Change Of Events

Things changed fast in the wee morning hours on Thursday.  Craig texted me he was having a bad episode. I just happen to see my phone text from Craig at 2 am - Texas time.  He told he was not doing good.  By early morning he had Norm Batt drive him to the hospital.  Craigs blood levels were off and they told him he had a blood clot some where and that they needed to do an angiogram to look for the clot.  Craig was really upset when I talked to him.  I could tell he was nervous without me there.  I immediately book a flight to come home.  The earliest flight I could get out was 3pm with short notice and same day.  Luckily it wasn’t to bad of a price.   I had to pack up fast.  I had just booked a flight for Mom and I the night before to fly back next Wednesday a week later.  Luckily I had 24 hours to cancel without charge.  I was able to make the arrangements fast and pack up for a flight home.  It was a little stressful for me at the airport.  I haven’t flown since the Covid lock down a year ago.  It was strange flying and everyone having to wear a mask.  It was tense getting thru security, but all went well.  I had a three hour flight.  It felt good to land on the run way safe.   Plans changed fast.  I was having Sharlena picking me up at the airport.  Craig was released from the hospital and sent home.  His blood work improved and they sent him home.  Scott and Jan were picking me up at the airport and driving me to the Lake.   So I had a two and half hour drive straight from the airport-  Just after flying in.  I had a booming head ache.  I don’t usually get heads aches but I’m sure from the stress of worrying about Craig.  I was so glad his mother Lavon  was able to stay with him at the hospital. while I was in Texas Craig drove down to see his mother in St George.  He drove back and brought his mother with him.  They had just arrived at the Lake and gone to bed when his attack came on.  They didn’t get any sleep.  By the time I arrived at the lake I was beat and my head was really booming.  We stopped at Cafe Sabor to get something to eat.  Craig and Lavon were waiting at the cabin. I called for Craig to come pick me up.  I didn’t want to stay and eat my dinner there the noise of all the people was hurting my head.  I was anxious to see my hubby after being gone over a week.  I could tell he was not feeling well even though he was sent home. The next thing we knew Scott and Jan called to say they had to head back to Bountiful.  Troy their son was in a bad accident and was in the hospital.  They were only here and hour to eat dinner and now making the dive back.  I appreciated them picking me up.  They took Lavon back with them.  She didn’t even get to stay an entire night a the lake-  Craig drove down to St George on Monday and back to the lake by Wednesday evening.  They had only been in bed a few hours when he felt he should go to the hospital.  I’m sure Craig’s Mother was exhausted when she arrived back to St George on Friday.  A whirlwind of a trip for her to go 7 hours one way in one day and return in two day. She almost spent more time driving.    Troy is really beat up from his accident.  She was able to see him on Friday and then they drive back to St George.  Craig and I slept in  till 10am.  I was tired all day.  We did enjoy tinkering in the yard and enjoying the sunshine.  Saturday we enjoyed our morning playing pickleball for three hours and doing some more yard work.  It was a beautiful day.  It feels good to be home. My trip in Texas was cut short.  I was going to stay another week and had planned on brining my mother back with me.  That all changed fast.  I glad my mother ended up not coming back.  It is going to be hard taking care of her.  She has gone down hill alot since I last saw her.  She needs alot of care daily.  She really shouldn't be left alone any more.  I don't know how I would have balanced it, but was willing to give it a try.  She just has a hard time leaving Tommy when it comes down to it.
