Singing A Solo
Craig asked that I sing a solo this Sunday in sacrament, so I’ve got to start practicing before the family all arrives, I’m meeting with brother Todd Bennion at the church at 11:30 today so I can start working on my solo, I’m singing a song called “Daughter of God” by Janis Kapp Perry, I love her songs, I’ve sang this song years ago for a Christmas program back in 2011, so it’s been five years going on six since I sang this song, I tried to pick something I’ve already sang so I don’t have to work too hard on it I haven’t sang a solo in sacrament since 2011 when Craig’s mom got baptized, was my last solo, can’t believe it’s been that long I just quit singing, it was nice to perform in the sound of music this year and get me singing again, I do love to sing, I’m grateful for this opportunity to share my talent of singing, hope to do more of it this year before I get too old.
Home Sweet Home
The day after Christmas Craig and I ran errands exchanged a couple of presents I brought for him that were too small. We took our car in to change the oil and went shopping at Costco for food for our big family New Year’s weekend, all the family are planning on coming in this year for the New Year’s Eve Celebration with us. Trisha & her family might be arriving tonight. We didn’t get home until late Tuesday night we had a full day of shopping, we stop by Scott and Jan and gave them a gift card from CafΓ© Sabor for Christmas and we stop by Craig's sister Shelly and Dennis, visit with them and wished her a happy birthday, she is born the day after Christmas, it felt good to be back sleeping in own bed. Enjoy the peaceful day before all the family arrives, it will get a little crazy when they’ll get here, but excited to spend time with them.

Fire Alarm
It is three in the morning, the fire alarm is blaring, we all got out of bed to see what in the world is going on!!! Where is the fire in the house? I immediately remembered the candle that we had bought and put in Michael’s bathroom to get rid of the stinky sewer smell down in the basement, we had light it and left sitting on the back of the toilet. It had caught on fire but it was in Alec’s room, he had moved it in there, it was on fire on his l nightstand by his bed he was sound asleep, when it started on fire. It gave e us all quite a fright at 3 AM in the morning. Shannon was able to put the fire out and clean up the mess the wax had leaked all out of the jar onto his nightstand. Shannon said there must’ve been too much oil in the candle wax, when it gets all liquid it can catch on fire, I won’t buy that Walmart brand of a candle anymore.

Not Feeling Well
I’m starting to feel a little under the weather today fighting a sore throat & headache. I can tell I’m just not feeling up to speed. Craig and I got our workout in and read our scriptures for the day. I’ve cleaned up the kitchen and folded the laundry it’s about 1:30pm. I have rest my right arm is really bothering me. I have a cyst that seems to be growing in my arm it’s gotten larger and it’s causing pain in the muscle in my upper forearm, looks like I’m going to have to get into a surgeon and have them take a look at it, probably going to have to have surgery on my arm to cut the cyst out, that will not be fun. I notice the cyst last year when we were moving. It has grown and is causing pain in my right forearm making it hard to lift anything. I'm going to take a nap and rest this afternoon, need my energy for young women’s tonight, we are in charge of decorating for the ward Christmas party tomorrow night. I have a lot of my Christmas decorations I'm taking to the church to set up for the party. It is a great project of us as young women tonight, I love to decorate.

Sunday Morning Stake Conference
We had a very nice Sunday Morning stake conference. The theme was family history and temple blessing in our lives. I took lots of notes of all the speakers, I did not have good internet in the Paris tabernacle, I saved my notes yet for some reason it did not save the notes I typed. I was greatly inspired to strive to do better in our lives. All of our Stake presidency spoke, along with the Stake Primary President and the mission president and his wife, also the 1st counselor from the Logan Temple. I love the temple and I have a strong testimony of the great work that is done inside our temples. The temple blesses our lives, our love ones and our ancestors. President Garmen talked about being more reverent in our Sacraement meetings. We love President Roberts our stake president. He gave a inspiring talk at the end of the conference.

