Temple Building

SALT LAKE CITY — President Russell M. Nelson, the 100-year-old leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will dedicate the Deseret Peak Utah Temple.

The temple, located in Tooele, will be the church's 200th temple, with its dedication on Nov. 10.

Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will accompany President Nelson at the dedication ceremony, the church said Friday.

The ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. and will be broadcast to church meetinghouses in areas assigned to the new temple, live at 4 p.m. and again at 7 p.m.

The church said the temple has been a "beacon of faith and community" since it was announcedin 2021 and will provide a "sacred space for worship and spiritual growth" to members living around the Tooele Valley.

public open house for the temple occurred between Sept. 26 and Oct. 19. The church said thousands of visitors toured the temple during that time.

At the church's general conference earlier this month, President Nelson said the church builds temples because "the Lord has instructed us to do so."

"The blessings of the temple help to gather Israel on both sides of the veil. These blessings also help to prepare a people who will help prepare the world for the second coming of the Lord!" he said.

Earlier this year, President Nelson rededicated-the Manti Utah Temple.“such blessing in our lives to witness temples are dotting the earth.   We are the saints on thr earth now to prepare the world for the savior second coming is so exciting to me.  I pray I can my my part and make a contribution in building the kingdom of God on the eath now - prophecy is being fullfilled before our very eyes- the savior will return and be amongst us in the next ten years - a decade to never be forgotten as stressed in our October 2024 general conference.  There are many more temples announced and being built- we are so excited for our temple district- Montpiller, Idaho temple to be completed in 2026- I’m waiting in the church foyer while Craig in meeting with a young single adult sister- working on her repentance process.  I’m so blessed to be married to a man who is striving to honor is calling serving as the Branch president in the Bear lake young single adult branch.  We are few in numbers during the fall and winter season- we are striving to get our numbers up by reaching out to the less active.  Craig and I are serving with all our hearts and effort to give in this calling and very thankful in this season of our lives to be serving- this is our mission to complete for the next two years-  we should be released in Ausust of 2026- for now this is where our efforts are devoted in building the kingdom of God in this part of his vineyard.  Looking forward to hosting a fun Halloween YSA party this coming Tuesday evening.

Back at the Lake

Monday I had one more day to babysit the Thomas grandkids and the kitty.  The kids were out of school for Thursday, Friday and Monday for fall break. Lexi their nanny was able to pick up a shift by Monday evening  which allowed me to come back to the lake.  I spent a few hours Monday cleaning up from the Towner famiky staying at our Draper home and cleaning up from our Halloween party.  It was a race to get done what I could before Craig wanted to be on the road.  We had to get back up to lake to clean out the garage.  We had to get everything out and ready for the contractor on Tuesday morning to start working in epoxy process for our garage floor-  it is a three day process.  Moving from one thing to the next- I was feeling frazzled but keep going- contractors didn’t arrived until afternoon which gave us more time to clear things out.  My poor hubby looks beat up. He started a pre cancer treatment two weeks ago putting a cream on his face and twice daily- his face is looking bad before it looks better and then moving things out Monday night one of the cabinets hit him in the forehead leaving a gash on his forehead.  Clint England came to help lift some things out and butterfly Craig split head.  Clint is.a trained paramedic and knows how to treat his wound.  Tuesday and Wednesday I spent time cleaning up from the hunting weekend with the guys.  Laundry, making beds, ans vaccuming.  I had to move all my plants back outside that I had moved in last week before I left to baby sit. It didn’t freeze so I could have left them out. Well that has been a her for me.  They are so messy.  Wednesday was a record breaking day for being so warm this time of year 75 degrees.  It felt so nice outside.  I cleaned out the upper deck for the bird pop and washed all the railing. Finished moving my plant outside and dead heading all dlowrs and leaves cleaning them all up-  the weather is suppose to turn cold soon - but keeping them alive as long as I came. It was a chore cleaning up after them all and moved back into the upper porch.  Our fridge died while I was gone over the hunting weekend so we do t have a fridge in my upstairs kitchen- we are eating in the downstairs kitchenette. I enjoyed our lovely day of unually warm weather for this time of year.  Today is going ti be 20 degress cooler.  They should be finishing up the garage floor today.  It is looking so nice- this will finish up our projects for this year.  Criag was able to work on hooking up the propane tank to our new generator that will run the house in an event were we lose power.- hard times are coming the signs of the pre millennium are upon us.  Trying to prepare the best we can -

