Day 4 of Post Surgery

My dear hubby is not in good shape - he hurt his back pulling himself up out of bed with his awkward arm brace.  His stomach is hurting with lots of gas - which is from the surgery procedure.  He is actually not in a lot of pain yet in his shoulder area.  We are trying to ice every hour. He is stuck in this arm sling for the next 6 weeks- I have had to get up and down with him during the night to help him get out of bed.  It's a fulltime job caring for my hubby right now.

Our Saydee Bug

Trials of life bring both sadness and happiness this is something I have learned…

Most recently I had to make the decision to leave my mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This was a trial I was not expecting and definitely didn’t want, but it was a part of my plan, gods plan for me. It has been so hard and I miss it so much already. However I have already been blessed immensely as well!!

This is my family and I get to be with them right now as I figure things out and it has been the biggest blessing ever!! They are helping me adjust and get things going so I can hopefully return to my mission in Washington!! My faith has grown so much the past two weeks and I know blessings come through trusting in god! he is there for you!

Our Saydee is home until they can figure things out.  We are praying she can return on her mission.  She was so sad to have to come home.

Bishopric Released

Bitter sweet - it has been five years serving in the Garden City 1st ward.  Craig and I drove back Saturday so we could be at church by 8am today-It was a challenging getting us both dressed and out the door so early.  I had to cut the sleeves off of one of Craig’s white dress shirt and hem the sleeves short in order to get it up and over his brace that his is going to be wearing for 6 weeks.  He is not suppose to move his arm, he needs to keep it in place for it to heal.  This will be challenging for my dear hubby.  It was a tender moment meeting with the stake presidency as they released everyone and thank them for their service.  I became very emotional as I was able to share my feelings in serving this past 5 years. I know Craig and I have given our heart and soul to the service of the Lord and have come to love the members in this ward.  We are beginning a new chapter in our lives.  The new Bishopric called as bishop brother Curtis Moldenhauer, Zack McKee as 1st counselor and 2nd counselor brother Jared Argyle- brother Holmes and also Andy Stokes called to serves as executive secretary and ward clerk.  They were all on our  list as brethren to serve in the new bishopric.

Craig’s Shoulder Surgery

Craig had his left shoulder operated on today-  we arrived at the hospital at 10:am and got home at 3:30 pm.  He is feeling nauseated.  I got him downstairs in the recliner- is where he is going to be spending his time for recovery.  I had Trisha and Saydee bug come sit with him so I could hurry to the chiropractor for an adjustment.  My lower right hip area is really hurting me.  I needed an adjustment badly.  It has been gnawing at me for the past several months.  It pinches the nerve down my right lower hip and down my leg- to my foot.  I need some relief- I’m going to be lifting Craig up and out of the Lounge chair and helping him move around.  I was a scheduled for a back doctor on Tuesday but had to cancel that appt.  Craig Campbell our chiropractor does a good job for me - I just need to get here more often.  I came in a month ago with Craig and knew I needed several more adjustment before it will get better hopefully.  I feel like I need a good popping in place.   Pray it give me some relief today.
I had just enough time while Craig was in surgery to stop by the $ store exchange the Christmas balls I bought last week-  I needed the smaller size for our relief society activity- we are making Christmas ball wreaths,  I need 6- 12 packs of ball for each wreath and the same colors so that is the challenge at the $ store finding what I need.  I’ve been to 5 stores so far.  I ran by the whole sale warehouse today to buy glue sticks and some ribbon.  I’m teaching the sisters how to tie bows for the fun wreaths we are making-  it is stressful for me gathering up the supply we need and trying to stay as low on cost as I can.   We aren't charging the sisters for our crafts so that is a challenge to keep the cost down.  Ribbon adds up-  Costco doesn’t have the selection like thy use too.

