Having A Melt Down

I had a melt down yesterday afternoon.  I know it is silly of me and it will work out.  I have not had much energy the last week and have had to take a nap each day.  Yesterday they were working on the driveway and had to move the huge bolder rocks out of the way. Craig had them moved right on top of my flower garden area I have been working on for serval years.  I was just admiring how the bulbs I dug up several year ago back and planted were so pretty this year. They had multiplied and blooming soon. They were going to be so pretty this year. Well Craig had the boulder rocks placed right on top of them all- so I can’t even reach them to dig up and transplant- I woke up just in time to see they were digging and moving more rocks- where I had works so hard over the years to plant starts of poppies- I yelled at Craig to have them not digg them up with the backhole-  they had already dug up the ground cover- on the lower area where we plan to place stairs- I was planning on transplanting I told him I had wished he let me know-  I had to fight back the tears from all my hard work digging up the Allion's and Poppies-and planting in the only area to have a flower garden here at the lake.  I was not happy about it.  I felt this dark
Cloud come over me.  I just shut down for the rest of the day.  I slepted in and felt discouraged this morning.  I wasn’t motivated to do a thing.
I felt negative an what was I to do? Where was my purpose- my work was not valved- I started to cry- this quote for the day brighten me and gives me comfort -
Our love for God and our close relationship with Him give us the strength we need to transform our hearts and more easily overcome our challenges.  I was praying in my heart to not let this discourage me.  I was finally able to chipper up by afternoon.

Sabbath Day

We woke up to sunshine!  It is a lovely day after our rain storm yesterday and feel so good to have the warm sun shining thru- It felt good to sit on our deck and soak up the warm sunshine this morning- I was able to move my flowers from the garage to our porch to be in the radiant sunshine.  So fun to set them out on the porch.  I love the colors I chose this year. Red geraniums with a mixture of purple and white flowers and lovely greenery mixed in.  The 6 hanging plants I purchased this year from the Springville nursery.  They combine such lovey flower pots.  Excited to have the days warm up.  We got ready for church early this morning to attend the Laketown Ward to hear Cambree Fairbourne speak completing her service mission.  She is one of our YSA sisters- she gave a great talk- she has been playing the piano for us in our YSA branch- we are excited to have her in our YSA branch.  President Symes just called her to be our YSA relief society president-  we have needed a local sister that could serve this summer season. Ctraig wanted to support her speaking her homecoming talk.  She has a sweet and darling personality.  It was packed at the Laketown ward with summer visitors for the holiday weekend.  We should have a crowd at our YSA meeting moving to our summer schedule today meeting at 6pm.
Learning Heaven - not earning Heaven - thought shared in our YSA come follow me lesson today - I thought was very powerful thought- thankful for the gift of the atonement of our Savior - atonement means at one ment - becoming one with the Savior - “Oneness is what Christ prayed for prior to his Betrayal and Crucifixion. Oneness with Christ and our Heavenly Father can be obtained through the Savior’s Atonement.” We have a choice to accept his gift -

Memorial Weekend

It has been a cool holiday weekend.  Another cold front rolled in on Saturday.  We received serval hours of rain which we have needed.  By the end of the day the sunshine was out and things started to warm up a little.  Craig and I drove back to the lake Friday morning after Craig had helped Michael replace the brakes on his truck.  Michael loves the truck he bought from his Papa- it has been a great truck for us over the years.  We had no problems with it- not like our new Denali we bought in January this year only two and half years old and the engine ceased-up when we tired for the first time pulling up Logan canyon- it is now sitting at the Car dealership waiting for a new engine to arrive.  The parts are all on back order.  The dealership has given us a loaner truck to drive until it is repaired. Apparently these model years have had engines cease up- with fauity oil pump going out and ceasing up the engine. At least we do have a loaner truck for the time being. We were able to get our Red Acadia back from the drama with Kim Conover- I used it to hauled up all my summer flowers to the lake last week.  I kept them in the car for a few days with the cool weather and then hauled them all in the garage- waiting to put them all out when the weather warms up.  I was able to plant some on my planter boxes for the season.  I’m doing red geraniums with purple and white accents- they all look so pretty-  we enjoyed tinkering in the yard Saturday morning until the rain rolled in about 12:30 pm for the afternoon.  Craig Cleaned up our Acadia so Shar could drive it to St George for Austin’s senior trip they are hosting for the next five days at Natasha's home in Ivan’s. They are going to have great weather- warm in the 90’s all week long and sunshine, which sounds so nice.  I'm ready for it to warm up at the lake.  The next week is suppose to start warming up in the high 60’s and we might even get in the 70’s a few days this next week which will feel nice.  Summer is slowly coming.  It a quite holiday weekend for us.  None of the kids are able to come up yet- until the kids finish up school this next week.  It needs to warm up here at the lake.  I know our Grankids are all anxious to come to the lake. Craig bought another wave runner and it should be ready to pick up any day this coming week.  Craig bought a new trailor to transport the two we will now have.  He bought one last year and we loved it. It got used by all the grandkids.  We are all excited for summer to arrive and enjoy our time here at the lake.  Our driveway project is coming along.  The retaining walls were poured and had to let it sit for a week.  They were able to come Friday and backfill round the retaining walls and leveling things out- they are now ready to prepare the driveway and plan to start pouring cement on Wednesday.  It is looking so nice.  It will be so great to have this part of the house finally cleaned up and not look like the Hillbillies on the south side of our lot-  it will be nice to have the extra parking when family arrives.  The workers were able to set the new concrete caps we bought for our pillars on Friday.  Now  that project is done, just need to seal the caps and our cement patio needs a new coat of sealer.  We are getting our repair projects done.  We need to order rock for the retaining wall and railing to place on the tops- also Stucko plaster to cover the cement retaining wall on the south side.  We are working on cleaning up the yard on the southside between us and Gygi’s side yard that they never maintain.  Craig needs to get our new generator hooked up to the propane tank that Ggyi’s are not using- they said we could use for our generator- another project to work on- we are making good progress on our home maintenance projects-  it is the time to get it all done before our summer Funtime arrives with all our family coming and going.  We aren't able to get much done then. I’m excited to set my flowers out this next week as the weather warms up.  I also need to do some touch up painting on all our brown trim on the house, wash windows, and spring cleaning on the inside-  I have lots of dusting to do, cleaning all the blinds and window on the inside.  So this next week is going to be a busy week for us.