Enzo Towner Baptism Day

This has been a very special day to witness the baptism of our 19th grandchild out of our 20-  we have only two left to be baptized our little Ashtyn who is 8 years old in June 2024 and our little Cora Rose who is 4 years old.  She will be our last grand child.  We are so blessed as grandparents to witness these special commitments in each of our grand children’s lives.  We were able to get ready and attend our Sacramwnt meeting in the Thomas Ward.  Stacy, Enzo and Farrah met us at church to attend with us from there we headed to my Draper home to prepare for Enzo baptism at 4pm.  Stacy had a few errands, we cut up strawberries and I make two large cookie sheets of pumpkin brownies that are so yummy a family favorite.  We got everything ready just in time to leave for the church at 3pm to set things up for the family dinner afterwards.  In the middle of it all baby sitting Ani, Coco and their new baby kitten Cosmo- I had to take it to the eye vet on Friday morning- they have had it for only 5 days and it’s little eye started looking bad.  Natasha took it into the vet on Monday and started treatment for the eye- by Friday it was getting worse and I took it in to be checked.  It looks like it has a coronavirus for cats and it is hard to treat. Most cats die from it.  The eye going bad is one o. The symptoms.  So sad !  Thwy spent a lot of money on this cat- $2,000.00 and now have an unhealthy cat.  We ordered another medication that comes in the mail on Monday October 21st to take for two weeks costing $250,00 this the lay medication to try to save the kitty.  We had to take the kitty with us to the baptism.  It stayed in its little carrying case.  Enzo was baptized along with his Towner cousin Abraham Towner son of Jason and Kenzie.  It was fun to have a combined baptism with cousins the same age. Noriega’s attended and Aubrey spoke about baptism.  She has such a sweet and tender spirit and was very interesting as she shared thoughts from serving her mission and witness baptized comverts.  This has ended been a very special day in our lives.  I was beat from our full day.  Stacy and her family were up early 6am and out the door to fly home back to California.  They crammed  it all in- the guys had fun hunting, Jude shot his first buck, our family Halloween party, and Enzo’s baptism.