Stake Conference
Saturday afternoon Craig has his priesthood meeting at 4pm and then the evening session at 7 PM for all the adults. our stake conference meeting on Sunday is at 10am, it will be nice meeting together with the Saints and to renew our spirit's for the holiday season. Craig is enjoying being in the bishopric and I love being the young women’s president. It is a lot of work for us but we have the time being retired. I have spent the day wrapping presents and getting organized for Christmas, I need to get ready for the adult session tonight, I’m really tired, I wore myself out wrapping, my right arm is killing me, I have a cyst that’s growing in my arm and I guess it has gotten big enough that it is affecting the muscle and tendons. I’m going to have to get it checked it has really flared up this week.
Wrapping Presents
Feels good to be back home I have spent the day wrapping presents from our shopping excursion. we bought three I robots at Costco for the Thomas,Towner, & Chaudhry family. Tasha told me that the boys were into the Under Armor apparel so we went to Scheels and bought Winston and Yael a matching jogging set and Landon a sweatshirt that has the under Armour logo on it, we also bought Landon in a pair of tennis shoes that match his sweatshirt. We bought Alec a pair of shoes that he really wanted that cost $85 and his parents will have to go in on the cost with us. We go half off another pair of shoes so dad got a pair of tennis shoes for Jude and we picked up an under armor shirt to match his shoes. We bought Michael a nice pair of tennis shoes and a sweatshirt that looks really nice with the shoes. We bought Jaxon a really nice sweatshirt at the under armor outlet store and a nice shirt to wear. Jaxon is in to looking nice. I then went to Carter’s and picked out three outfits for the little granddaughters Annie Farrh and Ashtyn. I picked up Winston and Yale under Armor sweat suit and a darling little under Armour pants suit for a little baby Enzo and a couple outfits. I bought some darling little outfits for little baby Ashtyn. A beautiful soft sweater with fur on it and a cute little Christmas outfit Shannon said she needed some warmer clothes. I got Annie and Farrah both a Barbie doll and some cute winter clothes so I just about got it all done, just need to figure out what to buy for the Burbidge family. Noriega family want money because they are buying a new trampoline for their family gift. It feels nice to have a jump start on all our shopping being December 2nd. I went to TJ Maxx and Ross and bought me a few new outfits as well, fun to get some new winter clothes, I bought some really fun fleece pants that I love to wear in the winter. I spent several days last week decorating for Christmas at the cabin, coming with the cabin all decorated and our shopping almost done put me in a good Christmas mood. I want to put up our large Christmas tree this year, bur want to wait until after our Ward Christmas party on Wednesday night December 6th. I want to use our 8 foot tree to help decorate at the church and then I’ll bring it home and set it up here. It has been fun to drag out my Christmas decorations I do love decorating for Christmas.
Shopping For Christmas
We left early Wednesday morning to Salt Lake. Craig and I both had a cleaning dentist appointment at noon, we took Dr. Richard Hughes out to lunch for his birthday, fun to visit with him and get caught up on his family. After visiting with Dr. Hugh's we went to Natasha‘s house for a little bit we slept over there on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Craig and I went shopping Wednesday afternoon beginning the big Christmas season this year we went to Costco and bought three I Robot vacuum for the Thomas, Towner and Chaudhry family, we had such a big lunch that we decided not to eat dinner we were going to Fleming‘s downtown to see the Christmas lights at Temple Square but Craig and I were not hungry and my foot was killing me, I could not walk very far so we just stayed home and hung out with the Thomas family. Lincoln and I drove around for an hour and looked at the Christmas lights that were in our area, Thursday Craig and I spent the day shopping for the family. We took the Chaudhry family to lunch and visited with them, Our baby Ashtyn is getting so big!!
Craig and I had fun shopping the afternoon at the outlet stores in Lehi, they were decorated so pretty, for Christmas. They had the most beautiful Christmas tree In the courtyard of the mall, It was huge a fresh tree decorated so pretty. I love seeing their Christmas decorations and the lights, we shopped until we were tired about five hours, our car was packed with gifts. We had only driven our small car so it was full. We’re trying to finish up as much shopping as we could for the family. We wanted to buy each person a gift, we have 19 grandkids which is a lot to buy for and the five families. We went to Scheels after shopping at the mall and got a few more gifts for the boys and then I made Craig go to Walmart to buy his Christmas sweater for the ward Christmas party coming up. We were done shopping by 930pm. we needed to eat something, we stopped at Taco Time in Draper and then headed back to Natasha‘s house to rest for the evening. Craig played pickle ball with Garry Mcdougal on Friday morning, while I finished up some more shopping, I wanted hopping so fun to visit with them. They were our favorite neighbors when we lived on field point circle. They were so good to let me hide all my Christmas gifts for girls at their house for over ten years. It was so fun to visit with them. I Barely finished up shopping when Craig was calling me to heard back to Tasha house, we needed to get on the road to head home. The Noriega‘s Burbidge, Thomas families we’re going to the parade of trees at 3 PM, I really wanted to go with them but there was no way I could get Craig to go, I wore myself out shopping so I was fine with just heading back home. I would’ve liked to of seen the trees and the Burbidge family were in town for a dentist appointment they sold their house in St. George so they are moving back to Salt Lake by Christmas time, they were out looking for condos to rent until they figure out what they’re doing. I got all our shopping done, we just have the Burbidge family left.

