Science Report

The natural immune protection that develops after a SARS-CoV-2 infection offers considerably more of a shield against the Delta variant of the pandemic coronavirus than two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, according to a large Israeli study that some scientists wish came with a “Don’t try this at home” label. The newly released data show people who once had a SARS-CoV-2 infection were much less likely than never-infected, vaccinated people to get Delta, develop symptoms from it, or become hospitalized with serious COVID-19.-The study demonstrates the power of the human immune system, but infectious disease experts emphasized that this vaccine and others for COVID-19 nonetheless remain highly protective against severe disease and death. And they caution that intentional infection among unvaccinated people would be extremely risky. “What we don’t want people to say is: ‘All right, I should go out and get infected, I should have an infection party,’” says Michel Nussenzweig, an immunologist at Rockefeller University who researches the immune response to SARS-CoV-2 and was not involved in the study. “Because somebody could die.”

The study, conducted in one of the most highly COVID-19–vaccinated countries in the world, examined medical records of tens of thousands of Israelis, charting their infections, symptoms, and hospitalizations between 1 June and 14 August, when the Delta variant predominated in Israel. It’s the largest real-world observational study so far to compare natural and vaccine-induced immunity to SARS-CoV-2, according to its leaders.

The research impresses Nussenzweig and other scientists who have reviewed a preprint of the results, posted yesterday on medRxiv. “It’s a textbook example of how natural immunity is really better than vaccination,” says Charlotte ThΓ₯lin, a physician and immunology researcher at Danderyd Hospital and the Karolinska Institute who studies the immune responses to SARS-CoV-2. “To my knowledge, it’s the first time [this] has really been shown in the context of COVID-19.”

Building Zion

I really liked this talk printed in the Chruch magazine for Sept 2021 -
Bring Forth Zion By Elder Gerrit W. Gong
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
Here are some highlights that are very powerful -  Throughout history, the Lord’s people have sought to bring forth a gospel society where He can dwell. To become such a community of Saints, we must learn to sanctify and unify our hearts and minds, deal justly without contention and disputation, and dwell in righteousness with no poor among us (see Moses 7:18). -  so what is Zion? -
Few topics outside the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ have inspired ancient and modern prophets and Saints more than the latter-day gathering of the house of Israel and the building of Zion in preparation for the Savior’s Second Coming… Elder Bruce R. McConkie (1915–85) of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles declared, “From the day of Adam to the present moment—whenever the Lord has had a people of his own; whenever there have been those who have hearkened to his voice and kept his commandments; whenever his saints have served him with full purpose of heart—there has been Zion.”
Zion is the pure in heart -
In Enoc’s  time I learned that he -thru righteousness built a righteous city that was translated and to return during the millennium.  Quote from his talk -  Enoch’s day was a time of war, bloodshed, fear, darkness, and hate—when “the power of Satan was upon all the face of the earth” (Moses 7:24; see also verses 16, 17, 33). But Enoch was faithful, and the Lord called him to cry repentance.
The Lord told Enoch that similar “great tribulations” (Moses 7:61) will precede His Second Coming. “As I live, even so will I come in the last days, in the days of wickedness and vengeance, to fulfil the oath which I have made unto you concerning the children of Noah” (Moses 7:60).
I had never made this comparison - it is so true we are living in a very evil time in the history of the world but Zion - Christ church is on the earth and is growing in power.  It was restored 190 years ago. And has grown in strength thru out the world though we are small in numbers compared to the world population.   This Quote -I really love this !! -  Of our day, President Russell M. Nelson recently observed, “I view  the current [COVID-19] pandemic as only one of many ills that plague our world, including hate, civil unrest, racism, violence, dishonesty, and lack of civility.” Yet, we have prophetic assurance. President Nelson has also said:
“We live in the day that ‘our forefathers have awaited with anxious expectation.’ [Doctrine and Covenants 121:27.] We have front-row seats to witness live what the prophet Nephi saw only in vision, that ‘the power of the Lamb of God’ would descend ‘upon the covenant people of the Lord, who were scattered upon all the face of the earth; and they were armed with righteousness and with the power of God in great glory.’ [1 Nephi 14:14.]
“You, my brothers and sisters, are among those men, women, and children whom Nephi saw.”
The invitation to gather and bless those on both sides of the veil, build Zion, and prepare the world for our Savior’s Second Coming includes each of us. “Of all the people who have ever lived on planet earth,” said President Nelson, “we are the ones who get to participate in this final, great gathering event.”..
As we seek first the Lord and His righteousness, we pray “that his kingdom may go forth upon the earth, that the inhabitants thereof may receive it, and be prepared for the days to come, in the which the Son of Man shall come down in heaven, clothed in the brightness of his glory, to meet the kingdom of God which is set up on the earth” (Doctrine and Covenants 65:5).
Consecrated by covenant belonging with God and each other, we build Zion and prepare for the Second Coming. “Charity is the pure love of Christ,” said President Henry B. Eyring, Second Counselor in the First Presidency. “And it is faith in Him and the full effects of His infinite Atonement that will qualify you, and those you love and serve, for the supernal gift to live in that sociality of a long-looked-for and promised Zion.”

Monday / Not Feeling Well

I’m still struggling ! So frustrating.  I was flat in bed all day Saturday feeling nauseous and bad stomach ache bodyaches headache and just not feeling good overall I stayed in bed and didn’t go anywhere on Saturday I felt so bad. Sunday I made myself get up and go to Natasha’s for the day. I was feeling a little better some stomach relief. Still feeling nauseous. I took Annie and little Cora for a walk it’s all good to be outside I ran some errands for Natasha and Anni and I drove out to Shannon’s to see their new little baby ducks and chickens. They have two bunnies for chickens and three ducks.  Annie had fun petting them.  Ashtyn loves her new friends- So cute.  I fixed the Thomas family a nice dinner. I was beat by the end of the day and didn’t get home till about 8 PM.  My back was killing me, I was on my feet all afternoon. Natasha is doing better each day you can see improvement. I slept better last night I woke up early this morning and read my scriptures. I’m hoping to be able to teach our gospel lesson this coming Sunday. We are learning about Sec.’s 94 through 97 The doctrine and covenants. I went over to Natasha’s this morning and took little Cora for another stroller ride and walk for me. I came home for lunch and took a nap and back reading in preparation for my lesson. Just read some really good talks in the church magazine for the month of September coming up.
I really liked several of the talks

