Sabbath Day Morning

Today is the last Sunday of February-  we woke up at 8:00am - the sun is shining brightly which warms the cold winter day- it feels like a touch of spring is in the air-   I feed our cat Phantom, we have spoil her by giving her a little milk, each feeding which she loves.  She is mewing every morning at the door waiting for us to feed her.  She leaves a few morsels of cat food for the magpies to swoop in and eat what’s left.  She is an out door cat and does well outside surviving the very cold winter nights.  We do keep a pink plastic box on the porch for her to sleep in, with her blanket, sleeping bed and a heating pad to warm her up.  She is just fine to stay outside.  We do occasionally let her in to eat and sit by Craig or I for some petting time.  We inherited her from Trisha and Buck when they moved in the spring of 2017.   She was very wild and mean at first-staying out most of the time she was not very friendly-we have tamed her a lot to where she does like to stay with us when she can.  She does have her moments of biting- We call her bipolar- she can be loving and purring and then all the sudden just bite you, if you don’t touch her just the way she likes. I don’t trust her, I have to watch those cat claws. Craig whacks her hard when she does it and she is much better with him now. She’s funny when you stop petting her and get up to leave, she takes her paw and swipes at you, her way of saying don’t leave me. We do enjoy our cat even though she’s mean at times. I find myself singing in my head a 70's song by the Crosby Stills Nash & Young   “Our house” -  is a very fine house with two cats in the yard...”
  • I'll light the fire, you place the flowers in the vase that you bought today...Staring at the fire for hours and hours while I listen to you...Play your love songs all night long for me, only for me
Come to me now and rest your head for just five minutes, everything is good.. Such a cozy room, the windows are illuminated by the evening Sunshine through them, fiery gems for you, only for you...Our house is a very, very fine house with two cats in the yard, life used to be so hard,
Now everything is easy 'cause of you and our la, la, la...
Our house is a very, very fine house with two cats in the yard, life used to be so hard,
Now everything is easy 'cause of you and our I'll light the fire, while you place the flowers in the vase that you bought today...   I have to say I love this song and it could be one of our theme songs living at the lake.  I counted the geese floating along the shoreline with a mirror water reflection this morning.  There are 20 geese aligned in pairs.  They each have their companion to mate.  I learned they mate for life with one goose.  I love watching them, They are annoying pooping on our lawn in the summer- Craig is constantly shooing them off.  It isn’t fun cleaning up the goose poop when it comes time to mowing the lawn or steeping in it.  https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1QtYptZ-JNbJ1oE7QZRQ53_LGJTL7xcZP

A beautiful winter day love the white fluffy clouds reflecting in the lake against the backdrop of snow.  It is cold burr!! Looking forward to warming days!
I feed Craig breakfast - took his morning pills to control the pain from his knee surgery, dressed in his Sunday suit - he looks so handsome to me -  I brushed the lint off his suit as he hurriedly left for his his early church meetings.  This is his last Sunday conducting sacrament meeting this month.  He does a great job, so proud him- I do have to say he is a very faithful and dedicated leader serving as 1st counselor in the Bishopric.  I’ve looked at the time and I have got to stop reflecting and typing in my Blog for now.  I’ve got to hurry and get myself ready for church and out the door by 11:15am - it’s 10:20 I have less than an hour to work my magic in beautifying myself for the day- better get going.

Our Saturday

I woke up early this morning 6am.  I reflected on what I learned in a few of the roots tech zoom sessions I listened to last night.  I started reading our Wedding digital scrapbook I made to see if it reflected the memories I really wanted to tell about our engagement and wedding day.  I so enjoyed reading it and felt I did express my feelings and thoughts.  This is one thing they suggested to write how I feel about things.  Craig wanted to head out early today to return to the lake.  He is conducting  our sacrament meeting tomorrow and wanted to get back early to prepare.  He also wanted to stop in Randolph at the High School to watch the youth in our ward playing in their basketball finials.  It was a quick two day trip for us to spend some time at our Draper home and to take Landon out for dinner for his birthday.  I was able to finish tidying things up from our large family dinner gathering on Valentine’s Day.  Craig is very good at supporting the youth in our Garden City ward.  So on the road again our days of back and forth from the Lake to our Draper home.  It is a 160 mile drive one way and takes us about 2 hours and 40 minutes.  We keep the road hot almost weekly driving back and forth to doctors appointments and supporting our grandkids in their events and birthdays.  It keeps us busy traveling

