Back And Forth/ Tulip Festival

We headed back to Draper Last Monday afternoon.  Craig and I both had doctor appointments on Tuesday morning early. Mine at 9am with the knee dr.  And Craig had a follow up with his dr. at 10:30 am.  My ex-rays for my knee all looked good.  He thinks I just strained a tendon, he did give me cortisone shot.  It has helped a lot with the pain for now.  Craig’s doctor has no idea what Craig’s symptoms are about.  It is a puzzle for now.  Craig had to go back up to the lake Tuesday afternoon for young men’s, and drive to Evanston Wednesday morning for court for his ticket we received a couple weeks back.  We were blessed they dismissed it -the fine was $240.00.  Craig drove down late Wednesday evening.  Thursday afternoon Craig went to the tulip festival at Thanksgiving point with me. I have been wanting to go the past two weeks.  The weather has been so back and forth.  Finally it was a beautiful day.  We have had lots of storms rolling in.  It was only 40 degrees on Monday today when we left town it was 85 degrees.  The warmest day of the year so so far.  So nice to have it warm up.  Craig and I washed the windows at our Draper home today.  It was getting hot outside.  We were ready to head north after we finished up.   I’m teaching gospel doctrine this Sunday.  Monday Michele and I are leaving to make the long drive back to Texas.  She has been here three weeks.  It has gone by all to fast. My mother is really excited that I’m driving back with her.  Going to spend some time with my mother. Her health is not good-  it will be nice to spend Mother’s Day with her this year.

Heading Back To The Lake.

We are heading back up today so we can attend church tomorrow.  I’ve missed the past two weeks- April 4th was General Conference,  April 10th - I stayed in Draper sick in bed from my Shingle shot.  I had a rough reaction and did not feel well I had received it on Friday.  Michele was arriving in town the following Monday April 11th so I wanted to be here.  Craig drove up and back.  April 18th one week later I was still in draper all week. We hosted Randy’s baby shower on Saturday the 17th.  Michele and I needed to rest after all the work of hosting on Saturday and finish cleaning up.  I have enjoyed spending time with my sister.  This past week we waited the arrival of Randy's baby, he was born on Tuesday afternoon.  Michele has been back and forth to the hospital.  I have not seen the critter yet.  They won’t let anyone in the hospital except one person.  They have kept Cassy and the baby longer.  She is suppose to come home today.  Michele is heading out again this morning to be with them at the hospital till they check out at 2pm if everything goes well this morning for her and the baby.  The plan is for Randy to come spend the day with his mother Michele here at our Draper home.  They need some mother son time together before she has to leave for home.  She is planning to leave next Saturday May 1st to make to make the long drive back.  I’m planning on driving back with her so she doesn’t have to drive all that way back alone.  That way I can see my mother and spend Mother's day with her.  I haven’t been home to see her on Mother’s day since I first got married that has been 44 years.  It will be special to spend some time with her.  I don’t think she is going to be here with us much loner her old body is wearing out.  Each day is a gift.  So we are heading back up to the lake today so Craig can fulfill his church duties.  I would rather just stay here.  I need to teach gospel doctrine and prepare for my lesson.  If I go to Texas next weekend I need to spend some time with him. I haven't commitment entirely yet about going it is such a long drive.  We have to drive up today and back down Monday night again- we both have doctor appointments Tuesday morning.  I have one for my knee and I scheduled an appointment with Craig's primary doctor to see if he can figure out what is going on with Craig.  He keeps having these bad spells, the doctor needs to look deeper and do some reach.  We’ve had every test he has recommended and still no answers. It is so frustrating for him.  I knelt and said a prayer for  him Thursday night- amazingly he slept thru the night.  I did the same last night and said several prayer in my sleep for him to get some sleep and rest from his pain. He had another good night of rest.  The Lord  heard my prayers and blessed him to sleep.  He has many sleepless nights pacing the floors when these spells come on at night.  We are praying for answers.  Michele left for the day to spend with Randy and his new baby boy. I hurt my knee playing pickleball in January.  It has been very painful and I can hardly go up and down the stairs.  It has been long enough to heal and is not getting better.  The doctor said every thing looks good in the ex-rays.  He gave me a cortisone shot in my knee.  Such hope it relieves the pain.  He said it will take about a week to see result. Craig and I both have had health challenges this year.  I'm so worried about Craig.

