Sabbath Day/ Building Zion On Earth Now

This past week has gone by really fast. We have kept busy.   I woke up feeling restless.  What I’m I to do with myself? I’m feeling so frustrated wanting to get a place in the valley yet so tired of looking and nothing seems to be working for us.  I know  Craig wants to stay another year here at the lake. Right now it just seems so long to me.  I’m so homesick to go back full time to the valley and be closer to my kids.  Yet I know we want to officially serve a mission, thinking we can leave when Coles leaves next June 2020.  I just pray for the direction I need at this season.  Looking for a home just keeps me in an unsettle mood.   I read the conference talk this morning by Apostle  Todd D Christensen preparing for the second coming of the Savior.  “In that moment, the Holy Spirit affirmed two things to me. First, the work of ministering to temporal needs is vital and must continue. The second was unexpected, yet powerful and clear. It was this: beyond selfless service, it is supremely important to prepare the world for the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.!!!...The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is uniquely empowered and commissioned to accomplish the necessary preparations for the Lord’s Second Coming; indeed, it was restored for that purpose. Can you find anywhere else a people who embrace the present era as the prophesied “dispensation of the fulness of times,” in which God has purposed to “gather together in one all things in Christ”?...accomplishing what needs to be accomplished for both the living and the dead to prepare for that day,...What can we do to prepare now for that day? We can prepare ourselves as a people; we can gather the Lord’s covenant people; and we can help redeem the promise of salvation “made to the fathers,” our ancestors. All of this must occur in some substantial measure before the Lord comes again....First, and crucial for the Lord’s return, is the presence on the earth of a people prepared to receive Him at His coming....in ancient times, God took the righteous city of Zion to Himself. By contrast, in the last days a new Zion will receive the Lord at His return. Zion is the pure in heart, a people of one heart and one mind, dwelling in righteousness with no poor among them. The Prophet Joseph Smith stated, “We ought to have the building up of Zion as our greatest object.” We build up Zion in our homes, wards, branches, and stakes through unity, godliness, and charity.... As President Russell M. Nelson explained in general conference last October, “The long-standing objective of the Church is to assist all members to increase their faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and in His Atonement, to assist them in making and keeping their covenants with God, and to strengthen and seal their families.” Accordingly, he emphasizes the significance of temple covenants, hallowing the Sabbath, and a daily feasting upon the gospel, centered at home and supported by an integrated study curriculum at church. We want to know about the Lord, and we want to know the Lord....As President Russell M. We want to know about the Lord, and we want to know the Lord....An underlying effort in building Zion is the gathering of the Lord’s long-dispersed covenant people. “We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes.... Lord Himself prophesied that before His return, the gospel would be preached in all the world “to recover [His] people, which are of the house of Israel,” “and then shall the end come.” Jeremiah’s prophecy is being fulfilled:... President Nelson has repeatedly emphasized that the “gathering [of Israel] is the most important thing taking place on earth today. Nothing else compares in magnitude, nothing else compares in importance, nothing else compares in majesty. And if you choose to, … you can be a big part of it.” The Latter-day Saints have always been a missionary people. Hundreds of thousands have responded to mission calls since the beginning of the Restoration; tens of thousands currently serve. And, as Elder Quentin L. Cook has just taught, all of us can participate in simple and natural ways, in love, inviting others to join us at church, visit in our homes, become part of our circle....Publication of the Book of Mormon was the signal that the gathering had begun. The Book of Mormon itself is the instrument of gathering and conversion.... Also vital to the preparation for the Second Coming is the great redemptive effort on behalf of our ancestors. The Lord promised to send Elijah the prophet before the Second Coming, “the great and dreadful day of the Lord,” to “reveal … the Priesthood” and “plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers.” Elijah did come as promised. The date was April 3, 1836; the place was the Kirtland Temple. In that place and in that moment, he did indeed confer the promised priesthood, the keys for the redemption of the dead and the union of husbands, wives, and families across all generations of time and throughout all eternity. Without this, the purpose of creation would be frustrated, and in that sense, the earth would be cursed or “utterly wasted.”...While we strive to be diligent in building up Zion, including our part in the gathering of the Lord’s elect and the redemption of the dead, we should pause to remember that it is the Lord’s work and He is doing it. He is the Lord of the vineyard, and we are His servants. He bids us labor in the vineyard with our might this “last time,” and He labors with us....This great and last dispensation is building steadily to its climax—Zion on earth being joined with Zion from above at the Savior’s glorious return. The Church of Jesus Christ is commissioned to prepare—and is preparing—the world for that day.... In reading this conference talk I can see the importance of missionary work, in helping to prepare the world for the second coming,  I want to be a part of this great army of gathering Zion on earth.  Pray I can listen to the promptings of the spirit and do my part.   I know the church is true with all my heart I am so very blessed I love the book of Mormon and I know this book is true- pray that I can have the courage to share a book of Mormon with those around me.  I pray for the insight that is needed this season in our lives.  I truly do want to do the Lords work and be a servant in his hands. Brother and Sister Menlove received her mission call this past week and are going to Cairo Egypt.  As a service Humanitarian mission for the Church.  They are so brave!!! Pray I can prepare myself for my church meetings today and be spiritually uplifting.