I enjoyed the beautiful winter day.  Before leaving town we shopped by Bull Frog Spas to pick up some fragrance for our hot tub.  We then stopped at Costco to buy a few groceries and ink for our printer. Craig likes to print out the announcements and program for sacrament.  Our printer was out of ink last weekend.  I bought a few things on sale like spaghetti sauce and can chicken to add to our food storage. I’m trying to pick-up extra each time we go to the store to add gradually in building up our food storage for a year.  We like can chicken and tuna.
Driving out of town was nerve racking for me, the weather turn to snowing hard.  It was covered snow packed roads up Parleys canyon and all the way past Coleville- about 50 miles of bad roads. A sigh of relief when the snow lifted and the road cleared out.  I was glad Craig was driving.
We stop in Evanston to get something to eat.  Today we tried out Arby’s.  It was a good fish sandwich combo meal.  Being safe wearing our mask.

It is coming up on a year of wearing mask every where we go.  It is the standard thing to do while out in public.   While eating our food - Craig thanked me for taking such good care of Him.  He got all teary eyed.  I could see the tender emotions of his love and gratitude toward me.  It was a special moment we both shared looking into one another’s eyes.  We traded driving- I took a turn driving with the roads cleared out now.  When we arrived at Randolph,  I dropped Craig off at the high school for the state basketball competition -so I could put some make on before going in and find a restroom at the local small town gas station.   Randolph is a very small town with a population of 508- Establish by Mormon pioneers sent out by Brigham young in the 1868. it is where the Rich county courthouse stands today.  It hasn’t grown much over the years.  It is where all the kids from Garden City drive 30 minutes to attend High school.  It feels really strange to me being in this little country town.   I love the old church that stands in the center of town.  https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1caOwGsgl52G0GXZew0Vl4Blr21TFOMoI
I actually enjoyed the basket game.  We are slowly making friends and things are feeling a little more comfortable as we get to know people in the community.  Craig is much more outgoing than me.  He makes friends every easily.  It was fun to observe the cowboy hats and country living clothing of the men in the gym.   This is the largest public gathering for us since last year.  It felt good to be with people again.  I so enjoyed the music playing and noise of the crowd.  I was amazed at how well the band was playing for the event.  At first I thought the music was just through the sound system of recorded music playing when I looked over and saw a band playing.  Wow! I was so surprised !  They are really good.!! Most people were wearing mask.  I felt bad for the cheerleaders wearing them the entire time.  This is a small school only an 1A division in sports competition.  They aren’t very good and the cheerleaders lacked in being sharp, they only have such a small group of students Yet a blessing for them all to be able to participate- an opportunity they would not have within a larger school.  https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Otucs7SLT_m5OnwyDbdL8WrjuK_V99KW

Our school Rich Rebels won big 66 to 47.
It feels good to be back to our lake home.  We empty the car and put things away.   We enjoyed relaxing and watching TV for the evening.  We watched an older movie Dancing with wolves.  Our day has come to a close I’m tired and ready for bed.  There is a lovely full moon shining on the lake tonight.  I got ready for bed while Craig watches his BYU Courage’s basketball game.  I can hardly keep my eyes open as I try finish my Blog entry tonight.  I’m fading - Good night!