Helping Natasha

Natasha had surgery on Tuesday.  She called me Wednesday morning and said she needs her Mother.   Craig and I had planned coming down on Wednesday.  We were going to the Logan Temple to preform baptism ordinance for some of our ancestors.  It felt good to be in the temple.  It has been a year since we have been able to attend the temple.  We have to make a appointment online and it is hard to get a time slot.  Craig made this time slot two months earlier, back in June.  We drove down and went straight to Natasha’s home.  She looks terrible.  She had another nose surgery and Li-po on her stomach, hips and legs.  She is beat up and black and blue.  It is a rough surgery to recover from.  She has a drain tube for blood and fluid draining from the procedure.  I took her to her follow up appointment Wednesday afternoon.  I helped her all yesterday and today.  I have enjoyed spending time with little baby Cora. She just got her cast off Tuesday.  Craig went back to the lake this afternoon with Michael and Landon.  Alec and two of his friends are coming back up this weekend.   Craig is going to have to mange them with out me.  Craig just called to let me know he is having another episode.  This is the third one in the past week.  His heart rate starts racing and his blood pressure goes up in the high levels.  He is taking his blood pressure medicine daily and still he has it elevate.  It is so frustrating for him.  We just don’t know what to do.  I’m staying at our draper home so I can help Tasha recover from this surgery.  She has improved but still is very fragile.  She can’t left Cora.  It is hard on my back too- to not lift her anymore than I can help it.

Monday / A Sunny Day

Today has been beautiful day.  The weather cooler with clear sky’s.  The smoke from all the fires cleared out.  Alec and his friends had a nice weekend.  It was on the cool side with lots of rain but has fun just getting way.  He has some very nice friends.  I washed the bedding from the two downstairs beds and made them up.  That is a chore for me right now.  Two of the couples that are married slept up stairs and they were so helpful to change their sheets and make the bed.  So nice to not have to clean up after them.  I gathering up the garbage this morning it felt good to be outside and smell the morning air. Tommy called several time as we talked to the doctors at the hospital.  Mom fell last Friday morning. They had to take her to the hospital in an ambulance.  She has broken her left hip which is her bad knee side.  It has only been three weeks since she had the watchman heart surgery.  She is suppose to not be doing anything for 45 days recover from this. It was a lot harder for her in the recovery then we expected.  She has been struggling with an urinary infection. She is just wanting to feel well.  And now this.  A fracture hip is a long and painful recovery.  It takes about three months to recover from.  I was on the phone several hours with Tommy trying to figure out what to do ? If we should have a hip surgery where they place a metal bar in hip area To give the bone support so she can put pressure on it to move around.  Just don’t know if she is well enough to have surgery.  We are going to wait a few days and see how she does in managing her pain without surgery.  She may still need the surgery.  Feel so bad for her.  Anita Towners mother died shortly after she broke her hip.  It just takes a lot out of them.   I played pickleball tonight for an hour it felt so good to be out playing again.  It is a beautiful full moon tonight and clear sky’s.  Enjoying being outside tonight.

County Fair Parade

Craig drove his vet in the county fair as the grand Marshel this year.  We didn’t know if the weather was going to hold up .  We have had thuderstroms all day long.  It stayed clear just in time for the parade.   Laura sent us the sweetest note -  her husband Matt had the honor of being the Grand Marshal in the parade for our County Fair yesterday. He got to share this honor with our friend’s daughter, Madi, who spent 6 weeks in the hospital a few months ago after a tragic accident. These two have shared similar struggles, like paralysis on their left side, which left them with a lot of physical challenges and twin smiles. Madi has come a lot further in her progress than Matt, but these two are both so incredible with how much they have changed through the trials they’ve gone through and despite their physical limitations, are even better people than they were before. They both have a very deep sense of caring for others, in a way that only those that have experienced the types of things they’ve gone through can have. It was so much fun to watch them share this honor and the spotlight for this event.

And a huge thanks to our friend, Craig, who drove them in his Corvette for it. Matt loves sports cars so this was a fun treat for him even though it was a little tricky to get him in and out of it. The interesting thing about this Corvette is that I first laid eyes on it the day after Matt’s stroke. Craig and his wife, Debbie, own a home in Draper that they let us stay at for the first couple weeks while Matt was in the hospital. It was such an answer to our prayers. The home was incredibly beautiful and a relaxing retreat while going through such an overwhelming time. I remember when we discovered the Corvette in the garage. Never in a million years would I have imagined in that moment that Matt would be riding in it 9 months later as the Grand Marshal in our County Fair parade. Thank you, Craig, for your generosity. It was the cherry on top of this whole experience for Matt. Even if he prefers foreign over American made.😝

Friday

We drove down Wednesday to our Draper home for a 24 hour stay.  When we arrived in the Salt Lake Valley couldn't believe how smoky it was and raining at the same.  It has poured rain for two days.  The clouds were hovering down low right on us.  The news reported Utah has the worst air quality in the world right now. Thursday Craig got up early to have the oil changed in our Car and went to the gym to get a workout.  I stayed in bed to rest.  Stacy called me to check on me and we had a long conversation about all the things that are a challenge.  Her kids started back to school this week.  She is having to home school them.  California has the face mandate for school attendance and is teaching the new critical race theory program starting in kindergarten.  Plus she had to show all her children are vaccinated.  She has chose not to vaccinate her children.  She has done a lot of research and I'm starting to fall in line with her thinking.  I never gave it any thought raising our children. I put my trust in the medical field and thought this was the right thing as a new mother and wanted to what the medical profession advised.  I never even question it?  But this vaccination is a new and something never given to humans.  So we are very skeptical.   Alec and his friends are arriving this morning.  We drove back last night so we can be here.  Look forward to spending time with him.
Like this quote from our Bishop who posted on our ward Facebook page -
"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It will all work out. If you do your best, it will all work out. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us”

Many Concern Saints

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1DWHmMbN9DbqhSqcdj63dLcVfB_n1VoD5
My friend Tally from Bear lake sent me this statement made by a member on Facebook.  Monday the administration department of the church was bombarded with lots of phone calls on their public relations site where members can call in and ask questions?  Many are concerned about the last statement put out by the church in regards to the vaccine.  It is a hot topic right now for many.  I like how this person expresses the statement as a parable.   Parables told by the Savior for those in tune with the spirit and will disguise the main topic for those not in tune.  It is a way to disguise the truth for those not willing or prepared to hear the true message.