Star Valley Temple

We got up early this morning and drove to Afton WY to attend the temple.  It is a pretty drive.  Spring is slowly coming up north.  It was a nice session to attend with Ward members.  It was our Ward Temple activity for the month.   The Star Valley Temple is very small but so beautiful.  We had 5 couples attend with us.  Afterwards we had a nice lunch with everyone.   Heading back home now.  The weather is cooler today, but the sun is out.   We are so anxious for summer to arrive,  fun to see the lake coming up this year.  I had to take a nap,  I slept for a couple of hours.  I wore myself out weeding this week.  I still have more to do another hard week and it will be completed.  Jackie and Flint were so surprised to see how much work we have done.  I’m hoping to get a good batch of raspberries this year after I get the raspberry patch weeded.  They took us out to dinner, fun to visit with our favorite cousins.

Friday / Losing Weight

I’m so excited!  I weighed in this morning and I’m down to 170.4 lbs.  I’m slowly dropping down- I really want to get down to 169lbs. by Monday and keep going I’ve got to get 10 pounds off before summer arrives. I’ll feel so much better- I’m so bloated in my stomach area really want to get it down.  I woke up early about 7 AM this morning I spent some time dusting upstairs and wiping down all the doors and baseboards.  I have spent time reading the Come Follow me lesson to stay on schedule and learn the lessons learned today.  I love the story of the Good Samaritan.  And story of Martha & Mary.  Is it ever difficult to fit spiritual things into our family schedule?  The Lesson learned is to make spiritual learning an important part of our lives daily to build us spiritually.   I’m going to spend more time working in the working in the yard!!  And feeding my spirit!!  I love the Come Follow Me Schedule and lesson material to follow each week.  Keep up the good work!

Thursday A Beautiful Day

I woke up early this morning 6 AM to go play pickle ball at Montpelier with my girlfriend.  On the way I practice The sacrament prayers for the bread and water trying to commit to memory I think I have it and then a few days later I have a memory lapse on certain parts so just keep repeating daily and I’ll get it. I’ve heard the sacrament prayer my entire life -I haven’t committed to memory this is part of my young women value- that is used for divine nature -is to memorize the sacrament prayers- it’s a good reminder each day to always remember our Savior Jesus Christ and keep the commandments that he has given us. I’m going to recite the prayer and see if I get it right.

“ Oh God the eternal father we ask the in the name of thy son Jesus Christ to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy son and witness unto the thee the oh God the eternal father that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy son and always remember him and keep his commandments which he has given them that they may always have his spirit to be with them amen

Oh God the eternal father we ask thee in the name of thy son Jesus Christ, To bless and sanctify this water to the souls of all those who drink of it, That they may do it in remembrance of the blood of thy son Jesus Christ, That they may witness into thee oh God eternal father, That they do always remember him that they may have his spirit to be with them amen