Our Family Halloween Party

The month of October is passing quickly.  I have had fun decorating for Halloween this year.  I’m glad I started early. I had it all done by the middle of Sept which was good timing- with Romona in town for 11 days and then spending a week catching up with chores at the lake getting ready for the winter season - we had lots to do around our lake home. I was able to slowly clean things up from their visit, paint the trim around the garage door and upper windows and wash the windows. It all looks so much better.  I was barely able to get it done when I had to leave to go baby sit the Thomas grandkids for for five days while Bridger and Natasha leave for Italy- they left on Wednesday October 16th.  Stacy and her family arrived that evening from California for 4 days.  We crammed the family events in a short time.  I wanted to host my annual Halloween party with the Towner family in town this year.  The boys were all going hunting so Craig would be at the cabin hosting them all and I’m babysitting the Thomas grandkids.  They all had a great time Thursday hanging out with their cousins- Friday the boys left for hunting.  Saturday evening I hosted my Halloween party.  In invited the Towner cousins to attend.  We only had Farrah, Enzo, Anni, Cora , Ashtyn attending from our family. All my grandkids are getting older- I love the season for the younger grandkids kids.  Sharlena, Jacob and Aubrey came dressed so fun- Shannon and little Ashtyn came too! Inviting the Towner family clan we had 26 Towner cousins, along with their parents - Christy Ann -she has 8 children, Brandon and his oldest son went hunting with Chad, Jude, Yael, and Grandpa Eric Towner- Christy brought her 7 children to the party, Jordan Towner and Katie came with their 2 children- MItch with his 4 kids - Jason and Kenzie with their five, Angela and Jake with their four girls- grandma Anita.  Anita said there were 26 of her grandkids attending out of her 32 Total- they have a large family. It was crazy and fun at the same time. There was 45 of us all together- it was a party !! Annie, Coca and I made 36 mummy dogs that morning getting ready- we then went shopping for some prizes to had out from our games and best costumes.  Arrived at my Draper home at 2pm the party starting at 5 pm - so had three hours to make chili and get all the party food ready. Turn on all the lights ans ans hang glow sticks and get us all ready innour costumes- it was a race agaaint the clock to get it all done in Time.  The Towner’s arriving late which was fine gave us time to finish setting up the last mi it’s things.  We all had a great time.  Everyone loved my Halloween room.   Fun to share with them all-  we played games with all the younger Grankids- passed the ghost around in circle when the music stopped who ever was holding the ghost was out. They loved it and played several time to the music ghost buster- we then played fear factor - they ate things in the caldron pot blindfolded and had to guess what they were eating,  we played twister, Bobbing for apples- the boys loved this game and kept wanting to play - they dipped their entire heads in to grab the apple.  We then had a costume parade for all the kids and I gave out prizes to each family. It was to hard to pick the best costume they are all fun dressed up.  I loved seeing them all.  It was a fun party.  Everyone leaving by 10 pm- I crawled in Bed by 11pm beat.  I had to leave the house a mess and clean up from the party latter.  Headed back to the Thomas home to get the girls to bed.  Coco fell asleep on the way home. We had to be and dressed for church by 10:30 am and get ready for the next famiky event little Enzo Towner’s baptism at 4pm Sunday afternoon - a sigh of relief ! It has been a packed full 4 day weekend-

Working on YSA History

We drove back to the lake yesterday afternoon after Craig’s ultrasound appointment.  We had been gone from the lake for 10 days which went by very fast.  We drove on Sunday September 29th with Romona and Robert to attend Austin’s missionary farewell talk.  We spent Sunday evening, Monday at our Draper home and Tuesday afternoon drove to St George- spending three days down south- we came back from St. George Friday afternoon.  Satirday morning Robert and Ramona flew back home to Florida. We had spent 11 days with them 24 seven it all went by really fast. I was getting tired and ready for a break. Saturday I was in slow motion. I did run some shopping errands and worked on my Halloween room for our upcoming family party.  Craig stayed in St. George on Friday to meet up with Michael for his hunting trip starting Saturday in southern Utah.
Shannon and Ryan drove down Friday evening and met Craig and Michael at Tasha’s home in Ivan’s, they brought Landon with them. Landon was able to stay and go on the hunting trip. He has never been hunting before. Craig said that he had a really nice time and enjoyed it. miss Romona and Robert leaving. I was able to rest for the weekend and have our Draper home to myself. It felt good to have a few days to rejuvenate. I enjoyed listening to General Conference on Saturday and Sunday the conference was so good. I look forward to re-reading and study all of the talks that were given.  Sunday afternoon I drove down to Kaysville to be there for Austin setting apart for his mission. I was so glad that I made the effort to be there and attend with his family.  His state present gave him such an inspiring blessing and preparation for his mission then afterwards went to Barbara Noriega’s home and had dinner.  I enjoyed visiting with Cole and Chase, Austin, Aubrey, Barbara, Noriega and Dave and Shar and Jacob.  I was tired upon arriving home.  Monday, I met Shannon at the Ivy city showroom to pick out a dress for the fashion show.  I spent the afternoon beautifying and getting ready to wear my pretty ivy city dress. Craig arrived home from his hunting trip just a few hours before the event just in time to rest take a quick shower and out the door went. It was a very historical lovely event for Ivy city so proud of our Natasha and all the hard work that she has accomplished in building this company.  Tuesday I babysit for Natasha while she went into work watching little Coco for the day. I spent time tidying things up at her home and got home about 4 PM. I put a full day in really tired when we got home had to take a nap. We enjoyed just staying home for the night and resting at our Draper home. Craig has been in so much pain the past four weeks with bad nerve pain on his C5 six and seven vertebrae in his back. He did get scheduled to have an ultrasound so we can see more what is going on. After his ultrasound we head into the lake. I was anxious to get back up after being gone for 10 days to check on my plants and see if they’re still alive.  We have had very unusual warm weather for this time of year and I had to ask Karen Barlow one of my YSA girls to come water my plants while we were gone. They did fairly well with us being gone.  I’ve had to hand water most of them all summer long. My flowers have been very beautiful this year. I hate for the cold weather to come and kill them off, striving to enjoy them as long as I can.  It feels good to be back at the lake. I forgot to mention yesterday morning I contacted my dear friend Theresa Collins. who has served a mission for three years in Arkansas they just got home in July but we have not been able to connect yet. I wanted to take the time to visit with her. Come to find out they bought a home up in Suncrest, which is only about seven minute drive.