Roots Tech 2021

The world’s largest Family history Conference - Roots Tech was hosted February 25-27th online this year- due to not gathering in large congregations, to help not spread the covid-19 virus.  I’m able to watch on my phone.  I enjoyed watching several zoom session about telling and recording our family stories.  My life does matter.  Record the daily and simple things in our lives that tell my life story and our families story.  I have been good at keeping my personal blog and I do add pictures to my life events which I like to do.  I can do better.  They don’t need to be just snap shots pictures taken of our lives. Broaden the pictures I take to include the moments and the things we are doing- record the good and the bad it is part of our life story.
Tonight my dear hubby is sleeping at the moment, peacefully.  That has been a challenge him this past month since his knee surgery.  He only slept about 4 hours last night.  I told him it is like having a baby getting up several times in the middle of the night.  He needs his pain medicine to relieve the throbbing ache in his leg- he wants me with him 24/7 which has made it difficult for me to do much.  I’m getting tired too from the lack of sleep.  Each day is getting better in the  healing process.  He has been very good about going to his rehab sessions twice a week and doing the exercises at home too.  He is very discipline in his efforts.  I’m so glad I have never had to have the surgeries like he has had over the years.  Two complete knee surgeries are painful let alone all the other surgeries on his left knee- adding up about 10 surgeries over the years.  I told him he is my Hero to endure and recover from them all.

Landon Luke’s 13th Birthday

We drove down yesterday afternoon to our Draper home.  We stayed 10 days at the lake.  Craig has been doing his rehab there twice a week-  he is doing really good for a month out.  We left our draper  home not as clean as I would have liked from the baptism dinner with all the family.  I have spent the day cleaning things up and putting things back in place.  We drove out to Eagle Mountain where the Chaudhry family lives after school  to take Landon out for dinner for his birthday.  Hard to believe he is 13 years old.  He is a big boy for his age.  We took him to 7 brothers a hamburger place to eat  that has  a fun costal feeling watching video of the world renown surfer's  while we ear.  We go the kids menu for a smaller portion and it was still more than we could eat.  Landon couldn’t eat all his, he took a box home to eat later.  He had not been there before so it was fun to take him to a new place.  We took Jaxon there for his birthday too. Jaxon recommended that his little brother go there to eat for his birthday dinner as we dropped Jaxon off at his part-time job at Pizza Hut.  Jaxon is 17 and likes having a job to earn some money.  Fun to see him and have a short visit with him in the car.  He likes listening to the same music Craig listens to on the radio the good ole 70 hits- the Beej’s - It was fun to see the Chaudhry family we haven’t seen for over a month.  We have 9 teenagers in the family now.  They are all getting so big.  The years go by all to fast for me.  We are so proud our Landon - he is a very special grandson.

Our Landon Luke Chaudhry 13 years old on his special day celebrating with grandpa and grandma Symes.  Craig gave him $25 cash for his present and he was delighted.  His parents gave him a new scooter.  He loves to the skate park he is very daring practicing his skate jumps and tricks.   He is in the 7th grade and is liking Junior high school.  It has been a different school year with the covid-19 virus effecting all our lives.  He does online schooling at home part-time, days at school it is required wearing a mask the entire time he is at school, which is a state mandate for all school children while in school.   All our grandkids are having to wear mask at school.  When is this going to end ? No end date insight for now.  It has become the usual behavior for now in attending school.  It has been a dreary cold winter day without sunshine- the joy in our lives is visiting our grandkids.  Our little Ashtyn was so excited to see us.  She had to show me her clean room.  We took them our belated Valentine chocolate raspberry treats -they missed our family dinner on Valentine’s Day.  Shannon has acquire a hobby of collecting different kinds of crystals and rocks.  She has become very knowledgeable about them and their healing .  She sets them in the window sill at night on the full moon to give them renew energy powers- they gain from the gravitation of the moon.  She had to tell us all about her newest 14 pound clear crystal she has bought, which has a light to turn on that makes it glow.  It is very pretty.  She then got out her new electric massager and massage my feet and Craig’s back.  It felt very good.  Craig and I want to buy one now that we have experienced hers.  Shannon is very kind to us when we visited she is always Sharing her new adventure in life.  She loves to talk and goes on and on about her views of things happening in the world.  She told me that she text my Sister Michele who lives in Texas a few weeks ago to let her know she needed to prepare for an unusual event to happen where she would need to prepare for electrical outage and lack of water.  She says she has visions of things that are going to happen.  Well sure enough last week the entire state of Texas was in a state of emergency with record low temperatures below zero- freezing up the solar windmills and shutting down the power grids.  The state had frozen water main lines shutting down and millions without power or water.  They received several inches of snow and the freezing temperatures that are so not normal for the climate there.  I talked to my sister They were prepare for the week they were with out power and water. They were blessed to have a generator to heat one room in their house and filled the bathtub with water.  We live in usual times- Shannon said they are so glad we gave them a generator for Christmas so they have something to help them stay warm and run electricity in their home if needed.