Michael Shot A 4 Point Buck

Micheal shoot his 4 point Buck.  They have been up and down the mountians since the opening morning of the hunt Saturday morning - the weather did turn cold and rainy all day Saturday.  Chad and his boys had a great time this weekend hunting but no luck for them.  There just didn’t seem to be many deer in the location they were hunting.  It snowed in all the mountain tops around the lake.  Tree are so pretty with the autumn leaves and a dusting of snow.  The crazy thing is just across the street they watched several deer by the red barn on Williamson-’s property there was a big four point they could have shot just sitting in the field in plain view.  Chad left Monday afternoon to fly back to California, they will all be back in November for Farrah’s baptism the day after Thanksgiving.  Craig and Michael went and hunt up on top in Logan canyon and still saw nothing to shot.  They did see several Elk and a couple of moose which is fun to see.  I saw two large moose with Craig on Friday when we went to scope out the mountain.  They came back and low and behold the Bucks were back across the street hanging out in the field.  Michael took his shot.  It took him three shots to bring the one down he was aiming for.  When he shot- the deer scattered and there were about 15 with several other small two points in the mix.  They hang out in the orchard field where there are apples to eat off the ground.  Just after Michael shot his Buck a blue truck came down the dirt road across from
Us and drive up and down the road several times - they stopped right in front of our cabin looking up the hill and then even pulled into Williamson's barn area looking around- they never got out of their truck but they must have been scoping the same area- to come right down where Michael shot.  We didn't know if it was other hunters or the fish and game - DWR -  Michael really shouldn’t have shot across the road but the excitement and wanting to get a Buck so badly took over his excitement and he made the choice to shot at it.  It was still safe.  Just crazy they were hanging out just across the street right in front of our plane the entire weekend.  Even after Michael shot they still were in the field-  a couple of doe's hung around the Buck Michael killed.  I’m sure they were concerned for their fellow deer that had just been shot.  Well we waiting until it was dark to go drag the buck over to our place. He was just big enough it was hard to get him over the fence.  Michael had shot him in the stomach the blood smelled really bad.  Craig pulled the four wheeler over and we hauled it up on top to dive over the street much easier than dragging it.  They got him in the lower garage to clean out the guts.  I told them I was out of there it is too smelly for me.  I did this once with Craig about 6 years ago and never again for me.  Well Michael got his Buck!!  He is heading home today-  they still
have to clean him up and get him ready to go to the butcher to make junky which is our favorite from the meat.  It was our adventure for the evening.  I cleaned things up from cooking and worked on another Christmas craft for Relief society.  I made a another Christmas ball wreath but this time glued the balls on a wire frame.  It was a pain in the butt - the balls kept popping off the frame when I would move it around.  The cost is about the same as placing the balls on a metal hanger.  I’m sticking with this craft idea using the Christmas ball and hanging them in a cluster on the hanger- you just have to slid them on. It is much easier than hot gluing them on the wire frame.  I took the time to read two conference talks and read 5 chapters in the book of Daniel.  I teach gospel doctrine in two weeks so I need to start my prep time.  I love immersing myself in the scriptures.  Jennifer a sister  I Minster  to called and ask if I could give her a ride to work and pick her up at 7pm.  I was glad to help- I took her dinner and some pumpkin brownies on Sunday evening along with sister Turnbow who wasn’t feeling well on Sunday.  I had made a huge pan of potato soup Saturday night for the guys - so I thought of those in need that I could take some of the soup too.  We had a full day- thank the lord for our many blessing and enjoying spending time with our family.
Michael is packing up and heading home today with his Buck - he is excited to get some jerky made and share with us.  https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1FhcuEmZOt1wnkszjf6Y1T0FJXDPY9s6Dhttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1-iKJPK12vmpvQPaIEgm2eJ2yokqIBKyp

Craig’s Last Y.Men Activity

It’s bitter sweet - they are releasing the bishopric this Sunday and organizing a new one.  It’s Craig’s last young men’s activity tonight.  I know he is going to feel a void when it is all final.  We will add a new chapter to our life story.  I know Craig has loved serving in this bishopric and it has been a great blessing in our lives.  It has been a long 5 years to serve yet has gone by fast in many ways.  We have grown leaps and bounds in the gospel and can say we have given our hearts and soul serving the saints in this area of the vineyard.  What is in lays store? Time will tell.  Craig says I get to pick what we do the next 5 years.  He thanked me for supporting him and allowing him to serve in this calling for the past 5 years.  It has been a sacrifice and a blessing at the same time for us both.

Reviewing President Nelson’s Conference talk / over come the World

Overcoming the world is not an event that happens in a day or two. It happens over a lifetime as we repeatedly embrace the doctrine of Christ. We cultivate faith in Jesus Christ by repenting daily and keeping covenants that endow us with power. We stay on the covenant path and are blessed with spiritual strength, personal revelation, increasing faith, and the ministering of angels. Living the doctrine of Christ can produce the most powerful virtuous cycle, creating spiritual momentum in our lives.
How to do this -
As we strive to live the higher laws of Jesus Christ, our hearts and our very natures begin to change. The Savior lifts us above the pull of this fallen world by blessing us with greater charity, humility, generosity, kindness, self-discipline, peace, and rest.

yoking yourself with the Savior means you have access to His strength and redeeming power.

I reaffirm a profound teaching of President Ezra Taft Benson: “Men and women who turn their lives over to God will discover that He can make a lot more out of their lives than they can. He will deepen their joys, expand their vision, quicken their minds, … lift their spirits, multiply their blessings, increase their opportunities, comfort their souls, raise up friends, and pour out peace

I plead with you now—to take charge of your own testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel. Work for it. Nurture it so that it will grow. Feed it truth. Don’t pollute it with false philosophies of unbelieving men and women. As you make the continual strengthening of your testimony of Jesus Christ your highest priority, watch for miracles to happen in your life.

My plea to you this morning is to find rest from the intensity, uncertainty, and anguish of this world by overcoming the world through your covenants with God. Let Him know through your prayers and your actions that you are serious about overcoming the world. Ask Him to enlighten your mind and send the help you need. Each day, record the thoughts that come to you as you pray; then follow through diligently. Spend more time in the temple, and seek to understand how the temple teaches you to rise above this fallen world.
I want to have a closer relationship with my Savior abs I know that I feel peace in my life as I strive to draw closer to the Holy Spirit and feel his love in my life ans for orhers - I like the advice to pray daily for inspiration - to write it down and following thru  with this guidance in my life.  The Lord will lead me thru trouble times we live now.  I’m praying for the inspiration that I need at this time to serve my Heavwnly Father and build his kingdom here on the earth to do my part to have a people ready for his return- to open the millianal reign.