Word of Wisdom

Section 89 is our come follow me study this week - so appropriate for what is happening in our world today.  Simply living a code of  health given in this revelation we can live a healthier life.  I’ve been striving to live and honor in my life time and have not needed a vaccination to be healthy.  This world wide campaign to vaccinate the entire world is utterly ridiculous.  And now forcing people by making a mandate -to have to have the vaccine to even go everywhere is even more insane.  The forces of evil are conbined- to deceive many and to take our personal freedoms away over the cause of an illness..  It is utterly unbelievable to be watching this taking place.

UnMask Our Children

This national debate to mask our children is so inane.  My half sister in law in Florida just posted this today on her face book page- supporting the face mask for all our children..  saying it is unsafe for our children to not all be masked.  It is out of control what the public is putting out there and living in fear that our children should all be faced masked to control this illness.
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1yX15NYeFej_SSFAq9LCFtD31Q0DlWDLl
I replied back to her post-
This is totally nonsense to think you can mask children when the illness is not hurting them-  we need to see their smiles and joy of life- why instill fear when it is totally unnecessary -Covid -19 is a Survivable illness- I’ve had the virus and I’m still living. Wearing a mask is the last thing you need.  It makes it hard to breathe and get the needed air supply -that’s what keeps us healthy and strong especially after having Covid-19 -wearing a mask is the worst thing I could be doing- limits your air supply-  I have 20 grandkids and I’m totally opposed to making them wear a mask- I love them all dearly and I want what’s best for them. πŸ’•♥️  Well I was opposed- my oppinion, in an angery comeback by Jacque friends on facebook.

It’s Raining Today

The temperature has dropped 30° since yesterday. I love these cooler days with rain- definitely feels like a fall day today. Craig is left with the aftermath of cleaning up from the youth activity last night. Our dock has broke loose and our lily pad and board have broken loose so Craig’s out in the rain gathering things up -he had to bring the kayaks and the tube in as well. We both are struggling with energy after a few hours my back starts hurting and I have to lay down and rest.  I started feeling body aches last night so weird how it just comes and goes.  But I can tell each day I’m improving

Be Not Afraid of Death

President Russell M. Nelson said:

"We need not look upon death as an enemy. With full understanding and preparation, faith supplants fear. Hope displaces despair. The Lord said, "Fear not even unto death; for in this world your joy is not full, but in me your joy is full." (D&C 101:36.) He bestowed this gift: "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let your heart not be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:27.)

As a special witness of Jesus Christ, I testify that the veil of death is very thin. I know by experiences too sacred to relate that those who have gone before are not strangers to leaders of this Church. To us and to you, our loved ones may be just as close as the next room - separated only by the doors of death.

With that assurance, brothers and sisters, love life! Cherish each moment as a blessing from God. (See Mosiah 2:21.) Live it well - even to your loftiest potential. Then the anticipation of death will not hold you hostage. With the help of the Lord, your deeds and desires will qualify you to receive everlasting joy, glory, immortality, and eternal lives. For this I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

This is comforting to me.  The important thing is we are all going to die at some point.  I need to strive to be righteous and prepared to meet my Lord when the time comes.

Starting to feel Renewed Strength

August 16th Monday - Today has been a good day-  I woke up early took all my vitamin supplements and gathered up the garbage-with it being garbage day pick up.  Craig went and play Pickleball.  I went outside to water my plants.  It felt so good to be outside.  The air is very smoky can’t see the mountains across the lake.  It is cooler and feels good to be outside.  I checked the Raspberry patch. It was loaded with raspberries two weeks ago.  I was so surprised to see how many raspberries we had this year. My hard work of clearing out the raspberry patch from weeds and pruning the last two years was paying off. I just didn’t feel well enough to pick any of them. Well this morning I only got a handful of raspberries. I was sad to say they hadn’t been picked and are drying out so we didn’t reap much of a raspberry harvest this year. I was able to work a little around my flower garden and dead head my flowerpots- that took me about an hour. I helped Craig clean off our porch and wash a few windows downstairs. When Craig got back from Pickleball he mowed the lawn- we enjoyed spending our time together outside. I made us an egg sandwich for lunch with a fresh tomato from my little box garden. I  tinkered outside till about 230pm. I had to quit my back was starting to hurt me really bad and I needed to lay down and rest.  I took a two-hour nap. I then took a hot bath, washed my hair and clean up for our fun friend game night.  The Batts are hosting.  I wasn’t able to host this month.  I so enjoyed visiting. Tammy has a really bad UTI and kidney infection she was not feeling well either so we both sat in a chair and watched the rest of the group play badminton for our game. It’s very pleasant to sit outside. Norm Batt likes to work in his yard, they have a little mini yard it was so cute. I had lots of fun looking at their flowerbeds surrounding their little yard.  He is very handy. I walked around admiring the different plants and shrubs that he has planted. We sat around the campfire and made s’more’s, it was a fun evening out for me. I have felt renewed strength -this has been the most active day I’ve had in over six weeks.

Tuesday August 17th - today is our Austin Noriega’s 16th birthday.  He is going to be driving.  Shar invited us to a family birthday dinner. We can’t go tonight because Craig has a combined young men and young women’s boating activity tonight. Shar said to come to dinner on Thursday night this week.  we woke up at 7 AM this morning that’s a first. I even found myself wanting to dig in the dirt on the highway side moving rocks and then slowly leveling that out. The weather is cool but very smoky can’t see the sunrise this morning -it peeps through occasionally as bright orange and then fades away.  The smoke is so thick it is blocking the sun from our view.
We are hosting the boating activity for the ward youth tonight. So we will be getting ready for that. Feels good to be sitting out on my swing and enjoying the morning. Taking the time to read our come follow me lesson for this week.  We are studying section 89 the word of wisdom.
This scripture is a temple blessing repeated at the veil.  I find myself repeating to myself often as a blessing of being obedient to God's Laws.  May the Lord bless with physical and spiritual strength as I strive to obey the Word of Wisdom.  I look forward to spending more time studying this section this week.