Sunshine Today

Sunday thru today has been snowy days- the sunshine is out today-  Craig went to his rehab appointment this morning.  I took the time to take a hot bath and clean up- it feels good.  We are both getting antsy being home bound in the cold winter days.  I feel I’m going to pull my hair out and I know Craig is feeling the same way.  We need to get out and do something.   What? I’m not sure we are limited in what to do right now.  Guess we will just go for a drive and get lunch somewhere.   We ended up having a burger and fries at the Chevron and driving up Logan Canyon to the scenic outlook-  there is lots of snow now.  It was slow coming this year.  We are forecast to have more snow tomorrow and Saturday- thought about driving back down to Our Draper home but we would only be there a few days and have to turn around and come back for church on Sunday-  I’m teaching the adult gospel doctrine class this Sunday- so I’ve got to buckle down and study and prepare to teach.  I woke up not feeling very content and so tired of living fulltime at the lake- I just wanted to leave.   But I’m being patient with my hubby and trying to help him recover from his surgery.  We are going on 4 weeks on Monday-  I know he is restless too.  Hope to spend more time next week at our Draper home-

Winter Is Back

A winter storm rolled thru on Saturday evening.  We got lots of snow at the lake.  It is a winter wonder land out there.  We haven't had much snow this year a dry winter.  Monday was President's day a national holiday so no school for the grandkids.  We had a sleep over with Annie and Farrah while she was in town.  The Towner family left by 9am to get on the road home to California before ahead of the winter storm.  I was so tired when they all left.   It was Exhausting hosting the family for a dinner after Yael’s baptism.  It all turned out very nice.  We had lots of food.  Soups and salad with Valentine cookies and cheese cake. They cleanup wasn’t to bad.  Trisha and Buck came this morning to up load up the tables and chairs and help us move the furniture back in place and they helped clean the garage.  Craig is still limited what he can do from his knee surgery.  I appreciate them being so helpful when we do need help they are the first to be there.   I worked cleaning things up for a bit after they left.  I was so tired I had to crawl in bed and take nap. Craig went to the gym to work on his knee exercises. It felt good to get some rest while he was gone.  When he got home at 3pm we hurried and back up to get out the door ahead of the winter storm drive back to the lake.  He has physical therapy at 9am in the morning so we needed to get back on the road.  The roads were snow pack going up Parley's canyon and past Park City.  Once we got past Echo dam it was snowing but the roads were clear which was nice. We arrived safely bad to our lake house home.  It is so Cold and still snowing today- I just want to stay an cuddled in bed.  I had a rough night didn’t sleep well.  I had a migraine head ache come on.  I felt it starting to come on while driving.  It hurt all night.  Took some aspirin and it is starting to feel better this morning.  I’ve got to start studying and preparing to teach gospel doctrine this coming Sunday.  I’m really enjoying my study time.
We just received a Winter storm alert for our area so it is a good thing we came back last night.  Staying in today.  https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1f-BFaICxzRCyNwuMTUPSZ4J9YA18khgC