Our Sabbath Day

It has been a very busy day wirh family here and fulfilling our church responsibilities- I gave my talk which went really well ans very spiritual for us all as the Bishop became very emotional speaking at rhe end of the meeting ans announcing they would be changing theBishopric next week - I had a feeling it was coming when asking the wives to speak this Sunday - so it was emotional for us all serving in the bishopric the past five years. There are many we have come to love theu our service ovwr the years in the ward.  This season is coming to an end and we will be approaching a new chapter in our lives - i had many members tell how inspired they were from our talks given and that they loved my story about my DNA father and how  this family history miracle has blessed my life-  I had to rush from scarament to Relief society to set up our Christmas craft display- I really enjoyed our lesson reviewing president Nelson last talk given  conference- very inspiring !! I then had to regroup ans lead choir practice- I was subbing.  It it well but only had 4 men and one sister.  When I got home with a cabin full - our nephew Tim Symes ans his 12 yr old son stopped by to visit. Speaking In Sacrament

The Bishop called Sunday evening to ask me along with the other bishopric wives Sister England and Sister Negus to speak in sacrament this Sunday-

The topic he gave us is a conference talk
Happy & Forever
By Elder Gerrit W. Gong
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles spoken in the Sunday morning session-

this talk touch my heart to the very core.  I love how he started his talk -  dear brothers and sisters, do you remember believing, or wanting to believe, in happily ever after?
Then life happens. We “grow up.” Relationships get complicated. Yet, in our “deep heart’s core,” we believe, or want to believe, somewhere, somehow, happy and forever are real and possible !
remember my mother often telling me when she was a young teen she dreamed of getting married and raising a family and living Happily ever after - when she had many challenges -marrying four times in her life time.  Her first marriage was my birth father- who moved us to Dallas Texas when I was three years old and then deserted us leaving my mother with two small children to raise.  It took many years for healing to come.  My mother remarried and I was raised by my step-father.  Being so young at the time of their marriage- Memories faded and I soon had forgotten who my DNA father was.  When I was 11 years old my family through the powers of heaven were introduced to LDS missionaries and taught the true gospel of Jesus Christ -which was embraced whole heartedly.   When I was 14 years old I learned in young womens the importance of eternal families and being sealed in the temple.  I Loved my family and yearned for this blessing in my life- I began my journey of gathering family records - when I found my birth certicate - it Read my full name as Deborah June Loveall which was not the surname I was going by - as Turner -  I began to cry and memories flooded my mind of my actual birth father- memories that were not all good.  I was told by my mother my birth father had deserted us and she never heard from him again- in looking for him she was told he was killed by an accident Living in California.  I grew up not knowing anything about my DNA ancestors.  Fast forward  20 years I felt the strongest impression I should try to learn about who my DNA ancestors were - I shouldn’t hold uncaring feelings for the wrong doings of my Birth Father - this family branch of the Loveall family are waiting for their temple work to be done. I began asking question? - I called my mother to find some linking relative to the Loveall family.   She told me about a brother,  to my father- James Loveall who was living in Dallas Texas.  I called him and over the phone filled out a family group sheet of who my grandparents were and the siblings in the family.  There was lots of missing information but it was a start- when I visited my family living in Texas I wanted to take the time to see him and learn more about my ancestors.   In the mean time I began looking for my ancestors -what I could find online-but  my branch was a missing link - uncle James said he had a family history book that told about our Loveall ancestors.  I needed to take the time to go see him.  Which I never did and 12 years later found he had died.  I was heart sick  inside and haunted that I had not taken the time to go see him- I knew in my heart he was the key to unlocking this family line.  I was at a dead end with him gone - I had lost my opportunity.  Then miracles began to happen!!   I had a half brother Scott Loveall from Florida who contacted me -and also was deserted as a young child.  He proceeded to tell me that Uncle James home had been sitting for many years with squatters taking posssesion -  if we could legally show we were the only living relatives and pay the back taxes  we could inherit the property-  All we had to go on was this very vague family group sheet I had filled out many years ago-  we had to show that all the ancestors of this family were dead.  I needed to locate the death certificates for each family member - how was I going to do this ?  I had the strongest impressions the answers were in James home- I had been praying that somehow the Lord would provide a way for me to visit his home.   The way was miraculously opened and I was allowed to go into his home. The home and been built in the 1920s it was all boarded up smelled horrible -it was hot and humid and dark. I said a prayer when I was entering the old home  that I could find the needed information. I walked into the back bedroom where there was a  pile of papers that had been dumped on the floor. Immediately I saw a picture hanging on the wall of a man holding a Bible and I knew that this was my grandfather- because it looked just like my younger brother. As I went through the pile of rubble on the floor I came across my grandfather‘s obituary which told me he died the year I was born In Minnesota - this gave me clues where to locate his death certificate, I also found my grandmother’s obituary and found that she died up in East Texas which gave me the clue of where to find her death certificate. I found that they had a sister that died from a surgery at the age of 14 and the younger brother that died as a baby and a brother that had died in a stabbing in downtown Dallas as he was defending a woman that was being attacked. The big question was if my DNA father was still alive -that we did not know.? I was able to go to the Social Security administration and visit with them and found my birth father had been living in California and had died the very month that all of the doors began opening for us. In about a three weeks time I was able to request the death certificate for each family member and present to the court we were the only living ancestors left in the family branch. I was amazed how things fell in place so quickly and felt their guiding hand from heaven helping me. The miracle of learning about who my grandfather and grandmother were and that my grandfather was a minister and loved and serve the Lord all his life.  I still needed to get a death certificate for my birth father but was having a hard time pinning down the exact location in California. I was down to the last day of turning in my documents and I knelt down and prayed to my heavenly father he would help me locate his death certificate. I was told by the Social Security that the Salvation Army was the ones that had reported his death.  So I called their main headquarters in California. -Think of all the millions of people that live there.  The Automated phone system gave me 10 different numbered options to pick from- I had no idea and I just randomly picked a number. As I began telling the lady my story and how I needed to find his death certificate - she said to me, sweetie I knew your father-  I was his payee -we were able to get him off the streets the last year of his life and take care of him. She told me things that I would’ve never known about my birth father- he had been a homeless person and lived on the streets in Riverside California for many years. Broke my heart to hear this. How many things I wanted to know about him. I felt my heart softened at that point- I knew that God’s hand was helping me to find the documents needed so that I could perform the temple work in the temple and seal each of these family members as an eternal family. The tears flowed at the sealing altar-  I felt this over whelming love surround me and I felt their presence thanking me. Someday I will get to know more about my birth father.