Our Sabbath Day/Letter From the First Presidency of the Church

August 13th- Friday -Craig and I rested. I didn’t go anywhere but stay at our Draper home.  Craig ran a couple errands - I just needed to have chill time and let my anxiety subside. I was feeling better and the pain in my chest is lifting. I needed the comfort of my husband. I’m so blessed to have him, he is very thoughtful, he drove all the way down to be with me. We were able to get a good nights rest.  August 14th  Saturday morning we made our trek back to the lake. I’m just so tired still- I had to take a long nap when arrived.  I didn’t do much of anything when we got back other than water my plants. I’m so limited what I can do right now.  Our summer season is coming to a close - sad in someways,  I didn’t get to enjoy it like I wanted to this year. I do enjoy the cooler days and nights as fall approaches.  It feels like a touch of fall in the air and I can even see autumn leaves starting to turn along the Mountainside.
August 15th - Craig dress for church today attending bishopric meeting at 10:30am and he is conducting sacrament today at 11:30 am- I really wanted to attend sacrament today but I’m just not feeling well enough to get there yet. So I’m going to watch it on our zoom virtual sacrament so I can be there in spirit.  I’ve been texting a cousin- Mary diggers on messenger this morning. She told me the history of our great grandfather Joseph Hicks, how he came to Nicholas county as an orphan. I made a brief history post on my family search account so that other ancestors may know. I am grateful for modern technology. It has made it possible to connect with cousins from all over the country and we are able to piece our information together to make a more complete history of our common ancestors. It is such a blessing to see my Family History blossom and grow before my eyes as I am able to locate sources and communicate with cousins on other family lines. Working together helps us to fill in missing pieces. This has been a life work for me.  I started as a young teenager of 13 years old gathering Family History information learning who my ancestors are- At the time I only knew my grandparents on the Bailes side and very little about my great grandparents, nothing had been recorded so I had to personally talk to my ancestors and hand write the information. It is so fun to see how it has grown over the years, I have been able to gather thousands of names and link into our family tree. I’m enjoying sitting out on our deck chilling- the mild sunshine feels so good - I’m watching people play on the water, boating, feeling a cool breeze and watching hummingbirds feeding on my flower pots. There is so much smoke in the air today that I cannot see the mountains on the other side of the lake- it is a very smoky filled day. There are raging wildfires in the northern part of the United States California, Oregon, Washington and Idaho. So Utah is getting the smoke from all the fires. Utah has sevaral fires as well.  They just closed I -80 freeway last night due to a large wildfire in the Parley Canyon area and asking people to evacuate from their homes. We are living in trouble times- it was prophesied we would have fires and pestilence, earthquakes, tornadoes and hurricanes and they are increasing in intensity.  As we are seeing the ravages of war across Europe where immigrants are flocking to America. The South America countries are struggling with drought and unstable governments causing hunger and instability in their countries. Crime and murder is everywhere throughout the world there is no peace found in the world. Which are all signs of the last days just pray that my heart can be lifted and not feel heavy from all the pain and suffering  I hear of throughout the world. I do have to remind myself that we are so very blessed, we live in a beautiful and safe area for the most part- people are obeying the laws and we have peace in our community. At Bear lake everyone is very helpful and strives to look after one another.  It's time for sacrament.  The sound is really bad. The microphone is picking up all the children and the music vibrates so badly I have to turn it down.  I would much rather be in the meeting than watching it.  Craig conducted, he did a great job.  The Bishop stood up and read the statement from the 1st presidency about the vaccination.  He started out talking about the Old Ship Zion and asking us to think about that. He referred to a conference talk given by our apostle Elder Ballard in 2015 title God is at the Helm.  I had to look it up.  We will be safely lead by our leaders in these troubled times.  He then read the letter as follow:
  Dear Brothers and Sisters:

We find ourselves fighting a war against the ravages of COVID-19 and its variants, an unrelenting pandemic. We want to do all we can to limit the spread of these viruses. We know that protection from the diseases they cause can only be achieved by immunizing a very high percentage of the population.

To limit exposure to these viruses, we urge the use of face masks in public meetings whenever social distancing is not possible. To provide personal protection from such severe infections, we urge individuals to be vaccinated. Available vaccines have proven to be both safe and effective. We can win this war if everyone will follow the wise and thoughtful recommendations of medical experts and government leaders. Please know of our sincere love and great concern for all of God's children.

The First Presidency

Russell M. Nelson

Dallin H. Oaks

Henry B. Eyring

I knew this letter was going to be read over the pulpit encouraging members to receive the vaccination and we are back to social distancing and wearing Face mask in public.

It is very disturbing to me when renown doctors and scientist are speaking out about this vaccination that it is not safe-  I have been doing my research in learning what is available.  We have so much corruption in our government and now the CDC is proving to not be honest in they’re reporting system there are side effects for many people and we still don’t know the long-term effects. I’m just very concerned.  With  our Prophet having this statement read in every ward in the church 16 million members-  this is a heavy responsibility to carry and it is on his shoulders.  We have been promised we will not be lead astray by our prophet.  I don’t understand when there is evidence that shows it is not safe.  I guess this is a test for me as the very elect to not be deceived.  It is called a huge leap of faith for me.  When it comes to my health I’m concerned and concerned for all my family.  I want to live the best quality of life I can in the latter years I have left.

I referred to the talk that our Bishop talked about - He quoted from this conference talk in 2015 -God Is at the Helm By Elder M. Russell Ballard

Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

Commandments and covenants are priceless truths and doctrines found in the Old Ship Zion, where God is at the helm.   He then read this statement by the 1st presidency - quotes from this conference talk - In last October’s general conference, I invited listeners to follow Brigham Young’s counsel to stay on the Old Ship Zion, which is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and to hold on with both hands. Since then, I am happy to know that some of my family and others were listening and have asked me this question: “What’s in the Old Ship Zion that we should hang on to?” I reminded them of what President Brigham Young said: “We are on the old ship Zion. … [God] is at the helm and will stay there. … He dictates, guides and directs. If the people will have implicit confidence in their God, never forsake their covenants nor their God, He will guide us right.”

Clearly, our Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ have outfitted the Old Ship Zion with clear and simple eternal truths that will help us stay the course through the troubled waters of mortal life. Here are just a few.

The Church of Jesus Christ has always been led by living prophets and apostles. Though mortal and subject to human imperfection, the Lord’s servants are inspired to help us avoid obstacles that are spiritually life threatening and to help us pass safely through mortality to our final, ultimate, heavenly destination.

During my nearly 40 years of close association, I have been a personal witness as both quiet inspiration and profound revelation have moved to action the prophets and apostles, the other General Authorities, and the auxiliary leaders. While neither perfect nor infallible, these good men and women have been perfectly dedicated to leading the work of the Lord forward as He has directed.

And make no mistake about it: the Lord directs His Church through living prophets and apostles. This is the way He has always done His work. Indeed, the Savior taught, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me.” We cannot separate Christ from His servants. Without His first Apostles, we would not have an eyewitness account of many of His teachings, His ministry, His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, and His death on the cross. Without their testimonies, we would not have an apostolic witness of the empty tomb and the Resurrection. He commanded those first Apostles:

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.”

This commission was renewed in our own day when the Lord called Joseph Smith to restore the Church, with ordained Apostles to declare His gospel one last time before He will come again.