Young Women In Excellence
We had a great night at young women in excellence, the girls all did a great job, we celebrated the birthday of the young women’s program , November 28th 148 years ago tonight. Each girl dressed up for the fashion of their decade where they highlighted events that occur over the years in young women. I’m really happy with the outcome!! It was a lot of work. We arrived at the church at 4pm and it was a race against the clock to get all done. We set up tables in the hall for the girls to display the things they have been working on this past year. We had ten girls attend tonight. We ran wrapping paper down the hall wall and placed pictures from Brigham young in 1869 to now highlighting the decades of growth. We blew up balloons, had an old time birthday theme in color. We had apple pie, pumpkin and banana cream pies for refreshments, It all look really nice. We received lots of compliments for our efforts.

On Our Way To St George
Craig & I are heading to St. George today to visit the Burbidge family. They are leaving Saturday for California with the Burbidge family for Thanksgiving, so we are going to spend a few days with them before they leave. They are having a hard time with their move. Buck is not happy at all. Trisha called last week talking about how unhappy he is. They have already put their house up for sale and want to come back to the Salt Lake area. They just moved there in July. It is a lovely home but they have got to be happy where they live. Buck can work anywhere. He misses being closer to his family. I haven’t liked them so far away too. It is a 7 hour drive for us. See how long it takes them to sell. They want to come back to Salt Lake just after Christmas. It will be nice to have some warmer weather for a few days.

Very Busy Past Few Days
Our Thanksgiving dinner at the church with the youth was a great success, it all turned out so pretty. I need to get pictures from Rose I didn’t take any pictures I was too busy visiting with everyone and making sure everything run smoothly. I made my first video on my new PC computer and it showed very well, everyone enjoyed the evening, our food was yummy from the Bear Trapper, they did a great Thanksgiving dinner with all the works. We decorated so pretty, everyone just loved it, they thought it look like a wedding reception- so pretty. Yesterday I spent the morning putting things away from the event and Craig and I cleaned up and drove to Logan for the day, I didn’t go to Family History Library this week, I needed to spend time with my hubby. Yesterday I was soo tired, we didn’t get home from Logan until about 4:30pm, I stayed home for the evening and hung out at our place for the night worked on my projects for Young Women in Excellence coming up, another big event. It’s going to be so darling highlighting the different decades in the young women program and how it has progressed over the years. I’m excited gathering at the different clothing items for the girls to wear the night of the event. I had a slow start this morning I wasn’t feeling real spry and low on energy, I laid around this morning for a little bit, I put a small turkey in the oven to bake. I plan to take leftovers from the dinner to about four single men in the ward. I had to hurry and get dressed and go visiting teaching today by 1 o’clock, we spent two hours visiting with Sister Yvonne Spencer. I had not been in her home since June so it was nice to spend time visiting with her, she is a talker. I had to hurry home to say goodbye to my sweet husband, he was leaving at 4 PM today to go to Moab with the young man biking this weekend. I’m going to be a lone women for about three days, I have plenty of things I can work on. I hurried and gathered up the four Thanksgiving plates had about a half an hour to put it all together, with turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn on the cob and pumpkin pie with whipped cream and salad, so it would be a great meal. Sister Doris Mellor went with me to help me find the locations of those that needed the food. We took a plate to brother Miller who is about 85 years old living alone and then brother Larry who is in his older years, just lives down the road for me and brother Anderson has been sick and not been feeling well lately and then another man that just had back surgery in the ward, they were all grateful for a Hot meal. It took us about an hour to make the rounds, I wanted to go to our ward temple night tonight meeting at the church at 5:30 no one showed up at the church so I just went home. Brother Menlove and Craig were going on the scouting trip with the bishop, so I don’t really know who attended the temple outing. I didn’t want to drive to Logan by myself so I serve stayed home for the night, took me an hour to tidy up the kitchen from my cooking messes today. I had to clean the floors from my dear husband who tracked in dirt on his shoes, I’m really tired...... today has been a very blessed day. It has been filled with service, giving my time to help others, just crawled in bed from a busy day. Thank you dear Lord for all our many blessings,

My Hard-Working Husband
Craig had been helping Brother Rassmensen re-shingle his roof. The weather has turned cold and snowy, not the best time to be re-shingling a roof. Craig is giving service to help him out, a lot of work for Craig at his age he hurts all over. Hoping to get it done this week. No one would knew he is a millionaire helping others, by giving of his time,