Yael’s Baptism / Valentines Day

We had a very special Valentines Day this year.  Stacy and Chad arrived Friday at lunch time- they brought me lunch and then out the door they went to stay at Alta ski resort for two nights -  they came back Sunday morning in time to get ready for Yael’s baptism at 5pm.  A very special day to be on Valentine’s Day and gather as Family for Yael’s baptism.  I worked hard getting ready and hosting a family dinner at our place.  Saturday morning Trisha and Buck brought over table and chairs for us.  We moved our couch and opened up the main level to host our family dinner.  We sat up two round tables and a large 6ft table with 24 chairs.  I have my dinning room table that sits 6 so we were able to seat 30 comfortably.  The 30 grand kids all played down stairs and in our space under the garage in the Scary room is what they called it.  I never took my Halloween decorations down so they had fun playing in there with glow sticks. It kept them entertained.  I put white table clothes and glass jar on the tables with pictures of Jesus in them with the white fairy lights.  It all looked so pretty.  Everyone loved our new place and so surprised how spacious it was to host everyone.  Yael’s baptism day was very special.  Yael asked that I speak about Why we are baptized?  and then Yael was baptized by his father Chad.  Stacy gave a talk about the Holy Ghost-  Afterword's all the priesthood men gathered to confer Yael with the gift of Holy Ghost.  Grandmother Towner gave the closing remarks.  It was a very touching baptism I could feel the Holy Spirit there with us.  I  witnessed another grandson become a member of the true church of God on the earth.  Out of our 20 our Grandchildren we only have 5 of the younger grandkids left.  Our older grandchildren are all getting so big.  It was a joy to see  the family members of the Tower family.  We love Chad’s parents and his siblings.  I’m beat today- cleaning up from the big dinner-  Stacy and Chad left at 9am to drive back to California- they have a 12 hour drive ahead of them.  The kids have to be back in school by tomorrow morning.  It was a very quick trip for them. They crammed a lot in.  They had a great winter family trip- and the Baptism of Yael - it was special to have
Yael’s baptism while they were in town so the family could support them and attend.  https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1ze44WegV4lGy86lOAwQbVkPHsdTzj_wf

Back to Our Draper Home

We were able to stay 5 days at the lake.  This gave Craig time to get two rehab sessions in this week.  He really does like  Cam Garmen as a physical therapist.  He get more personal attention with it a small town and they do a great job.  So I guess we will be staying more at the lake so Craig can do the rehab sessions he needs.  We do need to come back for the weekend for church.  Craig is doing really good for only two and half weeks out since his surgery.  Stacy said they would arrive late tonight.  So we are heading down now - it’s 5:45 and we have an hour to go still.  I had lots to do today to clean up.  I made sugar cookies yesterday- Valentine cookies.   I haven’t made them for many years.  Wanted to make some ahead to see how they turn out for Yael’s baptism dinner on Sunday. We are going to be hosting at our Draper home- all the Towners and our family, those who can come.  There will be about 12 adults and 15 kids from the Towner's and about the same from our side too- so we will have a  house full for dinner.  Trisha is going to come over Saturday to help me set things up.  I’m borrowing several of her tables and chairs and white table clothes.  I want to make a fun Balloon arch too like Tasha did for Winn.  It is going to be a very special day.  Stacy asked that I speak about baptism-  Yael picked me as a speaker.  I told her I would love to.  It is all fresh on my mind- I have been studying section 13 of the D&C this week about Baptism, when John the Baptist returned to the earth the keys of the Aaronic priesthood - restoring the proper priesthood authority to Baptize.  I’m going to have a few busy days getting  ready.  My sugar cookies turn out fun.  I took several around to my ministering sisters.  This Sunday is Valentine’s Day.  We picked up some chocolate cover raspberries for each of our family Valentine gifts this year.   They are so yummy.  We gave them all some last year a new traditional Valentine treat from us as Grandparents.