I love how Elder Gong - said - “we become more whole as we trust Jesus Christ to make our relationships whole…. The Lord, who sees and understands perfectly, forgives whom He will; we (being imperfect) are to forgive all. As we come to our Savior, we focus less on ourselves. We judge less and forgive more. Trusting His merits, mercy, and grace can free us from contention, anger, abuse, abandonment, unfairness, and the physical and mental challenges that sometimes come with a physical body in a mortal world. Happy and forever do not mean that every relationship will be happy and forever. But a thousand millennial years when Satan is bound may give us needed time and surprising ways to love, understand, and work things out as we prepare for eternity.
We find heaven’s sociality in each other.

Dear brothers and sisters, God our Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son live. They offer peace, joy, and healing to every kindred and tongue, to each of us. The Lord’s prophet is leading the way. Latter-day revelation continues. May we draw closer to our Savior in the holy house of the Lord, and may He draw us closer to God and each other as we knit our hearts together in Christ-given compassion, truth, and mercy in all our generations—in time and eternity, happy and forever. In Jesus Christ, it is possible;
True, enduring joy and eternity with those we love are the very essence of God’s plan of happiness.

Learning to forgive those family members in this life is so important - I testify that healing family relationship does come as we attend the temple and present our family names for temple ordaninces - section 138: 32 reads - “
Thus was the gospel preached to those who had died in their sins, without a knowledge of the truth, or in transgression…

Gratefully, we know the living and “the dead who repent will be redeemed, through obedience to the ordinances of the house of God” and Christ’s Atonement. In the spirit world, even those in sin and transgression have opportunity to repent.   May we all strive to do our part to build eternal families in name of Jesus Christ - Amen

Busy Week

I have had a busy week working on crafts -  I have to have my Christmas crafts ready for display this Sunday so got these to made and ready. Rhwy turned out so fun- any glass jar cover in modpodge gule and sprinkle crystal salt with snow mix to make snowy candle holders and tie ribbon in them - ans I made a Christmas ball wreath from the balls from the $ store.  https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1P-dmuY4W41KGOPhOegom9bFQwPonZ5bChttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1uxXAfkUrFHl7Z2ivEXfPekS4rYulg-vE
I’m also decorating for the Stake Relief society gratitude dinner on November 3rd - I have been busy creating 27 table center pieces for the event.  I had to get a jump start on them wirh Craig having shoulder shirkey next week.  He is going to need my attention in caring for him.  I’m teying to get as much done as I can. The weather has been so beautiful this week.  We had fun playing pickellball twice this week.  Craig gettibg in his last few times to play before his surgery day next week.  He will be shut down for months they say is a 6 to 8 month recovery. He has been out scopeing  out the mountains in the last afternoon till dark to locate any deer for the up coming hunt this weekend. We are going to have a cabin full by tomorrw morning.  I have lots I want to get done today.  The weather is going to drop 30 degress by tomorrw wirh rain and snow in the forecast.  I want to get my upper window washed on the deck and cut my Hollyhock stalks for seeds.  Gather pinecones for our RS super activity that we are making ornaments with- and cutting pampas grass for
My Autum center pieces- Clean up my crafting messes and tidy the cabin for all our family arrivals.  So I have a very busy day!! Wednesday I made pumpkin brownies for my 4 ministering families and For Craigs 3 families - I made over 28 Autum bows they have turned out so pretty- I have been working on my talk for sacrament this Sunday in the middle of all my projects.  I need to review the music for choir practice  today -I’m subbing after church Sunday.   It is going to be a very busy weekend for us.
Craig and I drove to Evanston yesterday to get supplies.  He needed bullets and groceries for the weekend.  I needed to go to the $ store to start buying Christmas balls for our wreaths and start collecting the things we need for our supper Saturday -  i enjoyed our hour drive there and hour back to the lake.  Craig also wanted to fill his gas tank with the lower price in gas right now whixh really isn’t that low $3.95 a gallon  it was below $4.00 a gallon whixh we haven’t seen for many months.  Everything cost more food and gas with the rising cost of inflation in our economy and expected to rise even more.  Food storages are on the rise with everything costing so much just to produce. Farmer’s are cutting back and the government is paying farmers not to farm- which is crazy.  Our crazy weather patterns have caused drought in areas of production plus the depleted soil- farmer aren’t able to afford the cost of fertiler.   There have been many food packing plants mysteriously burn down which also stops production of our food chain.  I can see teying times are coming - I need to stock pile as much as I can.  I have flet this strongly the past two years hand have slowly be addiing food I can store- but if things really do come to a hault I-don’t have enough - I need to make more of an effort to prepare.  Well I need to get going I have lots that needs to be done today.