Michael’s Truck Brakes/ Go Trump!

Craig is helping Michael replace his brakes on his truck- the truck that he bought from Craig. It is a nice truck.  We headed to our Draper home so they could have a place to work on it.  I was tired and had to take a long nap from our early morning rise.  I've been listening to President Trump’s rally in the New York Bronx- it is a huge rally.  Fun to hear the stories that the President shared- his love for New York.  Pray we the people can turn this country around. The state has been blue for over 40 years- the native New Yorker’s are tired of the useless government policies- it is time for a change- Go Trump!  The government is hanging by a thread and Trump can make changes for good- the people are fed-up!  The people have flocked to hear him - Time will tell -this a heated election.  Our county is falling apart and we need Gods help! It has been foretold that the current President Biden will not complete his full term as president.  He has dementia and it has progressed fast.  Something dramatic is going to happen before the October election in 2024.  We are living in politically charged times.

Austin's Seminary Graduation/ YSA Weekly Activity May 22nd. Piggott's Lovely Home

Wr have had a full day.  I fixed Michael, Landon, Craig and I a yummy Sunday morning breakfast-  we had waffles with my homemade apricot jam.  I made brownies for our YSA treat after church today.  My brownies turned out yummy.  We meet at 1pm -3pm for our YSA meetings and back home to fix a quick dinner for the boys.  Craig and I had to head out at 4:45pm to make the drive down to attend Austin’s seminary graduations.  Wr arrived just in time to hear the last speaker and see Austin receive his seminary graduation 4 year certificate. So proud of our Austin- he is a very special young man. Seminary is so important and has been a great foundation in preparing him for his mission.  He is waiting for his mission call to arrive.

Back At The Lake

I have had a very busy week baby sitting the Thomas grandkids and helping Shar pack at their home.  They have to be out of their home by Monday morning. I put in another 5 hours at their place on Friday this week- they just have thing in the garage to move out and cleaning today.  They will be all moved out by Sunday evening. The new owner take possession on Monday.  It has been a hard working week for us all.  I drove from Shars home  in Kaysville to pick up Landon so he could come up to the lake-  Friday was his last day of School.  He is out for the summer season and excited to come to the lake.  The traffic was really bad and took me almost two hours to get out to his home in Eagle Mountain.  I was beat by the time I arrived.  I hung out their home for awhile to let the traffic die down and then Landon and I dove to the lake arriving that evening.  I was so tired when we arrived.  Ready for a good night sleep.