Back At the Lake

Craig wanted to head back to our home at the lake.  It is his turn to conduct Sacrament meetings the month of February.  I felt it was a little too soon to be out and about.  I can’t keep my hubby down for very long.  He is improving each day.  We baby sat the Thomas grandkids for the day.  I got to their home at 9am.  Natasha, Bridger and Lincoln slept over at Alta ski resort  and went ski for the day.  I enjoyed spending time with the kids were ther till 4pm.  We heading back to our Draper home tidied up and out the door we went to drive to the lake.  We had been gone two weeks for Craig’s  surgery and recovery time.   I had Blake feed our cat.  When we got back she was really hungry mewoing at the door.  I went to get her some food from the storage box where I left a big box od car food.  I turned the light on to see a raccoon on top. I scared it off- as I opened the storage box lid I found a racoon inside the box.  It sacred me  to see one inside.  They are smart and strong to know how to open the stove box lid.  Well all the cat food was gone.  I had to go to the store to buy more.  Guess I’m going to have to find another hiding spot for the cat food when we are gone.  Today was super Bowl Sunday.  Craig enjoyed watching the Game.  I took a long nap- I’ve been so tired today- I have thinking myself to get ready for church today and out the door.  I was glad to be at church once I got there.  I fixed us a yummy dinner afterwards.  I signed up for a home Chef - Stacy gave us some gift cards to use for Christmas- they deliver the food and recipes for me to cook.  We had three meals delivered the week.  They were really good and fast cooking.   We’Ll try it for a while to see how I like it -so far enjoying the variety in our meals.  We are going to stay at the lake for a few days-  Craig has physical therapy on Tuesday here at the lake with President Garmen and then he has a another appointment on Thursday in Sandy so we will have to head back to our Draper home on Wednesday.   The Towners are coming In town on Friday for a winter trip and Yael’s baptism on Sunday.  I talked to Stacy tonight planning the event.  We are going to host a dinner Sunday evening  at our place after the Baptism for everyone.  We live just up the street from the Stake center.  So I have so work ahead of me getting ready for the special family gathering.  I’m going to set up table with white table clothes and glass jars with pictures of Jesus in them in each table.  Like we did for Landon’s baptism.  We plan to have soup and salad for everyone.  I’m excited to have something to host in our new place.  It is large enough to host.  Just a little nervous with all the kids running around inside hopefully they will behave. We are going to have a busy week.  Thank the Lord for all our many blessing and so blessed to have another grandson baptized.