It has always been a challenge for the world to accept living prophets and apostles, but it is so essential to do so in order to fully understand the Atonement and the teachings of Jesus Christ and to receive a fulness of the blessings of the priesthood that are given to those He has called.

Too many people think Church leaders and members should be perfect or nearly perfect. They forget that the Lord’s grace is sufficient to accomplish His work through mortals. Our leaders have the best intentions, but sometimes we make mistakes. This is not unique to Church relationships, as the same thing occurs in our relationships among friends, neighbors, and workplace associates and even between spouses and in families. Looking for human weakness in others is rather easy. However, we make a serious mistake by noticing only the human nature of one another and then failing to see God’s hand working through those He has called.

Focusing on how the Lord inspires His chosen leaders and how He moves the Saints to do remarkable and extraordinary things despite their humanity is one way that we hold on to the gospel of Jesus Christ and stay safely aboard the Old Ship Zion….

Through the centuries, prophets have fulfilled their duty when they have warned people of the dangers before them. The Lord’s Apostles are duty bound to watch, warn, and reach out to help those seeking answers to life’s questions.

Twenty years ago, the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles issued “The Family: A Proclamation to the World.” In that inspired document, we concluded with the following: “We warn that individuals who violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable before God. Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets.”

As Apostles, we reaffirm this solemn warning again today. Please remember that commandments and covenants are priceless truths and doctrines found in the Old Ship Zion, where God is at the helm.

I know I truly believe in this proclamation to the world. I have seen myself the disintegration of the family as God‘s laws are not obeyed. We are now seeing the calamities of the disintegration of the family in our communities as foretold.

As Apostles, we reaffirm this solemn warning again today. Please remember that commandments and covenants are priceless truths and doctrines found in the Old Ship Zion, where God is at the helm… Thankfully, Christ is always near, waiting and willing to help us when we pray for help and are willing to repent and come unto Him… Our ship’s destination is the full blessings of the gospel, the kingdom of heaven, the celestial glory, and the presence of God!

God’s plan is in place. He is at the helm, and His great and powerful ship flows toward salvation and exaltation. Remember that we cannot get there by jumping out of the boat and trying to swim there by ourselves.

Exaltation is the goal of this mortal journey, and no one gets there without the means of the gospel of Jesus Christ: His Atonement, the ordinances, and the guiding doctrine and principles that are found in the Church.

It is the Church wherein we learn the works of God and accept the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ that saves us. It is within the Church that we form the commitments and covenants of eternal families that become our passport to exaltation. It is the Church that is powered by the priesthood to propel us through the unpredictable waters of mortality.

Let us be grateful for the beautiful Old Ship Zion, for without it we are cast adrift, alone and powerless, swept along without rudder or oar, swirling with the strong currents of the adversary’s wind and waves.

Hold tight, brothers and sisters, and sail on within the glorious ship, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and we will reach our eternal destination. This is my testimony and prayer for all of us in the name of Him for whom the Old Ship Zion is named, even our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.

I had to share this talk as guidance from my Heavenly Father through these troubled times even when I don’t truly understand.   Keep the Faith

I passed this on to Stacy - she is asking why too ?  Read this conference talk - we do have to have the faith God is at the Helm thru our leaders and he will lead us safely thru this mortal life as well-  this vaccination campaign I do not understand, but have the faith in time I will.  I do know the Church is true. I guess this is one of our test to support the church to keep the faith, when I can see this is going to cause many question our Prophet leader- they will be discouraged as I have felt myself.  Trying to make sense out of all.

Stacy responded back : It is becoming more clear to me why the church is taking the position that it has on vaccines and the pandemic with following the propaganda and the government. Though its hard for me. Trying to keep the big picture in mind and seek to understand. Follow the spirit!

Perseid meteor shower of 2021 thrills skywatchers

I really wanted to take our boat out on the lake on August 10th- 12th to witness this spectacular meteor shower.  I was not feeling well still from this virus.  Not much of a Birthday celebration for my hubby this year.  I stayed in Draper while he went back to the lake- the perfect place to see the falling meteor shower.  We have so much smoke from wildfires it made it difficult to have clear sky’s here in Utah.   Sad I missed it another sign and wonder of our time in the sky’s to watch.
NASA warns that the next great Perseid meteor shower may not happen until 2024 because sky conditions will not be ideal for the expected 2022 and 2023 peaks. "With a full moon and lower meteor activity during the Perseids' peak in 2022, and a waning crescent high in the sky for 2023, this might be your best chance to do some summer sky watching for a few years,"
I’m going to try and see if I can see some  tonight - it is going to be dark with the moon not coming up until 2:30 pm.  The sky are smoked filled with a haze but it was still possible to see meteors in the night sky.  A natural wonder for me to witness

God Is At the Helm

The time is coming when those who do not obey the Lord will be separated from those who do. Our safest insurance is to continue to be worthy of admission to His holy house. The greatest gift you could give to the Lord is to keep yourself unspotted from the world, worthy to attend His holy house. His gift to you will be the peace and security of knowing that you are worthy to meet Him, whenever that time comes.

This quotes goes along with what I was studying last about the Wheat and the Tares-  the parable about the righteous and the wicked growing up together. This thought has lifted my spirit today.

Stacy Sent encouragement

Stacy sent me a sweet text this morning-
REGARDING THE CHURCH’s STATEMENT
I’ve been applying the prophet's counsel to get really good at knowing how the Holy Ghost communicates with me.  He said it’s the only way we will be able to navigate through this world as it gets more chaotic.

As I read the church statement yesterday many times, I did another check-in with God.  I am still at peace with His guidance and inspiration and personal revelations to me.  I am at peace with the decisions I have made regarding my individual and personal health choices, and all possible outcomes because I have FAITH and HOPE in something far greater than this.
My friend Sharla said it best and I echo this 100%.
My faith has never been stronger.
Let’s be clear about what the church statement says...AND about what it doesn’t say.
It uses the word “urge,” not “command.”
Therefore it is still a personal decision that each person should make. It is between you, your doctor, and your individual inspiration.
It does NOT say God revealed every person should get the (hokey p o k e y).
That would take away agency. Agency is our entire point of existence. It is of paramount importance.
No one can claim you aren’t following the prophet or church leaders, by not getting “the thing.” We are actually following the commandments by seeking personal revelation for our individual lives. It’s no one’s business if you did or didn’t. No two people are the same, and what is right/best for me can, AND LIKELY IS, different from you.
It’s a waste of time and energy to judge another person about whether or not they are following the prophet. There are far better things for all of us to focus on, that would be a whole lot better for our spiritual growth.
The CHOICE is 100% up to you. It's no one else’s business. It's a personal choice.
I know the Doctrine of Jesus Christ is true. I will always strive to hear Him and seek out what He would have me do. I still feel the same as before so I keep going.  Keep being kind to others, having respect for others, keep standing up for what's best for me and my family, and have respect for ourselves & our bodies.  Every part of me Screams NO! So..... I listen. I ultimately answer to God and Christ and I 100% don’t think I will be kept from getting into Heaven over this issue.... but how I treat others and myself I will be held accountable for.
have the choice to be bitter or better. I choose better!
-Heather Miller Wade on FB. She is being attacked in the comments. 😫