Natasha & Bridger Arriving Home

I was able to spend the morning helping Shar pack things up before I had to leave for the airport.  I spent the morning packing up Austin’s room.  It’s emotionally hard for him moving with this being the only home he has known growing up and graduating from high next week.  He has had a hard time moving his things out.  His room has been the last to pack up.  There is still lots to do-  lots of odds and ends things to mostly their clothes now and start cleaning.  They have to have it all done by Monday morning- the new owners are starting to move in.  Shar and Fave have been in this home for 22 years raising their family. On to a new stage in their lives

Helping Shar Pack

They closed on their home Wednesday afternoon.  I drove out to their home Tuesday, I packed up her kitchen and was able to stay 5 hrs-  Wednesday I put in a long day- arrived at 9:30 am and stayed till 9pm-  it was a long hard day packing up things.  That evening they had help to move out all the furniture. Today I drove out this morning work until I have to pick up Natasha and Bridget at the airport at 1:40- It is alot of work. I spend all day doing laundry and packing- I took some laundry home with me last night- two loads and finished at our Draper home.  Lexi was able to sleep over last which gave me a night to stay at my Draper home.  I was up till midnight finishing up the laundry and way watching the daily news.  I’m really tired.

Baby Sitting Thomas Grandkids

I drive down Tuesday morning May 7th to start my babysitting shift. Lexy their Nanny works Tuesdays afternoon- I arrived at 2:30 pm.  The weather has turned cold and rainy again.  It snowed again on the mountain benches and snowed on me driving down.  It rained most of the day Wednesday and yesterday. It cleared up yesterday afternoon just in time for the boys to attend their LaCross practise times- they kids have a busy schedule.  The house keepers came yesterday morning at 8:30 am- I barely got the kids out the door for school and they arrived.   It has been really windy and cold an another cool day- Coco was in school all day on Thursday 9-4pm so this freed up my day.  I was able to go to our Draper home and spend time there for 5 hours.  I put all my Easter decorations away.  It felt good to spend sometime at our Draper home.  We haven’t spent much time there this spring.  With our YSA calling we are back and forth to the lake and not able to stay long.  Yeah they have started working on the driveway footings-  yesterday Craig called and said they had a chalking day digging - they broke the water line to the house and then digging on the highway side they hit the city water line and broke it.  They had the entire Garden City worker out working on repairing it by late after noon they got it all repaired.  Craig said it was a mess and good that he was there. The weather has been challenging for them at the lake too -windy raining and cold for this time of year.  We are all ready for things to warm up.  The forecast is suppose to warm up this next week and have sunshine which will feel so nice.  Today - Friday is early day for the kids - they will all be home by 2:30 pm-  I would like to tidy up the back yard.  The pool maintenance cleaned and open the pool up - when the weather warms up we can use the pool now for the summer season.  They have a beautiful home and yard.  Crazy it has been a year now since they started moving in this time last year.  I worked for two weeks helping them pack and move things in.  They house was a mess with workers everywhere.  They have come a long ways since last year.  It all has turned out so beatiful. It is an amazing home. So proud of our baby girl and all her hard work and things she has accomplished with her growing g business.  They have been in London for a week today- they have one more week to explore - they are heading to Paris this next week. With my free time I have been able to work in family history - trying to get all the things I have collected on scanned and loaded on my ancestry account and family search.  When the kids get home today and weather had warmed up we can tidy the back yard from all the wind and rain this last week and they should be able to play in the yard now.  We will have a busy schedule Saturday afternoon with the boys sports to attend.  Sunday is Mother’s Day- not sure what we’re doing- got to figure that out- Craig has to be at church Sunday in the YSA branch and I’m here at the Thomas house. We could take a drive up late Saturday evening- the boys are busy for the evening with a birthday party and end of the season LaCross banquet-  So don’t  know if it is worth the 3 hour drive up and then have to be back Sunday evening for the kids to attend school on Monday- it would be a fast trip and spend more time driving than actually there- the weather needs to warm up at the lake.  It will be much nicer weather here in Sandy- Craig just needs to come down and spend a few days here with us-

Sabbath Day/ Fast Sunday

We were not going to be here this Sunday. But plans changed and we made it back to the lake.
Brother & Sister Rassumsen were going to be the only ones here this Sunday but Smoot made it back in town on their red eye flight from Hawaii and we drove up arriving yesterday afternoon- so the Branch presidency is all here today-  we were the only one last week.  We have 16 YSA attending this week.  6 are visitors- adults attending the  branch presidency 6-, brother and sister Droesbeke- Brother Carlsen our stake councilor, Victor is here today, he came last week for the first time since we were called. So glad he is attending with us. April is working at Mikes with Victor and sure she has been giving him a ride to church.  Paige and Olivia are here wearing the two Ivy City dresses I gave them last week.  They look so pretty in them.