Bridger’s Birthday

Our son-in-law Bridger Thomas celebrated his birthday on the 18th Monrh and five days later our Daughter Natasha us celebrating her birthday October 23rd.  So proud of them
Both.  They have created an amazing family and are doing great things in their lives.  They are both very busy working rhe thriving bussinees  Ivy City.  It is has grown into a multii-million business now. Thwy bought a amazing home and have been remodeling this year- hoping to host Annie baptism there in November-  they bought a lovely home in St George and will have fun decorating it there. Craig and I hope to spend some time there this winter.  Love them both so very much

Our Sabbath Day

I had to get up early to wash my hair and get ready for our full day.  I made us a yummy breakfast with scrambled eggs chopped onion and asparagus topped with cheese a healthy way to start our day. Criag had to be at the church by 8 o’clock for his morning meeting. I had an 8:30 AM planning meeting for our super Saturday activity on November 19th. Craig and I had to head out by 9 AM to make our 2 hour drive to Freedom, Wyoming to attend the sacrament meeting farewell for Gordon Call.  He is the oldest son of the Call family with 8 children that lived in our ward for just over a year while they were building their new home in the Star Valley. It is a beautiful drive there and back.Gordon is a fine young man and will fulfill an honorable mission, he was called to serve in Brazil. We were tired when we arrived home at 2:30 PM. I had to rest for a while. my heart rate was racing and I was feeling jittery and nauseous so I laid down to take a long nap. The bishop called last night asked if I would speak in sacrament next Sunday - so that is something I have to work on this coming week preparing a talk. He referred me to a conference talk given by brother Gong in our last general conference as my subject material to build my talk by the Holy Spirit.  We drove back to the lake Saturday after working Wednesday Thursday and Friday on our desk project that’s coming along- it has been a lot of work for us took several coats of paint  and measuring many times to get the measurements right to fit. It’s going to look nice once we’re done.I need to head back down this week sometime to finish up before Craig has his shoulder surgery next Thursday a week and a half away- he’ll be shut down for at least a month or more. We’re gearing up for the big hunting weekend coming up as well. Micheal, Ryan and Landon are coming and Chad and his boys are flying in from California with several of the Towner brothers and I think Bridger and his boys are coming up as well. We are going to have a cabin full!!  I have lots of projects I’m working on too-I need to have my Christmas display done by this Sunday give my talk in sacrament and lead choir practice after church and baby sit the Thomas granddaughters while Bridger hunts.  I’m working on decorations for the gratitude dinner in the stake on November 3rd.  So I have lots to look forward to and plan for- the fall weather is going to be very nice the next three days and then cooling off -the cold weather is coming. I want to get some window washing done before the cold comes and pick some apples from a cross the street.  My filters for my juicer arrived in the mail so I can make some apple juice now.  I’m heading over to the city piackleball Courts to play for a few hours and enjoy this beaitful fall day.

I thought we would try to go to the temple today I haven’t been in several months. Greg’s back is hurting really bad this morning so I don’t know if we’re going to make it. We have enjoyed our time being lazy this morning and watching our outlander series. Cleaning and Creating at our Draper Home

I was relieved of my duties of caring for Boston for the week yesterday morning.
I stayed home home all day tinkering in our home.  Working on decorating project.  I had to work on painting and cleaning up our front door.  It all refreshed nicely.  I painted some wall boxes white andrearranged the hanging on the wall in the bedroom that Craig and I are redoing. He has worked on my desk last week. I moved the bedding from the other bedroom to make room for grandma Lavon‘s bedroom set into this bedroom. Moving her furniture here has been a snowball effect. I’ve had fun going through the Halloween decoration box that I received from her garage and placing in our home I have things all decorated pretty for the fall season. Today I worked on cleaning my bedroom it was really dusty he was actually been here three years now which is crazy the time is gone by so fast. Don’t spend a lot of time here but it still needs to be clean and dusted. I move the bedding from that bedroom downstairs to grandma Lavon‘s bedroom set so updating the bedding in my bedroom. I repainted the wall sconces hanging on our bed that I painted two years ago why but now I don’t like them I painted them a pretty metallic gold so I’ve been busy this morning working on the master bedroom it’s coming together and looking nice and clean. I thought about getting some different bedding I’ve had this bedding since 2000. But I still really like it and it’s in great shape and I still love the colors so I’m just giving a little bit of an updated look and keeping what I have. My sweet hubby was gonna come down last night but he’s just not doing well his backs hurting and he’s low on energy. Early this morning when I woke up I heard his voice saying sweetheart I love you it was almost like he was speaking to me from the other side of the veil. I had left my phone downstairs so he could’ve called me in the middle of the night and I wouldn’t of known it so I was in a panic. It was about 7:30 AM I called him several times and he wasn’t answering. I got down on my knees and pray that he would be OK I can’t lose him now I’m not ready for him to depart this life yet. I love him so much and I would be so lost without him right now. After calling three times he finally answered the phone he said he was really tired and he didn’t make it down last night his back is just hurting so badly.  I called to check on him again taking a lunch break and he said he’s just so low of energy his blood pressure was way low when he took his vital signs which could explain why he’s low energy.  He does have a doctors appointment tomorrow in Logan at 2 o’clock. So I just told him to come down and get me after his doctors appointment I have plenty to keep me busy here cleaning and tinkering in our home. It’s nice to have some time to myself to get some things done around here. My next big project is decorating a storage room for another Halloween party that I did two years ago it all turned out so cute and I want to try to do another Halloween party this year with all our grandkids so that will be a working project.

Cole Noriega 21st Birthday

We met Cole for lunch on Friday - he is turning 21 and is legal now to gamble - Dave his dad and him are taking off to Wendover for some fun at the casino’s.  We hadn’t seen Cole since June when Saydee left for her mission farewell.  He worked in Huston, Texas for about 6 weeks selling solar setup from Chad’s company.  He said it was really hard going to door to door knocking on doors to find those interested in solar energy for their homes.   He is now living in Provo working as and training as a phlebotomist- this is where he draws blood from people for lab work to test their blood.  He is going to school during the day and working nights.  He live in thr same apartment complex with his sister Aubrey- they are enjoying the college life.