Come Follow Me Lesson/ Power of Prayer by Brother Bednar

I have enjoyed reading the Come follow me lesson material this week.  I starting listening to it while I waited for Craig at his rehab appointment this week and when we went to the gym on Thursday.  I  read a conference talk by Elder Bednar given in 2008.  I remember this Confernce talk impacting me then and a great reminder again the importance and power of Pray In our lives.
Pray Always -Elder David A. Bednar
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
Prayer becomes more meaningful as we counsel with the Lord in all of our doings, as we express heartfelt gratitude, and as we pray for others.
He describes what it means to pray always - as describe in the scriptures.
Highlights from his talk that have pricked my heart again as a reminder I need to pray more-  I’ve gotten lazy and have not communicate daily like I should.
Principle #1. Prayer becomes more meaningful as we counsel with the Lord in all our doings (see Alma 37:37).
Simply stated, prayer is communication to Heavenly Father from His sons and daughters on earth. “As soon as we learn the true relationship in which we stand toward God (namely, God is our Father, and we are his children), then at once prayer becomes natural and instinctive on our part” (Bible Dictionary, “Prayer,” 752). We are commanded to pray always to the Father in the name of the Son (see 3 Nephi 18:19–20). We are promised that if we pray sincerely for that which is right and good and in accordance with God’s will we can be blessed, protected, and directed (see 3 Nephi 18:20; D&C 19:38).
I love this counsel in his talk that I have pondered this week for many days-
The patterns used by God in creating the earth are instructive in helping us understand how to make prayer meaningful. In the third chapter of the book of Moses we learn that all things were created spiritually before they were naturally upon the earth.
“And now, behold, I say unto you, that these are the generations of the heaven and of the earth, when they were created, in the day that I, the Lord God, made the heaven and the earth,
“And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew. For I, the Lord God, created all things, of which I have spoken, spiritually, before they were naturally upon the face of the earth” (Moses 3:4–5).
We learn from these verses that the spiritual creation preceded the temporal creation. In a similar way, meaningful morning prayer is an important element in the spiritual creation of each day—and precedes the temporal creation or the actual execution of the day. Just as the temporal creation was linked to and a continuation of the spiritual creation, so meaningful morning and evening prayers are linked to and are a continuation of each other.  Consider this example. There may be things in our character, in our behavior, or concerning our spiritual growth about which we need to counsel with Heavenly Father in morning prayer. After expressing appropriate thanks for blessings received, we plead for understanding, direction, and help to do the things we cannot do in our own strength alone. For example, as we pray, we might:-  Reflect on those occasions when we have spoken harshly or inappropriately to those we love the most. Recognize that we know better than this, but we do not always act in accordance with what we know. Express remorse for our weaknesses and for not putting off the natural man more earnestly.
Determine to pattern our life after the Savior more completely.
Plead for greater strength to do and to become better. Such a prayer is a key part of the spiritual preparation for our day.... During the course of the day, we keep a prayer in our heart for continued assistance and guidance—even as Alma suggested: “Let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord” (Alma 37:36).
We notice during this particular day that there are occasions where normally we would have a tendency to speak harshly, and we do not; or we might be inclined to anger, but we are not. We discern heavenly help and strength and humbly recognize answers to our prayer. Even in that moment of recognition, we offer a silent prayer of gratitude.
At the end of our day, we kneel again and report back to our Father. We review the events of the day and express heartfelt thanks for the blessings and the help we received. We repent and, with the assistance of the Spirit of the Lord, identify ways we can do and become better tomorrow. Thus our evening prayer builds upon and is a continuation of our morning prayer. And our evening prayer also is a preparation for meaningful morning prayer.
Morning and evening prayers—and all of the prayers in between—are not unrelated, discrete events; rather, they are linked together each day and across days, weeks, months, and even years. This is in part how we fulfill the scriptural admonition to “pray always” (Luke 21:36; 3 Nephi 18:15, 18; D&C 31:12). Such meaningful prayers are instrumental in obtaining the highest blessings God holds in store for His faithful children.... Prayer becomes meaningful as we remember our relationship to Deity and heed the admonition to:
“Cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.
“Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day” (Alma 37:36–37; emphasis added).

I love this quote- I Read in our gospel doctrine class today -Julie B. Beck, former Relief Society General President: “The ability to qualify for, receive, and act on personal revelation is the single most important skill that can be acquired in this life”.   As I strive to increase in my communication with the Lord thru daily prayer - I’m working on developing the skills to receive my own personal revelation.  Pray I can do better in my daily supplication to the Lord...
Qualifying for the Lord’s Spirit begins with a desire for that Spirit and implies a certain degree of worthiness. Keeping the commandments, repenting, and renewing covenants made at baptism lead to the blessing of always having the Lord’s Spirit with us. Making and keeping temple covenants also adds spiritual strength and power to a woman’s life. Many answers to difficult questions are found by reading the scriptures because the scriptures are an aid to revelation. Insight found in scripture accumulates over time, so it is important to spend some time in the scriptures every day. Daily prayer is also essential to having the Lord’s Spirit with us. Those who earnestly seek help through prayer and scripture study often have a paper and pencil nearby to write questions and record impressions and ideas.
I’m grateful for the scriptures in my life- I know many times inspiration does come to me as I study the scriptures.   Pray to do better this week in my come follow me study.