My Bear lake Friend Tally sent me this text yesterday morning that has given me courage to stand true to my own personal revelation too-  I found myself doubting -  "BYU is requiring students, faculty and staff to report their vaccination status by Aug. 19 so it can decide whether masks will be required on campus." They're not requiring the jab, yet, but they're requiring a "report of status" of "IF" they have had the experimental injection.  Maybe you could share that last report from the Jewish doc with your grandchild. We all have to pray and ask Heavenly Father what He wants us to do individually.  The Spirit has been very specific to me and that is what I have you follow. It's very hard, heart wrenching, because I've been taught to follow the prophet! But I've also been taught by these same prophets and apostles to take the Holy Ghost as my guide and that is the only way to make it through these last days!!! So I am following the prophet. He told me to take the Holy Ghost as my guide. If I deny the Holy Ghost, I'm really going to be in trouble! I love my Heavenly Father and want to be standing for what He wants me to do.
I'm going to go to the school board or head of school district and ask what their plan is to keep children safe.  Children are my focus. I told Father if there was a way for me to help free children from child abuse and child trafficking, I would stand to help. That's my heart. Free the captives.
I'm a freedom fighter even though I'm weak and fearful and ignorant as to how to go about it, but I will follow what God wants me to do.

You're such a dear friend to me. Bless you!  I'll pray for you and Craig, please do the same for us.
Who would've ever imagined we would be so confused within our own house??? I never dreamed it would be like this. Holding tight to faith in Jesus is my foundation. I have to keep my focus there or the confusion and doubt drives away the Spirit who directs me.

My heart is heavy. I think we may be needed to nurse and care for the afflicted from the jab.
Prayers!❤

Time Out

My sweet Hubby knew I would be upset with the new church headquarters announcement.  He drove down late to be with me.  I said a fervent prayer for comfort and to help me make sense out of this.  My chest area hurt all night yet I did feel a spirit of comfort.  I slept ok. Craig on the other hand couldn’t sleep.  At 1:30 am he was up pacing the floor, he took a prescription that Scott and Jan are taking for insomnia, they had given Lavon a couple of pills and she passed them on to Craig.  He had a terrible night and said he would never take those pills again- he feels like he’s had a hangover half the day.  The medication I looked up the side effects say you can feel this way when first taking.  It is called Tradazone. I have never heard of the medication. Come to find out it is an antidepressant for depression that can be used for insomnia. It is very highly addictive and you can have terrible withdrawal symptoms going off it. I was shocked that JAN is taking 200 mg a day which is a very high dosage. No wonder she’s so skinny, she doesn’t look healthy -side effects of this drug is weight loss. Again she suffers with bad migraines and that is a side effect too, she has migraines all the time and you will become addicted to this medication- so I’m sure it’s been a vicious cycle for her. There’s no way Craig is taking this prescription. I have felt better today just trying to calm myself down and take a time out from all the news and the negative in the world right now. I need to focus on just getting better and then I’ll have it to give to others in timehttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1FEG9Bm_6X2dbf-4MspQItaYdTI9bLMen
I like this quote pray to find the way through all this.

I’m in Shock Right Now

I feel like the floor has been ripped right out from under me.  How do I trust my own judgement.  I feel like have been striving to feed my spirit and listen for the counsel and knowledge given me as I have immersed myself in the scriptures and prayer.  This is a powerful way to gain inspiration.  I just don’t even trust my internal judgement anymore.  Am I being Lead astray and I’m not following the Prophet if I choose not to receive this vaccination?   I’m listening to all the facts presented that are made available. And there are so many gray area’s- I feel the CDC is not telling us the truth.  This is what they said they were basing this decision and support on- thru the CDC guidance.  They are encourage all BYU college students which is shocking to me when the FDA still has not given approval.  I have a knot in my stomach.  How do I go Forward ?  I thought I got an answer last week as I studied the parable of the wheat & tares.  Looking for answers.  Relying on seeking my own personal revelation.   I felt the spirit whisper to me on my walk as I studied the wheat and tare parable, the prophet is silent because this is part of the cleansing process allowing the righteous and wicked to grow together.  It is a test for us as member to really listen to the holy spirit to learn what is truth.  We have to listen to holy Ghost guidance.  Now with this bold statement this has crumbled my personal inspiration.  The church is not silent-The first presidency is making an official statement.  At my dermatologist appointment Dr. Orme told me about the press release today. I went to the car after my appointment and looked it up on ksl.com and have copied it my blog. I’m just literally shocked - I came straight home from my doctors appointment not feeling good at all.  As the afternoon progressed I’m feeling a terrible pain in my chest. It is a tight sharp pain in the center of my chest area.  I feel my heart is breaking.   Don’t know if I’m having an anxiety attack or feels like a heart attack -literally my heart is just aching right now- I don’t know what to think.  All I can do is cry.  I’m so worn out.  I called Craig to talk him and let him know I’m not feeling good.  He is on his way down from the lake.  The pain is so intense.  I’m going to take a hot shower to see if I get some relief.  I checked my oxygen and it is low 88 saturation it should be over 90. Normal range should be 94.  So guess I’m struggle with my air supply still-  all I know is I'm hurting.

Church announcement on Covid 19 today -

SALT LAKE CITY — The available COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective and provide protection against severe infections, the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said in a release issued Thursday.

"We urge individuals to be vaccinated," wrote Presidents Russell M. Nelson, Dallin H. Oaks and Henry B. Eyring.

The message was the latest in a number of statements from church leaders throughout 2021 that they support immunization in the struggle against the virus.

"We find ourselves fighting a war against the ravages of COVID-19 and its variants, an unrelenting pandemic," the First Presidency said. "We want to do all we can to limit the spread of these viruses. And we know that protection from the diseases they cause can only be achieved by immunizing a very high percentage of the population."