I had fun playing Pickleball -got 2 hours of good exercise in.  I then came home and spent the day working in the yard.  I’m still working on cleaning out the upper flower beds of weeds on the Biessinger side of the yard.  I’m at the raspberry patch area now.  I want to clear out and fertilize so we can have some good raspberries this year.  The weeds have taken over and they have not produced much.  Cleaning them out will help greatly.   Fun to see how they do this summer.  As I sit resting on the pouch- two beautiful Pelicans came floating by- they are big birds- fun to watch.   I had to come in and take a two hour nap from my hard-working time in the yard- it kicks my butt.  It feels so good to be outside.  I sprayed Roundup on the areas that I’ve weeded so far there are lots of seedlings popping up-  I want to keep the weeds from not coming back after all my hard work.  I have put a full day in.

Our Family Easter Dinner

We left after Sacrament to drive to Sandy to have a family Easter dinner at Tasha & Bridger’s home.  All our family would be there except the Towner family and Michael this year.  Michael went to spent a week with his grandparents in San Diego, California.   We had a fun Easter egg hunt with the grandkids.  Cole found the Golden $5.00 egg this year.   The weather was on the rainy cool side but we had a break in the rain so we could have our Easter egg hunt. Our dinner was yummy.   We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and everyone brought something to go with our meal.  I enjoyed spending time with our family this Easter Sunday.  We slept over.  Annie slept in the middle of the bed with us. She is a kicker -kicking me all night long in her sleep.  I woke up several times thinking it was time to get up, 2am, 4am, 6am I finally got up and cleaned up for the day.

Cole with the Golden Egg

I made a fun Easter Cake this year

Our Annie Girl- Happy Easter!

Craig has to take our car in to have it repaired,  I borrowed Tasha’s car to drive by several home to see if we are interested in any of them. No luck.  We are just having a hard time finding what we want at this season in our lives.  Looks like to stay in our budget we are going to have buy some thing and remodel.   Just have to be patient for the right home for us.  Craig has to go to the dentist.  He has three teeth needing repair.  He was not in a good mood with his teeth and the car repairs.  Frustrating for him.  We headed home late afternoon. I’m always tired after the drive.  I’m out- put things away and ready for bed.  I couldn’t stay awake and went to bed early.   Tuesday morning I got up early to play Pickleball in Montpellier a half an hour drive there.  Craig came with me this week.  The ladies enjoyed having him there which challenges us all to play better.   I spent the day putting my Easter decorations away and cleaning up putting things away in the garage in our new cabinets.  It is nice to have the storage in our lower garage to store my holiday decorations.  I love decorating for the holidays.  Easter was fun for me this year to be creative and put out the decorations I have collected- which I have not gotten out for the the past two Easter’s. I forgot what I had.  I worked hard putting things neatly away and sorting things, leaning things out for summer coming up.  I put things in the storage, cleaning out the closets and putting things away that I don’t need for the summer months.  With all the family here in the summer months it is better to have less out.    I wore my self out and ready for bed early again.  Craig had Bishopric meeting and I fell asleep while he was gone.  I worked up again early this morning and played pickleball for two hours with our friends in Garden City at the KOA Pickleball courts.  It was a good workout.  It wore Craig and I out.  We had to take a nap. By 1pm I headed outside to work in the yard.  I spent about 2 hours weeding, clearing out the upper flowers beds by the highway.  Over a 120 feet is on the Biessinger’s side.  They are going to be so surprised to see how much work we have done for them this years.  The weeds had taken over our rock retaining beds with wild grass and these terrible spike weeds.  I have worked hard cleaning out to the ground level,  I’m spraying round up to up kill out the seedlings and control the weeds from coming back.  I want to plant wild flowers after I get it all cleaned out.  I’m only about halfway there.  It is a lot of work but looks so much better.   I want to plant fall bulbs so I can have spring flowers next year -this year I’m going to plant a row of flower,  it will look great when I get it all done.  Shannon called and we talked for a couple of hours.   I’m so proud of her and the progress she is making in healing her body.  I’m so thankful to my Heavenly Father for the blessing of healing.  Shannon has come a long ways.  So exciting to see the journey she is on.  The Lord is healing her so that she can live a more fuller life.  She has suffered much for over 10 years.  So fun to see her out and about.  We are so blessed as parents.  I fixed us a yummy dinner tonight and watching the Jazz basketball play off game tonight with my hubby.  I plan on getting up early in the morning again to play pickleball in Montpellier.  Trying to get more exercise and lose some weight.  I have got to get 19 pounds off by summer.  I hate being this heavy.  I carry all my extra weight in my stomach.   I really want to get below 170lbs this week.  Working on more exercise and watching  what I eat.