Saturday morning session: Summaries from Latter-day Saint general conference-president Oaks talk - humanitarian effort-

Listening closely to each song and conference talk what is the Holy Spirit telling me ?
Love the opening song by the Tabernacle  Choir - I know each song and talk was carefully planned to say the messages that Heavenly Father wants me to hear at this conference - I loved hearing this hymn and set the message for the entire conference - Guide Us, O Thou Great Jehovah -the choir sang
Majestically
1. Guide us, O thou great Jehovah,
Guide us to the promised land.
We are weak, but thou art able;
Hold us with thy pow’rful hand.
Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit,
Feed us till the Savior comes,
Feed us till the Savior comes.

2. Open, Jesus, Zion’s fountains;
Let her richest blessings come.
Let the fiery, cloudy pillar
Guard us to this holy home.
Great Redeemer, Great Redeemer,
Bring, oh, bring the welcome day,
Bring, oh, bring the welcome day!

3. When the earth begins to tremble,
Bid our fearful thoughts be still;
When thy judgments spread destruction,
Keep us safe on Zion’s hill,
Singing praises, Singing praises,
Songs of glory unto thee,
Songs of glory unto thee. -   The thoughts came to me as I listened - Guide us Lord in these trying days as we prepare the world for thy second coming and may we each do our part- be not afraid when all seems lost - Jesus Christ over comed the world and he will guide us and lead me to my Zion home.  This song was very stirring to my soul -

The opening speaker was the 2nd counselor to the Prophet addressing us in this subject -
President Dallin H. Oaks — Helping the poor and distressed-The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gave $906 million in 2021 through donations in 188 countries, President Dallin H. Oaks of the First Presidency said. Members also contributed 6 million hours of aid and served through callings in the church and personal donations to charitable organizations.  President Oaks said that most of the humanitarian work done throughout the world is not done through the church, or by any singular organization, and giving to others is a principle in many religions. He encouraged members to be more aware of and thankful for the service of others. -The Church of Jesus Christ is committed to serving those in need, and it is also committed to cooperating with others in that effort,"

He said the church has learned from other organizations how to best provide care and stressed that each of the children of God is enlightened to serve.-While each humanitarian organization has its own areas of specialization, we share the common goal of relieving suffering among God's children. All of this is part of God's work for his children," President Oaks said. He gave examples of individuals who saw a need and stepped up to fill it, helping those in need receive education or medical care, and said God is inspiring people of faith worldwide to serve. "These examples do show that God inspires many organizations and individuals to do much good. It also shows that more of us should be recognizing the good done by others and supporting it as we have the time and means to do so," President Oaks said. President Oaks encouraged members to support religious freedom, education, relief from natural disasters and many other good causes and said Jesus Christ can guide church members on how they can best help.

"I testify of Jesus Christ, whose light and Spirit guides all of the children of God in helping the poor and distressed throughout the world.”

From this talk relearned that any good cause is of God - as King Benjamin taught as we are in the service of your fellowmen ye are in the service of your God- as the deeds of evil men increase in the world from War- displacement of many losing their homes and all belonging, also from the nutural disaster of the elements increasing - people lives are turned upside down - we all need to help where we can in the sphere of our own surrounding to help others and to donate to the monthly fast which is used to help care for the needy and the poor- have alt has asked us to care for one another to minister and love all mankind with the basic needs of sustaining our lives. The humanitarian effort is world wide and the needs have increased greatly.  We are going to continue to see even more needs in the future months as a world wide famine begins- how do I prepare myself and our family so we can be of service to others in our own surroundings?  I pray for the guidance on how I can be prepare better,  I know when things suddenly shut down in the spring of 2020- I was in shock seeing this happen- craig and I went to the store and found the shelves were empty- I had never seen this happen so quickly.  I realized then I was not very prepared to sustain myself or my family for a period of time.  I know I have always been taught to have a years supply of emergency food supply.  With us in our retirement years I have become lazy.  We had no extend supply stores up -  I felt this 2020 shut down was a wake of call to be more prepared and continue to store a food supply that can sustain our family when the need arises- when stores shut down in the future again- I have since strived to do better and fill my storage with things that will help us and give us the resources to serve other too- I need to do more !  I can see that food shortage are on the rise from all that is happening in the world and will effect our own lives too as the effect come to America-  the Lord says we need not fear if we are prepared-  help me to know how to prepare more effectively-  help me to have the spirit prompt me where needed To sustain our lives - we can’t depend on the government - it will come down us as individuals, the family and as a church to help one another in need.  It is prophesied turbulent times and it is upon us - each day in thr news the alarm is sounding the tribulation happening in our world and we all are connected to help one another where we possibly can.

2nd Talk given - apostle

Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf — Jesus Christ is the strength of youth

Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf, of the church's Quorum of Twelve Apostles, spoke directly to young men and young women and announced a new "For the Strength of Youth" guide with the subtitle "A Guide for Making Choices." The guide is now in multiple languages online, and Elder Uchtdorf urged youth to get their own copy.

"I always keep a copy in my pocket close to my heart, and I share it with people who are curious about our standards," he said. "It has been updated and refreshed to better cope with the challenges and temptations of our day."