Thursday's release also encouraged renewed use of face masks.

"To limit exposure to these viruses, we urge the use of face masks in public meetings whenever social distancing is not possible," the First Presidency wrote.

Members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles wear face masks and physical distance before the start of a general conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Oct. 3, 2020.

President Nelson entered full-time church leadership after a renowned career in medicine as a pioneer of open-heart surgery. Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, another senior church leader, was a cardiologist who specialized in heart transplants before beginning full-time church service.

Elder Renlund recovered from a mild COVID-19 infection in December 2020. Just before his infection, he released a video in which he said wearing masks during the pandemic is a sign of Christlike love. Elder Gerrit W. Gong, also of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, recovered from a COVID-19 infection in October 2020.

President Nelson has said he prayed often for the development of COVID-19 vaccines. He called the vaccines a "godsend" in a January social media post after he received his first vaccination shot. The church released a photo of him, along with images of other senior church leaders getting their shots. That same day, the First Presidency released a statement urging church members to quell the pandemic through vaccination.

In March, church leaders added a section to the church's General Handbook that formalized their longstanding support of vaccines in general. A decision to update the Handbook requires the review and approval of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

The issue of vaccinations and masking is also at the forefront of decisions being made by church-sponsored universities.

  • BYU is requiring students, faculty and staff to report their vaccination status by Aug. 19 so it can decide whether masks will be required on campus.
  • BYU-Idaho President Henry J. Eyring posted a video last week encouraging students to consider vaccination in the face of "serious medical threats." He said 50% of BYU-I students are vaccinated so far. He said 75% is the floor for the percentage of students he wants to authorize full in-class operations for fall semester. He noted that church leaders, including his own father, President Henry B. Eyring of the First Presidency, set an example for church members and university students by getting vaccinated.
  • BYU-Hawaii will require students to be vaccinated.
  • •Ensign College will "strongly encourage" but not mandate COVID-19 vaccinations.

The First Presidency's statement that available vaccines are effective comes two days after new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Preventionsuggested 99.999% of people fully vaccinated against COVID-19 did not have a severe breakthrough case that led to hospitalization or death, despite the emergence of the delta variant.

"We are dealing with a new foe that's so much more contagious, so it doesn't require that high of a percentage of unvaccinated people to spread but it is spreading faster in those parts of the state seeing lower vaccination rates," Oregon state epidemiologist Dean Sidelinger told the Washington Post. "Those counties with higher vaccination rates have a fairly slow rise in hospitalizations, but the counties with the lower vaccination rates have a much steeper rise in hospitalizations."

"Living in a hot spot while vaccinated today is much safer than living in a hot spot while unvaccinated last summer," the Post reported Thursday, based on new data analysis. "High-vaccination states have one-third the number of new cases per capita as low-vaccination states."

Here is the full text of Thursday's official First Presidency statement:

Dermatologist appointment

I have my dermatologist appointment today. I really do need to get in and I have lots of things going on that need to be looked at. I’m very concerned about a spot that’s come up on my cheek that I’m suspicious is melanoma- skin cancer.  It looks a lot like what was growing on my chest area many years ago.   So I have got to get cleaned up for the day.   Trisha is picking me up.  I don’t have a car.  I enjoyed just having an entire day to myself  to rest, read and reflect.  I’m reviewing and editing my blog entries since the beginning of this year. I’m so thankful I have taken the time to record my thoughts and family events. Things I have already forgotten if I had not written about them.  I find right now my memory has brain fog and hard to recall things.  This is a side effect of the virus. Saydee and Aubrey brought over a car for me to drive to my appointment.  I made my appointment and came straight home.  I still don't feel well enough to go anywhere.  I drove thru Costa Vida for lunch and headed home.  Things went well at my appointment.  he froze several spot on my back and face.  I have a follow up appointment in two months.

Calming My Spirits and Building my Faith / The SunFlowers in My life.

I have been studying the parable of the wheat and the tears from our come follow me lesson last week and have gained greater insight into strengthening my faith. I wanted to find a conference talk about the parable given by one of our most recent apostles.  As I pushed the search topic button on my gospel study app on my phone this talk came up that has brought sunshine to my day - that I would like to share what I learned.
The Lord Is My Light-  April 2015 general conference talk.
By Elder Quentin L. Cook
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles quotes form this talk-
“Our ability to stand firm and true and follow the Savior despite the vicissitudes of life is greatly strengthened by righteous families and Christ-centered unity in our wards and branches.”

Goes right along with building our defense of standing in holy places - I really liked this talk it brings peace to my heart.  quotes from his message-

In this Easter season we reflect upon and rejoice in the redemption provided by our Savior, Jesus Christ.
The clamor that reverberates across the earth because of worldly wickedness creates feelings of vulnerability. With modern communication the impact of iniquity, inequality, and injustice leaves many feeling that life is inherently unfair. As significant as these trials can be, they must not distract us from rejoicing in and celebrating Christ’s supernal intercession in our behalf. The Savior literally “gained the victory over death.” With mercy and compassion He took upon Himself our iniquity and transgressions, thus redeeming us and satisfying the demands of justice for all who would repent and believe on His name.

Believing in Jesus and keeping this faith in my heart keeps me stabilized as I see the unstable world around me.  I love this scripture I came across in my scripture reading Sunday on our drive from Bear Lake to Winston birthday dinner - Cross reference section on the wheat and Tares parable - section 38: Read this scripture today -  7 Behold, this I have given unto you as a parable, and it is even as I am. I say unto you, be one; and if ye are not one ye are not mine.
28 And again, I say unto you that the enemy in the secret chambers seeketh your lives.
29 Ye hear of wars in far countries, and you say that there will soon be great wars in far countries, but ye know not the hearts of men in your own land.
30 I tell you these things because of your prayers; wherefore, treasure up wisdom in your bosoms, lest the wickedness of men reveal these things unto you by their wickedness, in a manner which shall speak in your ears with a voice louder than that which shall shake the earth; but if ye are prepared ye shall not fear.
31 And that ye might escape the power of the enemy, and be gathered unto me a righteous people, without spot and blameless— Verse 30 really stood out when it say the voices of evil speaking louder in our ears as louder and consuming as an earth quakes. Which I feel like this is happening in the mass media - so much fake news and it has become louder and louder in their messaging to the world.  It is hard to know what the truth really is, who do we trust? I can see corruption in every aspect of our lives and it is really hard to know what the truth is. The mass media keeps bombarding us with fake truths only their agenda.
Quotes from Brother Cooks talk - How, then, do we deal with the harsh realities that surround us?  He then shows a picture of sunflowers growing in random places.  In August I love seeing the sunflowers popping out.  He proceeds to tell a story that has great meaning -  My wife, Mary, has always loved sunflowers. She rejoices when they, in quite improbable places, appear on the roadside. There is a dirt road that leads to the home where my grandparents lived. When we started down that road, Mary would often exclaim, “Do you think we will see those amazing sunflowers today?” We were surprised that sunflowers flourish in soil which has been impacted by farm and snow removal equipment and the accumulation of materials that would not be considered ideal soil for wildflowers to grow.
One of the remarkable characteristics of young wild sunflowers, in addition to growing in soil that is not hospitable, is how the young flower bud follows the sun across the sky. In doing so, it receives life-sustaining energy before bursting forth in its glorious yellow color.
Like the young sunflower, when we follow the Savior of the world, the Son of God, we flourish and become glorious despite the many terrible circumstances that surround us. He truly is our light and life.
In the parable of the wheat and the tares, the Savior declared to His disciples that those who offend and do iniquity shall be gathered out of His kingdom. But speaking of the faithful, He said, “Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.” As individuals, disciples of Christ, living in a hostile world that is literally in commotion, we can thrive and bloom if we are rooted in our love of the Savior and humbly follow His teachings..  this is so power to remember !!!