Our Austin

For those that know our family well know that our sweet Austin has struggled with what is called severe Atopic Dermatitis(eczema) since he was born. The FDA just recently approved a new medication for eczema. It’s the first medication of its kind. It is very expensive and unfortunately not covered by our insurance. But thanks to his amazing doctor Austin is now able to try this medication for the next 12 months for free! We are so hopeful that this will be the life changing medication we have been praying for! And we’re so grateful to be living in a time with so many medical advancements. What a blessing! Thank you Dupixent!
Our Austin Noriega.  He is playing softball this year and enjoying it.  He is a fine young man in our
 family.  Go Austin!!

Easter Sunday

Speaking Sister & Brother Menlove’s-  announced their senior mission call for 18 months to the North Western Africa, Kiro Egypt.  They leave July 1st.    Going to miss them so very much.

Highlights- conference talk of sister Eubank- The Savior is no respecter of persons.  Loves us all.   Make and keep sacred covenants, stay in the path,  love the Savior with all our hearts.  -Talk brother Wallfale talked about his brother dying at 63 yrs old and not a member, but to never give up.  Easter season reflect on what the Savior has done for us.  Very touching talk she shared about the power of prayer her daughter moving to Kansas just got there and son in law in pain had to go tor the hospital. A Sister in the ward just showed up not knowing what was needed but guided there to help it had just been a few hours since they showed up moving there.  She did not know them, she had listen to the prompting of the the Holy Spirit to up their family.

Brother Menlove:  emotions felt at the time enhance our memory in remembering things in our lives.   Our we are to remember those things in our lives that are important.   Remember the Savior in our lives.  remember visiting Israel and the Garden tomb -  was the the most memorable.  What are my sacrifice,  we need a broken heart.. to serve others, come follow me... sacrament prayer to always Remember the Savior to acknowledge the weekly sacrament as the focal point of the weekly experience in remembering the Savior.  A Great talk!!

Friday A Beautiful Spring Day/ Easter Time with Boston

The weather is warming up, probably our warmest day of the year in the 60s today., yesterday was a beautiful day too, I’m sitting out on our deck enjoying the morning sunshine, yesterday was a full day for our family. Trisha and Buck came up on Tuesday while the kids are on their Easter break they’ll be leaving to go home later today- we plan on gathering at Tasha’s house Easter Sunday after our church meeting.   We have kept busy this week- our yard is greening up- I have been clearing out the upper flower bed to look at nicer this year.  I want to plant wild flower seed to see how they do instead of weeds growing.  Yesterday we’d our game night with the couples we play games with once a month.  I spent the day cooking and getting ready.  I made a yummy salad, carrot dish- I haven't made for years- with peas on top- one of our favorites.  I cooked salmon and rolls.  I also made the cutest Easter theme carrot cake I saw on Pinterest.  It turned out so cute I should have taken a picture.   It turned out to be a yummy dinner,  I cooked all day long.  Wednesday I fixed dinner for the Lopez Family, so I have cooked a lot this week.  Tuesday and Wednesday morning I enjoyed getting up early and playing pickle ball in the morning.  I drive the 30 minutes to Montpelier to play on Tuesday and Thursday mornings some ladies up in there- it’s good practice for me.   Wednesday- Cindy called and we were able to meet at ideal Beach to play pickleball  She has a herniated disc in her neck and has had to take time off so it was fun to finally play with her again.  I’ve been working hard weeding the upper area by the highway it’s going to look a lot nicer this year.  The lake is coming up!! Today’s going to be a beautiful sunny day.  I think I’ll take Boston to the Garden City Easter egg hunt at 11 AM this morning- we colored Easter eggs yesterday.  Fun to spend time with him.

