are going to the Logan Temple and then the red neck water slide this afternoon. So he won’t be home till later afternoon. This gives me time to chill here at the cabin for the day. I don’t have these days very often to myself so going to enjoy my time alone. I’m looking forward to studying my scriptures and working on some family history. I have had no time to work on my family history this summer. So today I'm going to spend some time working on family history, I do enjoy a day of me time. It feels like a touch of fall in the air this morning. The missionaries are coming for dinner today so need to figure out what to cook for them by 5:30 pm. Going to enjoy my day.
Monday
Then Noriega Family is going to be arriving today about 10:30 AM. They have not had a chance to come up all summer so excited to have them here for the day only. Cole is bringing up some of his friends to share the day- so glad that they will be able to come and spend some time with us. I got up early to go on a 25 mile bike ride with the scouts they are working hard to get their biking merit badge and has included a lot of bike rides. Craig has been a great support in going with them and helping them along. I rode on a 30 mile bike ride a month ago. I thought about going this morning but my knees hurt, I fell down when I stop by Scott and Jan‘s yesterday to see grandma Lavon- I tripped off their porch and landed flat on my knees and they are hurting so I’ve just stayed home and rested.
Noriega's all had a great time leaving late about 9:45 pm. I had fun playing cards with Jacob. Craig was beat with us pulling the boat out at 10pm. It has been a full day.

We all had lunch at Ziips and then went to dinner at Cafe Sabor. Craig enjoyed playing in the water on his wave blaster and having someone to join him. Young Women in Excellant Award
Last night the stake had a dinner to honor those that earned their young women inexcellent award, I was the only leader with two other young women from the stake. I worked hard and great Honor to accomplish this award.
“Give me a young woman who loves home and family, who reads and ponders the scriptures daily, who has a burning testimony of the Book of Mormon. Give me a young woman who faithfully attends her church meetings, who is a seminary graduate, who has earned her Young Womanhood Recognition Award and wears it with pride! Give me a young woman who is virtuous and who has maintained her personal purity, who will not settle for less than a temple marriage, and I will give you a young woman who will perform miracles for the Lord now and throughout eternity.”
President Ezra Taft Benson13th President of the Church, 1985–94(“To the Young Women of the Church,” Ensign, Nov. 1986, 84)
I’m so very blessed to earn this award at 62 years old. I tried to set the example for the young women of our ward as I served as the young women’s president. It has made me a better person in striving to grow and learn in my older years. I have loved working on the different values and the 10 hour project for each value.
1. Faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true (Alma 32:21). I am a daughter of Heavenly Father, who loves me. I have faith in His eternal plan, which centers on Jesus Christ, my Savior.
2. Divine Nature/ Be partakers of the divine nature. … Giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity (2 Peter 1:4–7). I have inherited divine qualities, which I will strive to develop
3. Individual Worth
Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God (D&C 18:10). I am of infinite worth with my own divine mission, which I will strive to fulfill.
4. Knowledge/ Seek learning, even by study and also by faith (D&C 88:118). I will continually seek opportunities for learning and growth.
5. Choice and Accountability
Choose you this day whom ye will serve; … but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15). I will choose good over evil and will accept responsibility for my decisions.
6. Good Works
Therefore let your light so shine before this people, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven (3 Nephi 12:16).
I will help others and build the kingdom through righteous service.
7. Integrity
Till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me (Job 27:5).
I will have the moral courage to make my actions consistent with my knowledge of right and wrong.
8. Virtue
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies (Proverbs 31:10).
I will prepare to enter the temple and remain pure and worthy.
My thoughts and actions will be based on high moral standards.

Fast Sunday
The Burbidge family were here all week, they left yesterday to go home. It feels I nice to have it quite again. None of the family could make it up this year for Raspberry days. Craig and I drove yesterday to Brigham City to attend the temple session for Dillion Negus who leaves for his mission in September. Felt good to be in the temple. I missed the month of July. It is always a busy month with our family at the lake. We had a quite evening and missed the fireworks. We were both tired and went to bed early. Hard to believe it is August. It is going to be really crowded at church with all the visitors in town. I have lesson 7 the personal finance class this week to teach. 6 more weeks to go. It is a 12 week course. I’m also sub teaching for relief society next week so I have to study for that lesson. I’m not teaching gospel doctrine till fall. I’m studying and trying g to keep up with the come follow me lesson. It has helped me greatly with questions? I have had some with conversations with Shannon and learning what the true doctrine is vs the world. I have learned a lot. Learning the importance of priesthood power vs the ways of the world. Following a prophet, who is the voice of our Heavenly Father for out time and challenges we are dealing with. I have completed the book of Acts, teaching to the Gentiles and has been informative and applies to our times in teaching the gospel to the world. I have enjoyed learning about Paul a great missionary.
Raspberry Princess Pageant
I did my community time in judging for the Raspberry pageant. They were all so darling, hard to judge when they are the age of my Annie and Farrah. 4-6 years of age. There were 16 contestants. Afterward several of the committee members asked if I would be in-charge next year for the Miss Berry Pageant. I’m so done with pageants- don’t care to deal with the stress of it anymore. Even though they were young it was hard for me and the parents involved. I was really nervous. Fun to mingle with people from the community. Amber Parry in charge did a great job in organizing the event Ashley Parry Thank me for being a Judge. She complimented me for my resume of past pageants in the Draper Community.