Elder Uchtdorf stressed that while "For the Strength of Youth" is a guide for making choices, it doesn't make those choices for the individuals reading it — nor does it provide a "yes" or "no" to every choice youth may face.“My dear friends, let me repeat, if the Savior were standing here today, He would express His endless love for you, His complete confidence in you. He would tell you that you can do this.” .."I suppose the guide could give you long lists of clothes you shouldn't wear, words you shouldn't say and movies you shouldn't watch. But would that really be helpful in a global church? Would such an approach truly prepare you for a lifetime of Christlike living?" Elder Uchtdorf said. He added that while rules are important, it's wrong to focus on rules instead of focusing on Jesus Christ. "You need to know the whys and the hows, and then consider the consequences of your choices," he said. "You need to put your trust in Jesus Christ. He will lead you the right way. He is your strength."

This was a very powerful talk of Following Jesus Christ in all our choices each day - let him be our guide-  as evil increases in our world and environments that surround us we need to focus on Jussu Christ and what he would have us do and have the courage to act!! Look forward to reading and reviewing the new For Strength handbook for our youth and for us a followers of Jesus Christ.   Learning what the truth is for ourselves-

Reviewing Conference Talks

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee” (Isaiah 60:1). Light and Life, by Mark Mabry - I look to see what our come follow me lesson is this week Isaish 58-60 them is about the second coming of Jesus Christ as prophesied 27OO years befor our time.  We will live to witness this amazing time in history as President Nelson just told us would be upon us  in the  coming days - reviewing his message again - i felt the theme for Confernce is to prepare for this great event!! And so touch that right after conference we are studying the word that tell us of his coming.  So excited to dig I to my scriptures this week and learn more.  I love this picture of the Savoir with our lesson material for the week-

Tuesday Morning

Craig and I are baby sitting Bostin for the week while his family is in Hawaii- we started our shift Sunday afternoon after last conference session.  I get up at 6:45 am to get some breakfast and out the door for the day- he arrives home at 3:45pm-  I spend the 8 hours yesterday working at our Draper home - sorting the last of Lavon's things pasted in to us and making a Di pile to donate.  We have the desk parts loaded up in the car to take back up to the lake to Mark Hislop who said he would buy for his realtor office.  So now I need a desk for the corner I have designated for my office space.  I move Craig’s office desk parts that he has into the space and it will work nicely- iy is very good quality.  I just need to paint it all white which will be a big project for us. He is going to bring his saw and tools down later this week to work on it.  I cleaned my storage room and tried tin de-clutter mote stuff- I got out a box from Mom pass along things that was full of Halloween so it was fun to go thru and see what was in there.  This got me in the mood to decorate for Halloween - crazy but October is here!! It is going to fly by ans I need to get my projects done this month - Craig is scheduled to have his shoulder surgery repair-on the 27th of this month -which will shut me down for a few weeks helping him.  We hear the rehab is really hard and will take 6-8months-  so he wants to get it over with as soon as we can- I’m thinking of hosting a family Halloween party like Indid two years ago - I was too sick last October to do anything - it was so fun for everyone- I like creating memories for the Grankids - so I’m still thinking if I’m going to host a party - it is alot of work- I would have to host it before the 27th which would be the weekend before his surgery day- so see how this week goes for me in getting thinking done.  I have the rest of the week to work and prepare.  Craig is heading back to the lake today for your mens and then back down for a follow up doctor appointment with the surgeon before his acutal surgery.  He will be back down on Thursday and then back to the lake by Saturday evening for Church Sunday morning. He will be back and forth three times this week.  I’m staying out.  Burbidge’s don’t come home until Sunday morning- I read Tereasa’s mission letter for this week and it was very inspiring to me I had to read it twice and had some good laughs as well.   Looks like we are not going to be going on any mission now with the shoulder surgery coming up this will keep us home bound till summer.  We aren’t sure when he will be released from serving in the Bishopric-  so he still has this commitment for now.  I got Boston off to school this morning - I’m heading back over to our Draper home to work on my many projects.  Craig took a sleeping pill and is sleeping like a baby right now so I’m just going to let him sleep.

President Nelson’s Messages

President Nelson gave a very powerful talk in the Sunday morning session and the closing afternoon session -
Highlights -

President Russell M. Nelson — Overcome the world and find rest

President Russell M. Nelson emphasized his love for members of the church, and said he marvels "at the way you spring into action whenever you see others in need. I stand amazed at the faith and testimony you demonstrate, again and again."

He added that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ "love you" and noted it's "vital" to experience their love as "we are accosted daily by an onslaught of sobering news."

But "so many wonderful things are ahead," he said. "In coming days, we will see the greatest manifestations of the Savior's power that the world has ever seen," between now and the time of the Lord's Second Coming.

The prophet described the present time as the "most complicated time in the world's history, with complexities and challenges that leave many people overwhelmed and exhausted."But, he said, church members can find rest promised by the Savior, as Jesus says "for my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

President Nelson said he grieves for those who leave the church because they feel membership requires too much of them. "Each person who makes covenants in baptismal fonts, in temples, and keeps them, has increased access to the power of Jesus Christ. Please ponder that stunning truth," he said.

The reward for keeping covenants with God is heavenly power that helps people through their trials, he said. Church members can overcome the "plagues" of the world and find true rest by seeking and following the promptings of the spirit, and by "repeatedly" embracing the doctrine of Christ.

Conference Sunday Morning - Bednar

October 2nd- Looking forward to the morning session - what is the spirit saying to me ?

Sunday morning session of the 192nd Semiannual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City on Sunday.

