St. Patrick's Day

Craig and I came home late Wednesday night from our three day stay in Salt Lake. I drove up our Lexus to the Lake. We have been storing it at Trisha's house since we moved in November.  It was nice to have another car in the Valley when we came for a visit.  Craig could go to his meetings and I was not left without a car. With the Burbidge family moving we needed to move it.  They are moving Thursday.  We helped them Wednesday for a few hours before we returned to the Lake.  The weather has been so nice the past few days, feels good to have sunshine, I love sitting out on our deck and watching the birds on the lake.  We worked in the yard it has gotten so warm and nice, spring is here!! Friday was St. Patrick's Day we invited three couples in the ward to celebrate St. Patrick's with us.  I decorated a fun dinner table setting for us. Craig and I wore our fun green colors, I fixed a really nice dinner, we played games and had a great time.   We invited Bishop Petersen and his wife Tonya Pat Argyle came by herself, and Brother and Sister Madison and their son Blake, they are our new neighbors.  We are trying to get to know all the locals here at Bear Lake and in our ward, fun to visit and make new friends.

Trisha planned a surprise birthday party for Buck this year it was so much fun, she decorated the cultural hall at the church and it turned out so beautiful! Craig and I went over Monday night to help decorate and set things up, Tuesday, March 14th I spent all day cooking, I made three large bowls of potato salad and four large bowls of pasta salad, I barely got it all done in time to attend the party. Buck was surprised!!  Trisha was able to pull it off, he had no idea, she works so hard and decorated so nice, it was a fun family memory for everyone.  Buck said it was the best day since his wedding for all the attention he was given on his special day.  Trisha said it was worth all the hard work!!

My Family History

I have enjoyed my day to myself and I've spent the day working on my family history, something I really do enjoy doing and it does take a lot of time going through the records, I'm trying to go through everything that I've collected over the years and digitize and source my note so that they can be available on ancestry.com and then connect the family names to family search. It is a lot of work and can be very tiring, it seems to consume my mind lately.  In church Sunday they had one of the high priest get up and talk about how they need people to volunteer at the family history Library in Montpelier, Idaho- Craig reached over and gave me a nudge telling me that's something I should probably do since I love working on family history, I'll have to find out the information and see where I can help.

Family Home Evening

They have once a month have an empty nester family home evening in our stake.  Craig and I went last night for the first time.  I do have to say that they were all very old, a good 10 years older than us it felt like. It is fun to get to know some of the older people in the valley, they had brother Admenson  speak, he talked about Bear Lake history and also talked about how the Bear Lake Valley is a gathering place, a place of peace and safety.   That difficult times are in the future it will be a place for our family to gather for safety from the difficulties of the world.  He talked about how important it is that we have our food storage and supply for hard times to come that our children could very well be coming to live with us, we need to gather as families and live the law of consecration as things become more challenging in our society.  He talked about how the first part of third Nephi is written for us as a pattern to follow of how things will go a time period that our government financially will collapse,  our government will collapse and the families will have to pull together to survive. Craig and I have a lot to do in our home storage area we are very lacking, we have let it all dwindled to nothing with us moving.  This will be something for us to start working on, figuring out where to store it  will be a challenge for us. The cabin was built as our vacation home we have very little storage space.

More Snow

We have been getting more snow for the last three days this last weekend was pretty and sunny but it only lasted for two days and then it's been snowing the last three days, still winter wonderland at the lake, I do have to say I am enjoying living up here, I love the peaceful serene setting, I love looking out at the lake watching the Canadian geese all different kinds of  birds, the ducks, we see a bald eagles flying across the sky and Golden eagle's, lots of deer and moose that runs around, white jack rabbits, little ferrets and squirrels and cottontail rabbit's scurrying around.   We saw a flock of turkeys roosting in the trees down the street, I love seeing all the wildlife surrounding us, I really like living out in the country, I feel so much more peaceful and calm in our surroundings even though we live in winter wonderland I have enjoyed this winter.
