Very Busy Sunday

I had a very busy Sabbath Day.  I got up at 7:30 am to get dressed for the day.  I had to wash my hair and face to be ready in time for a young women’s presidency meeting at 9am from there I raced home to tidy up the cabin and start dinner for after church,  I only had a half an hour and I had to hurry to the church for my 11:00 am Bishop council meeting.  Our sacrament started at 12:30 pm.  We had a large sacrament with lots of family and friends for the missionary home coming of the Wallentine’s son.  He did a great job on his talk, he is very handsome.  It was so fun to see Shelly & Megan Wallentine, my new friends from the Sound of Music play I preformed in.  Our gospel doctrine class was really good to today.  We talked about how the early settlers colonized over 500 settlements called by the prophet Brigham Young.  We talked about how it took 4O years for the saint to build the Salt Lake temple, what great sacrifices they made in giving their all to build the temples and to develop new homes in their new settlements.   We also talked about how the missionary effort continued in these challenging times as missionaries were sent through out the world leaving their family to share the gospel.   Craig was asked to tell about great-great grandfather Thomas Kroff Biesinger that was called to the Austria mission and was in jail for 2 months for Sharing the gospel  was not allowed in the area.  He converted and planted seeds of the gospel while in prison, the work of the Lord continued at great sacrifices.   Thomas Kroff served 4 missions and at 80 years old returned to the same area he was place in prison to finish up some of the work he had 40 years earlier.  It is a great story.  Parts of the story was written in the Our Heritage Manuel printed by the church for teaching this lesson.  Craig has a great heritage of missionary work.  He told how when he was baptized he was blessed he would serve a mission,  his heart was pierced then with this great desire to serve,  Craig was named after his great great father with his middle name Thomas Kroff, Craig carries on the name Craig Thomas, in our family our two grandsons are Cole Thomas, and Alec Craig to carry on our family names,  Craig felt the strong impression of what is he doing with the Biesinger name?  Craig does have a strong love for missionary work and feels his great-geat grandfather has been supporting him beyond the veil.  From there we had a great young women’s lesson.  The new Bishop visited young women’s. I was so happy to see girls there that have not been coming , my two Spanish girls, where there.   We called NeNe who so shy to be our Miamaid president, after class we had a BYC youth council meeting, from there I had one hour to hurry home and cook dinner for the sister missionaries, at 5:30 pm, I also invited Brother and sister Menlove at the last minute to join us. We had just enough time to eat dinner visit and then hurry off to the Bishop youth meeting at 7pm.  It was another great meeting of nourishing the youth with the gospel message.  Home sweet home by 9pm,  I had to do dishes and finally I was able to change my clothes and rest from my busy Sabbath day,  a truly blessed day, I love serving in the Lords Church.

Stake Dance

Add caption
Saturday day was a busy day with our youth, after our brunch I had three girls that ran errands with me for our activity on Tuesday night.  We had fun shopping at the Halloween spirit store for Halloween decorations for the big Halloween celebration at the KOA on the 31st.  The young women are decorating a cabin this year.   By the time we took the girls home only had a couple hours to rest and then it was time to dress up for the Stake Halloween dance.  Craig and I had fun dressing up in our 70’s outfits,  I wore my white Gogo boots and Craig look so funny in his black wig & jacket from his dad with white pants.  We followed Iesha & Jesalyn there.  We had a great turn out from our ward.   Craig and I had fun dancing with the youth.  We have fond memories of when we went to stake dances in our youth in Florida, I was 14 & Craig was 16.  I loved dancing with my hubby.  Craig drove the vet, he gave Jesslyn a ride home.  We made sure the girls got home safely.  We had a fun filled day with youth.

Baptism For The Dead

Logan Temple Outing Garden City Youth
We had a great turn out with the youth Saturday morning.  We had 12 youth attend, 7 boys and 5 girls with our young men and young women leaders.  We all meet at the church 6:45 am and drove to the Logan temple.  Many of the youth submitted their only family names.  So proud of Ally Wallentine she submitted 35 of her own family names.  She prepared and printed them herself.  The youth are awesome in our new ward.  What a blessing to attend the temple with them.  We completed 160 names all together as a group.  Afterwards we all went to Angie’s for breakfast.  It was awesome.