Brother Bednar - message about parables taught by Jesus Christ- we have to ask to understand and for the Holy Spirit to help us understand - he talked about the Marriage Feast parable- it  is a  lesson of rebellion- why are you not wearing the wedding garment?  - there was one in attendance that chose to disregard, referred as speechless - he choose not to wear the wedding garment-he wanted to do it his own way instead of the Lords way - for many are called, but few are chosen- to honor Heavenly Father- honor Gods call - we can choose to be chosen - must choose to be righteous and chose to live the coveant path and be obiendant- it is by grace- by all we can do - we may be distracted  with the things of the world - may lead us to not claim our heavenly birthright- are we called chosen to attend the Lords feast- We need eyes to see and ears to hear.  This was a very profound talk that really stood out to me. I have never heard this part of this parable discerned in such ch a profound way and feel elder Bednar was telling us to prepare for the wedding feast- it is coming.  I have often completed the
Is parable in the New Testament and it meaning.    I wanted to take the time to review this talk -copied the highlights written in the KSL New report -

Elder David A. Bednar – Put on thy strength, O Zion

Elder David A. Bednar spoke about parables being a defining feature of Christ's teaching.

Many parables liken the kingdom of heaven to other familiar things so Christ could more easily teach those he ministered to…"The intended meaning or message of a parable typically is not expressed explicitly. Rather, the story only conveys divine truth to a receiver in proportion to his or her faith in God, personal spiritual preparation, and willingness to learn," Elder Bednar said. He said individuals must use their agency to seek and find truth in a parable.  Elder Bednar spoke of the parable of the wedding feast, showing how misguided priorities can lead disciples away from Christ. In the parable, one guest showed up to the wedding not wearing the proper attire even though the clothes were provided for him. Elder Bednar explained this action from the unrobed guest was disrespectful and that he had chosen to rebel against the king. "The man desired the honor of attending the wedding feast but did not want to follow the custom of the king. He wanted to do things his own way," he said. Elder Bednar said an individual may accept the invitation and sit down at the feast but they do not partake because they chose to not wear the garment of "converting faith in the Lord Jesus and in his divine grace."  Similarly, people today may say they choose to follow Christ, yet don't partake of the gospel because they rebel against the commandments. He said many respond to the call from Christ but they do not choose to follow the call. "Instead, our hearts, our desires, our honoring of sacred gospel covenants and ordinances, our obedience to the commandments, and, most importantly, the Savior's redeeming grace and mercy determine whether we are counted as one of God's chosen," he said.

Elder Bednar promised that as people seek for spiritual eyes and ears, they will be blessed with the capacity and judgment to strengthen their covenant connection with the Lord.

"We also will receive the power of godliness in our lives — and ultimately be both called to and chosen for the Lord's feast.

Sunday Afternoon session

There were so many talks that were so inspiring- hightlights to that stood out to me.  Our Prophet President Nelson-

President Russell M. Nelson — Focus on the temple

President Russell M. Nelson urged church members to follow through with impressions they received during the conference…"Our Heavenly Father and his beloved son, Jesus Christ, stand ready to help you. I urge you to increase your efforts to seek their help," he said. He said he and his wife, Sister Wendy Nelson, previewed the new season of the "Book of Mormon Videos" series and were "inspired" by them. President Nelson showed a brief excerpt from the new series, which depicts the Savior's appearance to the Nephites.

"It is significant that the Savior chose to appear to the people at the temple. It is his house. It is filled with his power. Let us never lose sight of what the Lord is doing for us," the prophet said. "I promise that increased time in the temple will bless your life in ways nothing else can."..He said that the Savior is "making his temples more accessible" and increasing the pace at which the church is building temples.

"He is increasing our ability to help gather Israel. He is also making it easier for each of us to become spiritually refined. I promise that increased time in the temple will bless your life in ways nothing else can," President Nelson said…

There are 168 operating temples, and 53 temples are being built, he said, and then announced that new temples will be built in the following locations:

  • Busan, Korea
  • Naga, Philippines
  • Santiago, Philippines
  • Eket, Nigeria
  • Chiclayo, Peru
  • Buenos Aires City Center, Argentina
  • Londrina, Brazil
  • Riberão Prêto, Brazil
  • Huehuetenango, Guatemala
  • Jacksonville, Florida
  • Grand Rapids, Michigan
  • Prosper, Texas
  • Lone Mountain, Nevada
  • Tacoma, Washington
  • Cuernavaca, Mexico
  • Pachuca, Mexico
  • Toluca, Mexico
  • Tula, Mexico

President Nelson urged church members to "focus on the temple in ways you never have before."

"I bless you to grow closer to God and Jesus Christ every day. I love you. May God be with you until we meet again, I pray in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen," the prophet said.
He had announced 18 more new temples to be built.  4 were in the inter city of Mexico City -where there are so many people.  This so amazing to literal see the Lamenite nations blossom as arose as they accept the gospel message - which they much be in order to build more temples there has to be members that can attend.  It is a witness to me the gospel of Jesus Christ is rolling forth thru out the world.  Temples are dotting the earth -  he said miracle will happen in our lives as we prepare for the Saviors second coming… President Nelson had to sit down in a chair to address us all.  He turned 98 in September.  You can see his health is failing- sadly for us all as members.  I have such a great love for this project of God.  Craig and I both teared up during the closing song and many singing in the tabernacle choir.  God be with you till we meet again.  Our beloved Prophet  may not be with us much longer- with his aging body.   With him having to sit in a chair shows his health is waning.  He had been a prophet of temple building and helping us prepare for the Saviors second comping.  He is a 6th he generation ancestor on my Turner family line.  He for sure has the Turner gene I can see so much resemblance in look from my step-father Charles Turner.