Back To The Lake

We had a short 24 hours in Draper- we were able to see Natasha and Bridger off on their trip to Europe. We stopped by their home to visit and picked up Craig’s new tennis shoes he ordered to play pickleball in. He needed some better shoes to help not tear the muscle in his calf area.  He needs more support.  We played twice this last week but he still needs healing time from his time play with Dave in April.  Very frustrating for Craig.  Slowing down is hard for him.  Bridger asked us to take his truck in to have repaired while they are out of town.  We had to drive it to Layton and drop it off.  That was an hour there and back. From there we met with Aunt Cheryl for Craig to deliver the two Annuity policy’s he has been working on the past three months.  It has been a lot of stress for him- we had a nice visit with his aunt - who is a sister to his mother LaVon- they both like purple- she had to show us the new purple dress she just bought. We were beat afterwards and we had to go home to rest.  I needed my afternoon nap.  Watched the news and I was out for an hour.  Craig watched his basketball finials and I worked on family history for the evening. We were up till midnight.  This morning, we packed up, tidy thing up and out the door- it is a lovely day- the sun is out and warming up.  We are having lunch in Evanston and back to the lake to attend our Sunday meetings tomorrow.  Craig has lots to do tomorrow and wanted to get back to the lake- enjoying this lovely spring day-

Our Draper Home/ May is Here/ Working On Family History

The weather has turned cold and rainy for the first week of May.  Not much to do right now at the lake until it warms up so we can get outside- it felt good in April to have it warm up some so we could get outside and do some spring cleaning -the snow is gone which is so nice. We still had a lot of snow and the lake was still frozen this time last year so glad to have a warmer spring this year.  Spring is here at the lake and the buds on the trees are popping out.  We played pickleball two days this week Tuesday morning and Thursday- I started working on family history loading pictures of ancestors on my ancestry account and duplicated the same info on my Family search account.  This gives me something to do with my time inside productive until it warms up.  I have lots to do.  I was counseled to store my family research on my ancestry account this way no one can go into it and make changes that are not correct.  I’m having this problem in family search.  It is an open family chart on each ancestor and anyone can add and make changes.  Last month I was really frustrated with a man on family search, who kept unlinking my 3 great grand-mother from the family tree.  I would add her and he would take her out leaving my family line hanging out, unlinked to the family line when I have documentation proving I’m correct.  I had to call family search and complain and ask what I can do.  They told me yes it can be a problem so it is good to have my backup family research on my ancestry account.  They had to open up family search to the world to add contribution so they can get the temple work done before the second coming is what the family search assistant told me.  He advised I was doing the right things - we just have to be patient with those frustrating contributors and try to work together.  Which I did - I was finally able to talk to the man making changes and was able to appease him to my point of view. I told him I would like to work with him in our research.  I had to take my Sarah Conway out of the family Chart and link her to Thomas Conway with an unknown mother for now.  So at least she is still connected to the family line.  This family connection means a lot to me because it links me to Pocahontas our native American family tree.  Family history is a lot of work- so I’m back at it in my spare time. It is time consuming and I have to pace myself.  I worked Wednesday night and yesterday afternoon on my 1st cousin once removed family chart added the old photos I have and completing his family chart of siblings adding sources to verify the correct vital information and adding it in family search.  It is all missing from family search- if I haven’t added on family search.  I don’t have anyone contesting on this family branch.   Craig was getting antsy and not much to do so he wanted to drive down and spend a few days in Draper.  We meet with the cement contractor just before leaving town to finalize things.  It is official - finally finding someone to do the work on our driveway- it is costing us more than we would like but just have to look at it as our inheritance to the family.  It should be done sometime around the first of June- if they can get going in the next week.  I’m so excited to finally get this huge project done- it has been over-due for 8 years- have been wanting since we moved to the lake fulltime- tired of it looking messy on the road side.  It will be nice to clean things up on the Gygi side of our home. They have got to do some cleanup this year their fence has all come down from the snow pushing on it and it has not been maintained by their family the past few years. Norma and Gerry are getting too old now and it is up to their children to get things done which they don’t do much of anything- it is starting to look really sad-I’m tired of it looking like the Hillbilly’s on our side - so it will be so nice to get things cleaned up- that side of the house has been a mess for way too long.  We drove down last night- so hanging out in Draper for a few days

Howards parents, able to submitt Howard my 1st cousin on the Bailes side and his family for their temple work to be completed.  Howard is the cousin I met in 1991 who helped me get started on organizing the Bailes family tree and added family names,  It has been a been a 33 years project for me and amazing how the family tree has been able to be filled in my all my research over the years.  I know there are going to be lots of happy relative on the other side of the veil and Thank me for the work I have done in finding their names and submitting to the temple.  It has been my life work and brings me great job.

YSA Weekly Activity

We had a fun time. Few in numbers this week.  We carpooled with 4 in our car. We attended listening to our speaker Brooke Romney on building relationships in our families and self-esteem in youth- at the High School in Randolph.  They served us dinner and then we gathered in the auditorium to listen to the guest speaker.  She was very motiving.  Took a few pictures of our small group attending this weekly activity. We had fun in our Car ride home playing the ABC going on a trip game and learning more about each other.  We ended our activity having ice cream at the Local Chevron in Garden City.