Escape House

Garden City 1st Ward Young Women's
We had a fun activity last night at young women’s, I had 12 girls last night a record for attendance we were only missing two Laurel’s last night that was awesome.   We went to the Escape House that is new in Garden City.   We had to find clues in each room and work as a team in order to unlock the locks to move from room to room. It was a Halloween theme, it took lots of teamwork.  The girls did great.  I would have never figured it all out by myself, I would have been stuck for a long time.  It was a race to see how fast we figured out the clues.  It took us all about 40 minutes.   I made pumpkin brownies for all the girls to eat afterwards.   We had a great activity!

Our Final Show Tonight

Cast picture our finial show tonight.  The girls and I spent the afternoon watching the movie Sound of Music on TV.  Fun to actually watch the movie.  This year is the 50th year anniversary.  The movie came out in 1967 when I was 10 years old and one of my favorites growing up.  One of the first colored motion pictures for me to see as a young girl which was very impressionable, never to forget, Love all the songs from the musical, it had been fun to be in the play and sing all my favorites songs as a young girl growing up.  I sang “these are a few of my favorites things” as a a lullaby to my babies.  The girls headed home this afternoon fun to have them sleep over for a night.  Now I have to get ready for my final show!!

Friday Night Play Perforances

Shar, Lincoln, Mom, Stacy
Stacy flew in from California to see me perform. I told her she didn’t need to come, but she surprised us. Her and Tasha drive up with Tasha’s kids and Shar drive up too.  Fun to have family support me in the endeavor.  Only one more show tonight.  It will be our last performance,  6 shows is a lot, I’m ready for it to all be over.   This has been a huge time commitment. The play last 3 hours it has been a 6 hour time commitment each night we perform, plus all the practice time leading leading up to performing, it has been over 75 hour commitment.  Ready to move on!!!  Fun to have my girls here.

Trip To Lake Powell

Craig, Heidi, Chris Woodward
Craig & I in this amazing Cave at lake Powell
Craig & I left early Tuesday morning for a three day trip to Lake Powell with the Woodward’s.  They invited us as couples to catch the last of warm weather this year.   They just bought in a new time share.  We left at 6:30 am for our 7 hour drive down south. The first night was really cool, it warmed up on Wednesday,  We took a lovely hike, and enjoyed our boat ride, taking in the unusual scenery. We had fun playing Farkle in the evenings, it’s a fun dice game.  We had fun catching up with our friends the Woodward’s, Heidi & Chris.  Chris was made the Bishop of our old mountain oaks ward, we moved from in 2004.  He will do a great job,  Craig and him had lots to talk about with Craig just being called to serve in the Bishopric of our Ward at Bear lake.  Thursday was a very warm day close to 80 degrees, we won’t see that for another year.  I had no cellphone service while there, it felt nice to have a break from the play.  And spend time with friends. We had to leave early Friday morning another seven hour drive in order for me to make it back home to preform again in the evening.  It is a long drive. We arrived home safely. On our way home we stopped to visited the Chaudhry family.

Spoke In Sacrament

I got home close to midnight Saturday night when I walked in the door Craig says I have some bad news, I was thinking something bad had happened in the family and then he said we have been asked to speak in sacrament tomorrow,  In away it was a sigh of relief,  I was too tired to even think about it, I decided on which talk to highlight, they asked us to pick one of our favorite conference talks and share highlights of that talk. I pick Sister Neill Marriott the 2nd counselor in young women’s conference   She is one of my favorite speakers she’s from Texas and I love her southern accent, her personality, she always gives such good talks,, I went to bed I was so dead tired.  Craig had to take me to the InstaCare early Friday morning because I had another kidney infection set in and so I haven’t been feeling very well, my energy level is low.   Come Sunday morning it was a rush for me to get ready and get my talk ready in time, I had to attend BYC meeting at 11am Craig had to be there by 10 for his first bishopric meeting, we did not have much time to work on our talks, at least I didn’t, I was scrambling after my meeting at 11am to review my talk before we started sacrament at 12:30.   I didn’t feel as prepared as I would’ve liked but I read her talk over a couple times and highlighted a few things and then had thoughts come to my mind through the Holy Spirit to know what I should say.  Our sacrament end up being a very good sacrament, I spoke first, Craig spoke about the book of Mormon, my talk was about building bridges in our family relationships showing love and being able to forgive one another, building love and unity in our families.  Craig highlighted the Book of Mormon and that we should read the book of Mormon take the book of Mormon challenge to read the book of Mormon every day, sister Menlove gave a great talk and brother Menlove too, they both did awesome job so it was a very nice sacrament meeting for all of us and a time for the ward members to get to know the new bishopric counselors and their wives, after sacrament we had to rush off to drive to Kaysville, our grandson Cole Thomas is 16 now and is being ordained a priest we are so proud of him. We did not want to miss this important event in his life.