Sabbath Day

I made it to Sacrament.  Feels good to be in church and feel a spirit of peace.  Sacrament  meeting message-  What is my favorite Conference talk?  Sister Hassie spoke and her husband brother Gifford.  What conference talk spoke to their heart?   Hassie mentioned the talked by Sister Caven, which I thought was a great talk too-being more careful and not careless in our membership.   What can I do to be more careful?  Listen more intently when you know you are speaking in sacrament helps to be more attentive

Henery B Erying talked - April 6th the day the church was organized  1830 we are now at 189 annual general conference today.  I love this talk too after just being there at the church history site in the fall.  I loved our church history tour.  It has made my membership in the church more meaningful!!  The downfall in the church is the dimensioning  of our love for the Savior, no more desire to do evil brings us closer to the Lord.   Engulf in total Love and Charity we can be pain free.   Story that Tally shared about her husband when he was burned badly.  And not feeling pain after his terrible  accident.   Total love heals- all seek charity...  pure love of Christ.  Moroni 6-7 message of charity. Tally Johnson is such a good teacher in Relief Society.  I enjoyed our Sacrament meeting and Relief Society today I feel my spirit lifted by being in attendance.

Who Was John ?

The Gospel of John

Who was John? John was a disciple of John the Baptist and later became one of the first followers of Jesus Christ and one of His Twelve Apostles. He wrote the Gospel of John, several epistles, and the book of Revelation. In his Gospel, he referred to himself as the disciple “whom Jesus loved” and the “other disciple” (John 13:23; 20:3). John’s zeal for preaching the gospel was so strong that he asked to stay on the earth until the Savior’s Second Coming so he could bring souls unto Christ (see D&C 7:1–6). I love this information I learn about John in the D & C -  1 And the Lord said unto me: John, my beloved, what desirest thou? For if you shall ask what you will, it shall be granted unto you.

2 And I said unto him: Lord, give unto me power over death, that I may live and bring souls unto thee.

3 And the Lord said unto me: Verily, verily, I say unto thee, because thou desirest this thou shalt tarry until I come in my glory, and shalt prophesy before nations, kindreds, tongues and people. 5 I say unto thee, Peter, this was a good desire; but my beloved has desired that he might do more, or a greater work yet among men than what he has before done.

6 Yea, he has undertaken a greater work; therefore I will make him as flaming fire and a ministering angel; he shall minister for those who shall be heirs of salvation who shall dwell on the earth..   John is till here preparing the earth for the Saviors second coming.

Monday

Today is going to be the warmest day of the year so far at the lake get up to about 55 degrees today. The sun is out and it is a lovely day.  We gathered the garage up for the Monday garbage collection. We have said our morning Prayers for a safe day in Our activities this day and watchful care over our grandchildren and daughters- That they may be also be safe in their many activities.  Craig went to the Post office and picking up a tractor and trailer to clean up the slugged piled up on the lake bed, before the lake comes up.  With the spring run off the lake is going to be up high again this year.   We bought out Trisha & Buck in the partnership of our boat.  They need the money for their new home they are building.  It is coming along, all framed and the roof on.  They are starting the insulation and sheet rock this coming week.  I know they are all really anxious to get in their new home.  I keep looking for a home for us and it is just not happening.  We are having a hard time finding the right fit for us.  Just have to be patient with the process.   We have plenty to keep us busy at lake.  Lots to do with the weather warmer up.  I really want to get the retaining done for our driveway and steps down to the lower lawn this year.   Time for spring cleaning and working in the yard- which feels really good to be outside.   I have got  to lose weight.  I’m at my all time high 175 lbs.  I gained over the winter months.  It will be nice to be more active and get this weight off by summer.  I want to lose 15 lbs. by the end of May.  That will put me in the 160 mark and then work on losing another 10 pounds.  I would really like to get down to 150 again.   Something I have t seen since 2016.   I got down to 148 lbs. on my nutria system diet but couldn’t keep it off -I slowly gained weight back.  Guess with me getting older 150 is the best weight for me to maintain.  Get my butt going !!!