Friday/ Meeting Up With Theresa / Feb 5th

I met up with Theresa this afternoon to help set up a Blog and add an app on her phone so she can learn how to journal on the go.  I have been doing it now since 2013 going on 8 Years now.  I have loved it.  I like that I can type my entries in my phone and down load pictures in my blog entries right from my phone.  I can journal anytime and do not have to be sitting at my computer.  I was able to blog while I was at the doctors office with Craig in the waiting room.  Our lives are always on the move so this way I’m able to keep accounts of our coming and going’s on the move. This will be a great way for her to document their mission.  I like that I can print it all out each year in a Blog book.  I just spent the past two days editing my journal entries for 2020.  It was fun to go back and read over the events of our lives this past year.  I can see where we have been very blessed as a couple and family.   Keeping a journal helps me to see those blessing and remember that God is involved in the details of our lives.   So excited for Theresa and Rick they are going to be an amazing Mission president.  I have been busy this week caring for my hubby.  Each day is an improvement.  It is just going to take time to recover.  I dropped him off at the Sports Mall today while I was with Theresa. I was gone two and half hours he was beat and anxious to get home and elevate his leg.  We were both tired and had to rest. Tasha called tonight to see if I could babysit her kids tomorrow while her and Bridger take Lincoln snowskiing.  Excited to see the kids in the morning.

At The Doctors office

Craig has his follow up appointment this morning from his knee surgery last Monday.  It has been a long week.  He is making progress each day in the recovery process.  For several days he had a lot of swelling- it is coming down now and he is getting more movement.  He has been very good at moving around and doing his daily exercises for his knee.  The main focus is to get his leg as straight as he can in the next few weeks and work on his motion of movement.   It is very painful for him.  He is my Hero I watch him and the commitment to do what he needs to do to recover-  he is dealing with so much pain.  We went to the gym yesterday.  It felt good to get out and do some exercise myself.   I have got to lose weight.  It is not coming off.  I tired to eat better all of January and cut out the sugar.  I’m not moving just staying the same. Hope to do better this month.  We are anxious to see what the doctor has to say today.  I have been busy caring for my hubby this past week has consumed all my time.

February 1st, A New Month

January did seem to pass quickly even though at times I felt confine with the cold winter days.  We have had a mild winter this year.  Not much snow.  We did get some snow this last week which is needed.  We have been at our Draper home a week now since Craig's knee surgery last Monday.  He is making good progress even though it seem slow for him.  He is dealing with alot of pain and swelling, yet each day is getting a little easier.  I have kept busy caring for him.  Yesterday Lincoln was able to come with his Father to administer the sacrament to us.  We then went to Trisha's for dinner.  It felt good to get out for a bit.  Today Craig had his rehab appointment at 8;30 am out the door early.  He wanted to go by himself.  They worked him hard and he was in alot pain.  He barely got home by himself.  He told me I needed to go with him for his Thursday appointment.  It is to hard right now going by himself. We got our check in the mail last week from cashing in one of our investments.  We are now living on our savings.  It is a weird feeling to be saving all these years for retirement years.  Now we are there and having to actually take money out to live.  This is our first investment we closed out.  The stock market was good an all time high so we cashed it out at a good time.  The market fell to a low by the end of the week.  So we were blessed to receive a greater value.  I had to run a few errands and deposited our check today for $26,867.65.  This is our monthly income for the months ahead to live on.  I went to the car wash- our car was really dirty from the winter weather.  Picked up my purse at Trisha's I left last night, put gas in the car, returned a purple sweater I bought at Ross, shopped around a bit, went to Costco to buy a few groceries and home.  I was gone three hours.  I had to take a nap when I got home from my errands.  The day has come to a close.  When it gets dark I'm done for the day.  Thank the Lord for my many blessing.  I was able to read for about 30 minutes in my come follow me study this week.  I'm enjoying studying church history this year.  I'm very grateful for the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth today.  I'm grateful for my dear husband.  He wanted to repeat to me today the temple recommend questions, Serving as a counselor in the Bishopric he interviews members to received their temple recommends.  He has memorized all the temple questions that are asked in their in their interview and he has also memorized the young men's theme and the scripture Moroni 10-  He is so good at memorizing.  He passed with flying colors.  Grateful for his testimony too.  He become very emotional as he was repeating the young men's theme to me. I love my Hubby very much.  He loves serving in the Bishopric and has been a great blessing for him.  So special to share this tender moment with him as the tears flowed.