Our ability to stand firm and true and follow the Savior despite the vicissitudes of life is greatly strengthened by righteous families and Christ-centered unity in our wards and branches.   Again standing in Holy places gives us light and strength to withstand the forces of evil that do surround us.

President Kimball challenged every family “to be on their knees … praying for their sons and daughters twice daily.”
Brothers and sisters, if we faithfully have family prayer, scripture study, family home evening, priesthood blessings, and Sabbath day observance, our children will know what time it is at home. They will be prepared for an eternal home in heaven, regardless of what befalls them in a difficult world. It is vitally important that our children know they are loved and safe at home.  It is important that our homes are a place of safety from the cares of the world.

I also liked the quote - We recognize that some members have questions and concerns as they seek to strengthen their faith and testimonies. We should be careful not to be critical or judgmental of those with concerns—great or small. At the same time, those with concerns should do everything they can to build their own faith and testimony. Patiently and humbly studying, pondering, praying, living gospel principles, and counseling with appropriate leaders are the best ways to resolve questions or concerns.

This is a process I’m working on as I have concerns and questions?

Our protections in this life and for eternity will be in individual and family righteousness, Church ordinances, and following the Savior. This is our refuge from the storm. For those who feel they are alone, you can stand resolutely in righteousness knowing that the Atonement will protect and bless you beyond your ability to fully understand.

We should remember the Savior, keep our covenants, and follow the Son of God as the young sunflower follows the sunshine. Following His light and example will bring us joy, happiness, and peace. As Psalm 27 and a favorite hymn both proclaim, “The Lord is my light and my salvation.”   This talk had so much more meaning to my heart as I have asked questions and searching for answers.  Continue bringing The light of Christ in my life- flood his light that it might shine forth to those in darkness to follow and that angels of light may guide my way.  That they may shield me against the evil spirits that strive to lead us astray.  As I have greater light in my spirit it shines forth and literally protects

me from the powers of evil spirits that are striving to tempt me and lead me astray.  As I shield myself with the light of righteousness, striving to live Gods Law, standing in holy places, the evil spirits leave. The Angels are in charge to protect me.   This gives me great comfort.  I have come to a greater understanding of standing in Holy Places, that give light and knowledge which allow the Angels to protect shield my eternal spirit against evil.  I love sunflowers too,  I love the reminder they too do follow the light if the sun which is the light of Jesus Christ in all our lives.  May the light shine forth!

Happy Birthday Enzo

Today is our little Enzo Towner’s birthday.   He is turning 5 years old.  He is such a sweet little boy love him so very much.  I love his smile.  They are back in California after their three week visit in Utah. My time with the Towner family was cut short due to us all contracting the virus going around. They are all doing much better now I’m recovering- I’m really struggling with my energy levels. Craig drove to St. George on Monday up and back. He wanted to just keep going to California so we could be there for Enzo’s birthday. I told him I’m just not well enough to go anywhere it would not be enjoyable for me. Just riding in the car from Bear Lake for three hours is all I can handle. The thought of being in the car for over 12 hours is more than I can handle right now physically. I’ve got to get my strength back it is slow coming.  https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1uJyLcxAwcflS2A5AY83A82VE26ldCKj2
Giving myself time to heal. I’m enjoying my time quietly in solitude at our Draper home. It is really quiet here when no one‘s around I love the peace and quiet right now very calming to my nerves. Everything at the lake is so noisy- the highway with cars up and down all day Trisha and Buck were there with her kids which I did enjoy last weekend. Trish is so thoughtful she took the time to wash all the sheets on six beds- that’s a lot of work. She also cleaned our bedroom and bathroom which it was greatly needed with us being sick and recovering for over a month. So thankful for her cleanliness she is the pro at cleaning and organizing things. Shar and Dave came up Monday for girls camp- they are cooking all the meals for the next three days. They are hanging out at the cabin today to enjoy the lake with all the girls from camp. I’m missing out on the fun but not feeling well enough to participate. It feels good to just have some quiet time- I’ve been able to read and reflect about my life and what’s happening in the world around me,  I feel like things have been spinning out of control and I have needed time to build my faith and my physical body at the same time. Craig spent eight hours driving to St. George and back on Monday,  He just dropped his mom off at her house and turned around and came back. Tuesday we went to lunch for his birthday and he headed back to the lake. I’m glad that I have had the time to just stay here and rest and that is what I’m doing.  My recovery meds more than I've taken in a life time.

TLynn designs -  Trisha’s sign at the home she worked so hard preparing for and decorating for the 2021 Salt Lake City Parade of Homes- a dream come true for her and me.  We both have loved going to the parade of homes over the years looking at the beautifully decorated homes.  Trisha is very talented and smart in putting things together.  Fun to see her take on this huge project and in launching her TLynn designs business as a professional and very talented young women.   So very proud of her as her mother. She did and amazing job in decorating a 6000 square foot home in only five days.  It took months of planning and shopping to pull it all together.  I enjoyed spending time with her as she took me from room to room telling me about all the decor.  I got the inside info of all that took place to create this beautiful home from start to finish.  She was involved in the architectural design and then picking out moldings, paint, brick, cabinets, lighting etc. Then all the furniture and decor.   They won three awards. Best Builder and design for the parade this year.  What an accomplishment!!
