I will miss our beloved Prophet President Nelson- he has been my favorite prophet to learn from over the past 8 years- Conference will not be the same without him this October-

Scripture For The Day

D&C 108: 7 Therefore, strengthen-your brethren in all your conversation, in all your prayers, in all your exhortations, and in all your doings.

We have had a lovely day. The weather has been so nice- a high of 75 degrees. We played Pickelball a couple of hours this morning. We put our waverunners in the water. Linda Rassmensen and one of her dear friends visiting-came to take a ride to give her a lift from the struggles she is going through in her marriage right now. She sent us a sweet note- “How can I ever thank you enough for a wonderful day of lake therapy? Carol was so happy! She did something she’d never done before! Thanks for your generosity and good hearts! Love you both! We did something good today. We they left we went to lunch at Cafe Sabor and then took a ride on the lake. It is so pretty on the mountain sides with beautiful autumn leaves looking up from the lake. I really enjoyed my ride. We have enjoyed a lovely fall day!

Blessing of being a Women

“We believe that the creation of a woman was the crowning, and final, and most glorified moment of human creation. That we start with light and dark; and land and sea; and we move through fish and fowl; and beast of the field; and we get to Adam and it’s still not good enough… and only when Eve was created — this is our theology. You say it’s political, but for me it’s theological. That is our theology — that the crowning creation and the glory of the human experience came with the creation of Eve.”

– Jeffrey R. Holland | Q&A at Harvard Law School

love this quote as there is so much confusion expressed in the world to devalue a women-

The War of Evil

We are living in a time when the war in Heaven is being waged now on earth- I came across this picture and quote on my face book page and love the insight given by an apostle Robert D Hales who I personally met when I spoke in our Stake conference many year ago - Antichrist was a word used by the apostle John to describe one who assumes the guise of a Christian but in reality is opposed to Christ. That would be including nonmembers as well as members or priesthood holders. In a broader sense it is anyone or anything that counterfeits the true gospel or plan of salvation. Therefore, it means anyone who will prevent you from obtaining eternal life and who openly or secretly is set in opposition to Jesus Christ. The great antichrist is Lucifer, but he has many assistants, both spirit beings and mortals.

Even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. [1 John 2:18] Do you understand what happens when one denies Christ and revelation? It takes away repentance; it takes away forgiveness. It means that once you have made a mistake, you can never come back into fellowship in the Church. There is no hope. Be careful of those around you who would take hope and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ away from you."Robert D Hales - “This Is the Way; and There Is None Other Way”

Home Sweet Home

Feel so good to be home ! I always have to kiss the ground coming home. The Autumn leaves are in full array on the mountain sides. I do love this time of year with the cooler weather and autumn colors- we arrived home late Sunday evening- Craig had to go to the dentist Monday afternoon, he needed his crown completed and fix a filling that had come out just before our trip. He had a hard time eating on our cruise. He was gone for three hours they had a hard time stopping the bleeding when working on his crown. When he arrived back to our Draper home he was feeling beat up. I stayed home while he was gone cleaning at our Draper townhome. I had time to pull out my fall decorations and decorated our townhome for fall. It will be fun when I come back in town to have it ready for fall. After Craig’s dentist appointment Craig was ready to head back up to the lake and off we go! It felt so good to sleep in my soft bed. Tuesday I started cleaning and unpacking. I tackled cleaning our main level wood floors. I moved all the furniture around vacuum, mopped and dusted the baseboard and floor area. I then mopped it all with new floor cleaner I bought at the first of the summer and finally able to tackle the task. It shinned up the floors so pretty! It was a big job for me. I had to quit in time to attend our YSA activity at 7pm- learning how to make sushi! It was a nice to visit and socialize with our YSA branch members. Today I finish putting things away. Put together my new swifter vacuum and tried it out on the deck. It works great. I watered all my plant with miracle grow to keep them blooming through the fall. Many of my flower pots are still really pretty. With the cooler weather they are actually prettier. Craig and I went on our two mile walk enjoying the crisp fall air. Our little town has slowed down from all the tourist- there is a calmness in the air. Craig mowed the lawn and tinker outside all day. I need to start clearing out my flower beds for the winter season. My back just doesn’t hold up long so I will have to do a little each day. The rest of this week is going to be in the high 70’s and next week in the 60’s- going to enjoy this lovely fall weather- I’m enjoying my fall decor at our lake home- I took the time to listen to a podcast for my come follow me lesson material for this week and start reading the assigned sections 106-108- I have enjoyed listening to a podcast on these sections and enjoy learning new historical information about the time period in 1835 and how these sections were inspired to receive. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and I know through the power of the Holy Ghost this is his church on the earth. I learned more about the the Holy Priesthood of God and how it has been organized to function in the church for our time period in section 107- I truly testify this is God’s work of order, through the holy order of the different priesthood responsibilities.

Verse for the day 107:4- But out of respect or reverence to the name of the Supreme Being, to avoid the too frequent repetition of his name, they, the church, in ancient days, called that priesthood after Melchizedek, or the Melchizedek Priesthood.

here are few pictures of our fall porch decor’ over looking the lake - I bought a new plaid rug and fall pillow slip covers-

Our 2nd Port

Our second port was Skagway, Alaska . It was disappointing we were not able to stop at Juno, Alaska the weather was to bad to make this port so we stayed longer in Ketchikan and long day and night at sea before arriving-our highlight there was riding the White pass train up into the mountain pass into Canada. The scenery is lovely-the small town very quaint and only surviving due a cruise ship port. There were lots of jewlery shops as we walked along the wooden board walk through town. I have enough jewlery for a life time from Craigs mother so not interested-we had good weather in this stop for the day. We boarded our ship by 4:30 pm and off to the ocean blue- we were at sea for two days before arriving to our 3rd port- Victoria British Columbia, Canada. This was only a three hour evening stop. I was disappointed would have liked to have arrived before dark and enjoyed the enchanted city. It is known for its hanging flower basket through out the city. It is beautiful- we only got a small insight- we did enjoy our tour walk through part of town stopping and e joying two restaurants. Nice to have we were getting tired of the cruise food. Our tour guide was very informative and we enjoyed our walk tour of two hours. In our way back to the ship just getting off the bus we literally ran right into the Julie and Steve Christensen from our Bear lake Garden City ward. Amazing the timing with thousands of people and our paths met the same moment. So fun to run into them and visit. They were on a different cruise ship. Over all it was too long for me at sea. The weather was cold and raining in our seas days so there wasn’t any time to be outside enjoying the ship deck areas with the pool and walking round. It made for two long days at seas coming back. Check this trip off our bucket list- I like a warmer weather trip. I had expected it to be cold and raining we came prepared. We did see whale spouting in the ocean and one jumping up and out of the water while watching from on top of our cruise ship- while at sea.

Days at sea- the scenery is lovely!

Our White Pass train ride -

Skagway was a booming town during the gold rush era of only two years - it was the area where prospectors gather to make their way to Dawson City another 500 miles up the treacherous mountain pass- the train took up the mountain pass area they all traveledthe town was like walking back in time. On our way out of the port and on to the ocean open waters we saw lots of water falls cascading down right into the ocean- from the melt glaciers in the mountain tops -
