Having a great time with Lynette Banks. This is an amazing conference. The keynote speaker today is Scott Hamilton Olympic gold skater. Craig and I drove down to Salt Lake on Wednesday morning early the last day of February, to meet with Craig Christensen, a dear friend for many years and is now serving as a seventy in the presidency. Craig had to schedule his lunch appointment months in advance to meet with him. We wanted to talk about our timing in serving a fulltime mission. Craig and I both are serving in leadership calling in our Bear Lake Ward which we did not anticipate when moving to Bear Lake. We feel like this is our mission now serving here. Craig said what we are doing now is important, just turn our papers in a few years when we feel we are ready to go. We plan to serve in our callings with all our hearts at this time. Not labeled an official calling, but we are serving the Lord and doing missionary work in our ward callings. We had a great time visiting with Craig and getting caught up on the events in our lives as friends. We have known them for about 28 years, we both moved in the Mountain Oaks ward in 1990 and had fun times together as families. After our visit we went shopping at Mr Mac's and bought Craig a new suit. He felt he needed to buy one. It has been many years since his last suit, and they are getting tight on him as we grow older sad to say. I stopped by the Salt Palace to pick up my name tag for the Roots Tech family history conference, so excited to attend this year. I have classes all day on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I'm attending with my neighbor Lynette Banks from our old neighborhood. We have gone many time over the years together. I didn't go last year, I was sick with a terrible kidney infection, this year I'm healthy!! We had great time learning new things about family history. I think the most I gained from the conference is to share with my family and write the stories of our lives and try to create the stories of our ancestor before us, leave a legacy behind that binds us together as an eternal family, building bridges that link us together.
