Back To Polar Zone

We drove back to the lake yesterday afternoon to get ahead of another snow storm coming up.
Craig bought our new Car yesterday morning.  It is a 2021 GMC Denali.  He is wanting to sell our truck to replace it with.  We drove it to the lake.  It was a little over whelming when we arrived.  It is so cold about 5 degrees - some areas driving through were minus 5 degrees.  There is a lot of snow here at the lake now with this last storm over the weekend and more to come during the night and all day today. I’m thinking what are we doing?  How am I going to get through this winter?  I felt a wave of discouragement come over me.  I had to watch a couple of movies to distract my mood.  I keep telling myself to think positive.   I’m feeling lost right now- what is my purpose? I need a new project. Retirement years are challenging when we have very little on our agenda- I have to look for things to do.  Well today we kept busy shoveling snow from our driveway and decking area.  It was a mess on our upper deck.  All my Christmas decor on the porch was blown over and covered with snow. I had to take the time to clean it up- shovel off the snow and bring things in to dry out from the snow and ice. We ventured out to have lunch at the Bear Trapper. When we received a text message that the YSA activity was cancelled for tonight.  If we knew we could have stayed longer at our Draper home. Despite the cold it felt nice to be outside in the cool fresh air.  Craig worked hard shoveling one side of the driveway.  Our snowblower died last year.  So, we are left with shoveling this year until we can get a new blower.  We kept busy today- it gets dark by 5:30 pm and I start shutting down when it gets dark.  I listened to a podcast Shannon sent to me about a lady who is Channeling the spirit realm.  The insight I learned is to be positive- we can channel joy and love in our lives- I really like this quote from President Hinkley- "Don't be gloomy. Do not dwell on unkind things. Stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. Even if you are not happy, put a smile on your face. 'Accentuate the positive.' Look a little deeper for the good. Go forward in life with a twinkle in your eye and a smile on your face, with great and strong purpose in your heart. Love life." -Gordon B. Hinckley - I love this quote and a reminder to me to stay positive despite the challenges around us.