Getting Ready for Halloween

I’m so excited to host a family Halloween party this year.  I have enjoyed decorating.  I’m hosting on Saturday October 19th while the Towner family is in town.  They have not been here for Halloween since 2016- that’s been 8 years since they moved to California.  It will be fun to have their family in town this year.

Awesome Ivy Fashion Show

We enjoyed a lovely evening hosted at the State Capital building last night by Ivy City.  It was all
So beautiful- so proud of our Natasha and her accomplishments. It was fun Shannon and I to go to her show room and pick out a dress for the event.  Shannon and I wore matching dresses and Ashtyn complimented us  We meet and carpooled downtown for the event.  It so fun to visit with friends and enjoy the surroundings.  The state capital building is beautiful on the inside.  It was a huge event to host and Ivy City did amazing.  Such a honor for our state to have amazing women attend from all walks of life dressed in their Ivy City dresses.  There were 100’s in attendance.   I enjoyed seeing all the beauty.  Little Coco was crying and not wanting to leave her mother at the end when many waited in line to have a photo with Natasha- i had to take her away from her mother screaming and try to distract her attention.  Nothing was working finially we found a sucker that grabbed her attention. We then walked up and down the runway area over and over to the music that was being played. She finally cheered up. She was so darling. She started twirling and blowing pretend kisses to the audience that had left-  we walked the fashion show runway over and over to keep her distracted while her mommy could take pictures with Ivy City fanes.  I brought home the most beautiful shades of pink flowers 🌸 that were decorated every where.  They spent a small fortune on fresh flowers for the event.  There were hundreds of women in attendance dressed in their Ivy Dress.  It is so amazing to see all the different dresses that Ivy City has created-

Save our Country

IT’S TIME TO RESCUE THE REPUBLIC - We need YOU to join the resistance. Together, we can restore the values that make our Republic and the Western world so beautiful and worth preserving. "When i watched the Democratic Party National Convention I enjoyed how well it was crafted and staged and reflected on the days when I would host things for MTV like the VMAs. For indeed it is the spectacle of politics because where there are no principles or values to undergird them all that's left is a pantheon of stars and new argots of empty language, tv shows where celebrities are paraded before you to willingly endorse ideas and policies and wars and food and power that they'll never eat or suffer as a consequence." - Russell

Romana Left

We had a great time in the city 11 days she was here with her husband Robert.  The fall has been lovely this year with beautiful fall color as the leaves are turning an array of colors- we spent two days at thr lake and then made our way north
