Wednesday Oct, 2nd I drove to Draper for a Mammogram appointment on Thursday. It was fun to walk in our house and have it start to take shape. I went shopping at RC Willey and Ashley furniture which is not far from our home only about seven minutes away which is fun. I'm looking at for a desk for Craig’s office and a rug. Nothing stood out to me. The new decorating style is so modern I am having a really hard time knowing what to do - things are not coming together yet. My color scheme is a struggle as well because everything is gray, white and blue. I am not a blue décor person for some reason I gravitate to brighter colors in my décor. I do love autumn colors to decorate with. I’m trying to work with what I already have which is somewhat pretty neutral in the family room area just finding the right color scheme. Picking out what is just right for my taste has been challenging for me -harder than I expected. Thursday morning I tinkered in our house -I move the furniture around in the family room for a better grouping to give me more of an idea of what I need to add. I really want to have some built-in shelves on the TV entertainment wall. My shopping stops were - Costco looking at rugs and the furniture they have- I then went to TJ Maxx in Draper and Downhome East looking at their variety of furniture and rugs - I found two rugs maybe are a possibility. I went into Kohl's which I haven’t been in for well over a year and nothing stood out to me in there- I went to Home Depot and exchange some lightbulbs and looked at their floating shelves and rugs and still nothing I really loved. I headed over to Pier 1 imports by the mall which I love this store, they have such pretty things there and found a dining room chair that I thought might work for our dining room. I only bought one to take home to see if I liked it. The lighting is so different in that store I thought it was a soft green I got home and it is totally gray plus the chair was too small- I had to take it back, they did have two green chairs there so I bought them. When I got them home with them - they’re just not the right color - even though I had a picture of my rug- they’re too bright and their not tall-enough with the chairs I already have, So I’m going to have to take them back. I went to TJ Maxx home goods at the mall and scoped them out, they had crystal knobs there which I love so I bought enough to replace the knobs in our bathroom that was my project on Friday evening replacing all the cabinet knobs. Thursday afternoon I went over to Trisha‘s and we visited, her new home has come along so nicely she’s getting all moved in, she has all the beds set up and all their closets organized, she’s just slowly bringing in boxes one at the time and unpacking and putting away from their trailer which keeps their life in some order. Each of the kids bedrooms turned out so beautiful they had bought all new stuff when they were in St. George so it was like Christmas getting their Décor out again after being in storage for two years. Trisha and I went to TJ home goods - out in Herriman they have a new shopping mall out there which is so nice. It was fun to be shopping with my daughter she bought some pretty crystal dishes for her bathroom and some rugs that will be so pretty. We took home and set it out in her beautiful bathroom. We went to Café Rio for dinner, I haven’t been there for a long time it was so yummy. Trisha let me borrow all her fun Halloween dishes for my game night this Monday coming up with our Bear Lake group. I’m so excited to set it all up. I got home late from Trisha’s. It was nice to go home and have a place to rest after a day of shopping- my feet were killing me. I took a nice hot bath in our new tub. Trisha gave me some ideas about glass jars around the bathtub with bath salt in them. I had the glass jars so it was fun to add the decorations around my tub that added a fun touch. I’m loving our bedroom with the decor I already had- just moving things around adding some white pillows and lighter colors this make it look nice. I stayed up till about 3 AM in the morning tinkering in our new place. I still woke up early about 7 am. - 10:30 am out the door shopping again. I went back to TJ Maxx Home Goods and Pier 1 Imports, Target and the Mall. I went home to put the things away that I had bought which was only the crystal knobs and the two green chairs which I’m going to have to take back the chairs. I’m just having a hard time finding any rugs that I really like. I’m stuck with what color schemes to work with - Trisha said she would come over and help me- once I get my color scheme figured out things will flow together for me. I was up late again Friday night and decided to stay one more night and come home early Saturday morning in time for general conference. I enjoyed my time shopping and taking a hot bath each night -my feet killing me from all the shopping, it is a lot of work. I had fun going to all the different stores scoping things out. I woke up early Saturday morning and headed out I had to stop at Walmart in Evanston for groceries for our dinner party on Monday night. I looked at the Décor things at Walmart and wow I actually found some rugs there that I liked. I wanted to find something to put in the hallway and in the kitchen to help keep our wood floors nice -so I bought the rugs that they had there which might work for me -I’ll see you the next time I go back down which is only a week away. Good ole Walmart. I got home in time for the morning conference session was able to listen to the first hour in the car driving to the lake. I love general conference the talks have all been so good. To my surprise while I was gone my sweet hubby made two floating shelves for our TV room. He did such a great job. He is used the wood we had left over from building our place at the lake in the garage so it didn’t cost him anything- they turned out awesome, we hung them that afternoon after the morning session of conference. I had fun sitting out the Halloween dishes that I borrowed from Trisha and all decorated, I'm and ready for our dinner party on Monday night- just need to do all the fun cooking. Halloween season is fun!