Our Autumn Ride

Debbie, Craig, Sonia,Steve Nelson
We invited Steve and Sonia Neilsen to come spend the weekend with us, they arrive Friday afternoon Just in time for us to grab a bite of dinner at Cooper’s and then they went to the play to see me perform in the sound of music, we had fun visiting afterwards, we were up till about one in the morning, Saturday morning we had a nice breakfast and then dressed in warm clothes and went for about a five hour ride in the rhino up in the mountains to see the autumn leaves,  on top and there’s already snow, it was cool up there but we enjoyed our ride.  it was lots of fun spending time with the Nelson‘s for the weekend,  Steve was our bishop when we first moved to Draper 13 years ago 2004, Craig was their home teacher for many years and we have grown to love them so much as a family, Craig was a great home teacher,  Camilla asked that Craig stay as their home teacher she is their youngest daughter.  She loved Craig.  Camilla just got married this summer so the Nelsons are officially empty-nester's now.  We have supposedly been empty-nester's since 2009 when our Natasha got married our last little girl but we have had the kids in and out living with us over the years that it has not felt empty, But now we are truly empty-nester's.

The Sound Of Music

I have perform three shows now, it was a busy weekend Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, I didn’t get home till about midnight each night, we’re getting better, our third show was the best so far, I have another show tonight October 9th and then I’ll have a break till next weekend, we perform again on Friday and Saturday, it’s been a huge time commitment but I have enjoyed making new friends. Steve and Sonia Nielsen came and spent the weekend with us and they came to the play on Friday night all my young women came on Friday night too and they had a great time we had about 14 people from our ward attend.

The Deadlist Shooting in American History

I Woke up to such tragic and heart breaking news. I'm sure everyone in America has the same feelings. I pray for peace and comfort for the families of those that were lost. I pray for the people who were there and wounded either by bullets or the trauma of what they witnessed. We are Americans who need to forget the petty differences that seem to plague us as a country. Remember to be kind to one another. Remember that we are all God's children. He does not separate us into groups, we do that to ourselves. Sending love and prayers to all who mourn and love for my country and all the people in it. United we can push back the dark and bring love, courage and pride back to this blessed country. ❤️  58 have been killed and 500 in the hospital , such at tragedy !! A tragic shooting in Las Vegas, Nv.

Sharing The Light

"Each of us came to earth having been given the Light of Christ. As we follow the example of the Savior and live as He lived and as He taught, that light will burn within us and will light the way for others." —Thomas S Monson

How are you sharing your light with others this week? #TempleSquare

An Apostle Died Today

An Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ passed away today, Robert D. Hales, He has been one of my favorites!! He will be greatly missed, I had the blessing of personally meeting him and shaking his hand, when I spoke at our Stake conference, Brother Hale followed my talk, I was so nervous, being in the presence of an apostle, he calmed my spirit as he spoke and paid me a great tribute for the words I spoke. His words deeply pierced my heart ❤️ and the Holy Spirit confirmed to me he is truly an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, such a great blessing in my life to meet this great servant of the Lord !! "Every one of us is more beloved than we can possibly understand or imagine. Let us therefore be kinder to one another." - Robert D Hales
Thank you Brother Hale for your ❤️ and service