Blessings of Temples

Article in the Church News this week

Tuesday, April 20, 2021

A note from Church News Editor Sarah Jane Weaver:

During a time when temple worship is limited by local COVID-19 conditions and restrictions, President Russell M. Nelson announced in April 2021 general conference 20 new temples — the most locations ever announced in a single day.

The announcement came during a conference defined by a single, powerful word: faith.

“Faith is the power that enables the unlikely to accomplish the impossible,” President Nelson said, adding that faith requires members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be deliberate and intentional.

President Nelson has modeled that for us — challenging us to see beyond present circumstances and inviting us to be part of the miracle of the ongoing Restoration.

Since becoming President of the Church three years ago, President Nelson has now announced 69 temples, bringing the total number of temples that are operating, under construction or announced to 251.

And during the year 2020 — defined by first halted and then limited temple operations because of the global pandemic — faith-filled Church leaders broke ground for 21 new temples.

I’m grateful for the temple.  Look forward to attending when we can.  Our Draper Temple is open for Baptism For the Dead by appointment.  I had a Conversation with Landon and Lincoln on their spring break when we were playing games about the temple.  They both are old enough to attend.  I told them we would have to schedule a time to go.  Told them to schedule a time with their Bishop to receive their youth limited temple recommend And I would take them to the temple.  Something to look forward to With my younger grandsons.

Grandmother Michele

Michele was able to hold her first grandson today.  So special for her. These are very tender moments.  She sent me pictures.  For some reason I couldn't get one to download in my blog.

Sleeping In

Craig has been back and forth to the lake while I’ve stayed here at our Draper home.  He can’t sit still for long.  He left last Wednesday after his appointment with the nerve dr.  The test they did nothing was found.  Yet he keeps having these wired spells where he get light headed, nausea, tingling numb feeling in different parts of his body.  It moves around.  He was having a bad spell Sunday and drove back down late arriving at 1:30 am.  I was in a deep sleep when he got here.  He slept in and went to the gym, ran a few errands, got the tires changed on his truck.  Come Tuesday went and paid our RC Willey account off from our stimulus check from the government of $2800 we each got $1400 each- pick up a oil filter for his truck and he was ready to head back to the lake for Young men’s on Tuesday nights.  He was here a little over 24 hours.  I meet him for lunch before he drove back up.  He went back to the lake.  Michele and I were going to go to the Tulip festival but it was to windy so we just got lunch and came home.  I told Michele I wouldn’t be surprised if Craig showed up today.  Well sure enough he drove back down. He fulfilled his young men calling. played pickleball with the Bear Lake gang and headed back to Draper.  He doesn’t like being alone without me.  We went and saw the Thomas grandkids last night- I was missing baby Cora.  Tasha fed us dinner and we visited with Bridger.   Little Cora is so adorable. We talked about Lincoln getting in trouble at school and being disrespectful to his teacher- he got sent to the principle office too.  So now today they are meeting with the principle.   Lincoln does have a temper. He speaks up and doesn’t let anyone push him around especially when he gets mad.  We joked he got a double dose from Craig and grandpa Symes Merlin when  it comes to his temper control. They are very controlling at times and fight back.  Bridger was a hand full in school too.  Lincoln has to learn to channel that energy in a positive way. He is doing must better since his toddler years and early years as a little boy, he was very challenging at time.  As he has matured I noticed he has become more manageable, but he does have his flair ups.  He is very strong willed.  Craig is sleeping in this morning from another bad episode in the wee morning hours. We have got to figure this out no answers why it is happening to him?   It is upsetting to him.  At least he is resting now.  Today is suppose to be warmer with the sun out, we have had cooler weather with snow and rain showers rolling thru since my sister arrived.  Hoping to go to Thanksgiving point today to see the pretty spring flowers.   Randy and his baby boy might be coming home latter today.  Michelle hasn’t seen the baby yet.  They won’t let anyone in the hospital due to the virus only the parents.
