Our Saturday

I woke up early this morning 6am.  I reflected on what I learned in a few of the roots tech zoom sessions I listened to last night.  I started reading our Wedding digital scrapbook I made to see if it reflected the memories I really wanted to tell about our engagement and wedding day.  I so enjoyed reading it and felt I did express my feelings and thoughts.  This is one thing they suggested to write how I feel about things.  Craig wanted to head out early today to return to the lake.  He is conducting  our sacrament meeting tomorrow and wanted to get back early to prepare.  He also wanted to stop in Randolph at the High School to watch the youth in our ward playing in their basketball finials.  It was a quick two day trip for us to spend some time at our Draper home and to take Landon out for dinner for his birthday.  I was able to finish tidying things up from our large family dinner gathering on Valentine’s Day.  Craig is very good at supporting the youth in our Garden City ward.  So on the road again our days of back and forth from the Lake to our Draper home.  It is a 160 mile drive one way and takes us about 2 hours and 40 minutes.  We keep the road hot almost weekly driving back and forth to doctors appointments and supporting our grandkids in their events and birthdays.  It keeps us busy traveling

I enjoyed the beautiful winter day.  Before leaving town we shopped by Bull Frog Spas to pick up some fragrance for our hot tub.  We then stopped at Costco to buy a few groceries and ink for our printer. Craig likes to print out the announcements and program for sacrament.  Our printer was out of ink last weekend.  I bought a few things on sale like spaghetti sauce and can chicken to add to our food storage. I’m trying to pick-up extra each time we go to the store to add gradually in building up our food storage for a year.  We like can chicken and tuna.
Driving out of town was nerve racking for me, the weather turn to snowing hard.  It was covered snow packed roads up Parleys canyon and all the way past Coleville- about 50 miles of bad roads. A sigh of relief when the snow lifted and the road cleared out.  I was glad Craig was driving.
We stop in Evanston to get something to eat.  Today we tried out Arby’s.  It was a good fish sandwich combo meal.  Being safe wearing our mask.

It is coming up on a year of wearing mask every where we go.  It is the standard thing to do while out in public.   While eating our food - Craig thanked me for taking such good care of Him.  He got all teary eyed.  I could see the tender emotions of his love and gratitude toward me.  It was a special moment we both shared looking into one another’s eyes.  We traded driving- I took a turn driving with the roads cleared out now.  When we arrived at Randolph,  I dropped Craig off at the high school for the state basketball competition -so I could put some make on before going in and find a restroom at the local small town gas station.   Randolph is a very small town with a population of 508- Establish by Mormon pioneers sent out by Brigham young in the 1868. it is where the Rich county courthouse stands today.  It hasn’t grown much over the years.  It is where all the kids from Garden City drive 30 minutes to attend High school.  It feels really strange to me being in this little country town.   I love the old church that stands in the center of town.  https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1caOwGsgl52G0GXZew0Vl4Blr21TFOMoI
I actually enjoyed the basket game.  We are slowly making friends and things are feeling a little more comfortable as we get to know people in the community.  Craig is much more outgoing than me.  He makes friends every easily.  It was fun to observe the cowboy hats and country living clothing of the men in the gym.   This is the largest public gathering for us since last year.  It felt good to be with people again.  I so enjoyed the music playing and noise of the crowd.  I was amazed at how well the band was playing for the event.  At first I thought the music was just through the sound system of recorded music playing when I looked over and saw a band playing.  Wow! I was so surprised !  They are really good.!! Most people were wearing mask.  I felt bad for the cheerleaders wearing them the entire time.  This is a small school only an 1A division in sports competition.  They aren’t very good and the cheerleaders lacked in being sharp, they only have such a small group of students Yet a blessing for them all to be able to participate- an opportunity they would not have within a larger school.  https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Otucs7SLT_m5OnwyDbdL8WrjuK_V99KW

Our school Rich Rebels won big 66 to 47.
It feels good to be back to our lake home.  We empty the car and put things away.   We enjoyed relaxing and watching TV for the evening.  We watched an older movie Dancing with wolves.  Our day has come to a close I’m tired and ready for bed.  There is a lovely full moon shining on the lake tonight.  I got ready for bed while Craig watches his BYU Courage’s basketball game.  I can hardly keep my eyes open as I try finish my Blog entry tonight.  I’m fading - Good night!
